They're all insanely good athletes. It's not going to be everyone's cup of tea and that's absolutely fine but it's super weird that there's actually people complaining about what they're doing.5 points

This is what blows my mind. We could start them both and on the very remote chance the C gets hurt then you lose the DH for that day. Who cares, were losing 100+ games anyway and just call up Lee the next day. It's just bugged the s%*# out of me since they've both been up.4 points

White Sox linked to two players here NOTE: This is their Bonus Board rankings, not necessarily where they're ranked in the class2 points

Barons win Game 2 of the DH 4-3. Braden at DH went 1-3 with a walk, August slash at .358/.456/.552 Antonacci 1-2 with a double, a walk, and 3 (!) stolen bases. Could be joining Braden in the .900 OPS club soon, he's at .895. Murphy went 5 IP with 1 unearned run.2 points

It's called fundamentals, something the Sox completely suck at and yet nothing is done to correct the stupidity. Ever. There's no way in hell this group doesn't lose 100+ games. Have now lost 14 of their last 17. 🤡2 points

Saw that happen in Milwaukee early in the 1990 season. Ventura caught a foul pop down the third base line, had his back turned towards home and the runner broke for the plate. Robin fired a one hop strike, Fisk blocked the play...bingo. Double play.2 points

Exactly. I have no clue why WE assumes Ishbia would promote any loser from this current org. He is a baseball fan and has watched this team. He sees what we see. He knows he’s buying the team from an awful owner who has lost more games than he has won, while barely trying. I sincerely doubt Ishbia thinks that 2nd place (stated by Jerry himself) or a continuous rebuild is just as good as winning divisions and Wild Cards. Getz won’t have another job in baseball once Jerry is six feet under, just like Kenny and Hahn.2 points

Why would anyone defend Getz? Ishbia will not be promoting from within a failing organization. That I am certain. I'm also certain no one will ever be clamoring for Getz to run their baseball team in my life.2 points

Random, but does anyone else kinda miss the days teams could call up more guys in September?2 points

Meidroth's is powered by stellar defense. He definitely has a place with the team, probably at 2B. But right now: 1) If Sosa isn't a valuable player, why is a team giving up a good outfielder for him? 2) Right now, no one has 1B or 3B locked down, so might as well keep all three of Sosa, Vargas and Mead. Hell, Benintendi could get show the door as his contract begins to get cheaper and you could try one in LF. 3) Giving up Quero or Teel early means you risk losing a franchise catcher if the other flops. If Jacob Gonzalez suddenly went thermonuclear and Montgomery went into a sophomore slump, would it be time to trade Colson?2 points

Currently Teel and Quero are pretty much each playing 50% of the games. If Lee allows them both to EACH play more, this is a win. Think of it this way. In 10 games, this allow you to Teel: Catch 4, DH 4 Quero: Catch 4 DH 4 Lee Catch 2 Someone else DH 2 You now have these guys playing 80% of the time, instead of 50%.2 points

Lee is needed if a one of the catchers gets hurt during a game and then you lose the DH. What I would really like to see is Teel eventually winding up at first base.2 points

This fucking bum has had more words wasted on him than actual useful WS players. I can't wait until he sucks again next year so we can all just put this to bed.2 points
-
This actually allows them to play both Quero and Teel without worrying about an injury costing them the DH position. It leaves them an extra catcher to catch, even if the other guy is DHing.2 points

I think the main thing is, Andrew Vaughn was pretty bad for 4+ seasons here. In 150 plate appearances with Milwaukee, he has produced 1.2 bWAR when he produced a total of -0.5 bWAR in his Sox career. Something got changed with him from some form of instruction from the Brewers. The K rate is drastically cut, the walk rate has drastically risen, these are all clear signs of a change in approach at the plate. Vaughn could bottom out, but that will never undo what's going on with him right now. The Sox have a terrible reputation with player development and this is an example of someone else being able to get SOMETHING out of Vaughn the Sox never could even if its only for 200 or so PA's if that's even how it ends up shaking out.2 points

They're also getting local fanbases absolutely fucking amped by letting them see legends / shows. How excited were people to see Buehrle/AJ/Paulie/Ozzie and a Chance the Rapper concert? There's great humor that any Sox fan would complain about the Bananas considering the impact Bill Veeck (who Jesse Cole cites as an idol) had on the franchise and baseball in general.2 points

Rockies only need 5 more wins to avoid taking the crown of failure of Jerry Reinsdorf's 2024 season.2 points

Vaughn has been pretty mediocre the last two weeks. Just saying...1 point

Rox have a -332 run differential and are somehow only 5 wins from bettering the 2024 Sox. That’s crazy. Losing 31 of 34 the rest of the way seems like a tall task, even for them.1 point

Hadn’t been paying attention to the Rockies much but this is awesome. Jerry and Getz deserve to retain the record. 🤣1 point

They only need to win 5 out of their last 35 games to avoid it, which will almost certainly happen. Hell, they may even catch the Sox before this season is over.1 point

I don't see much noticeable change with the White Sox in pitch mix: April-June, his four seam usage was right around 78.25% June through end of July it was 77.5% August and September it was 77% If the transformation was one less fastball per 100 pitches, I'm having a hard time buying it.1 point

He literally says "We changed some things" when asked the question about approaches between the Sox and Dodgers, lol.1 point

Saw that as well. The way they are playing they will pass it within the next two weeks. Good saddle JR with that record.1 point

Virtually inevitable after last two nights. Colson now in free fall and now dealing with the defensive lapse as well.1 point

Should we have been playing the kids, instead of playing shitty, washed up, old utility players? No, it's Hahns fault.1 point
