  1. Let’s just complain because the guy is from the Royals and not actually look at the performance of the pitchers under his guidance. 🙄

  2. Royals had some damn good pitching last year but don’t let that stop the narrative.

  3. If you want to give the assistant pitching coach credit for all of their successes why are we not blaming the White Sox current assistant pitching coach for the performances that got the guy above him fired? I hope he’s good, but face it, no one on this board has any idea, good or bad.

  4. Nothing wrong with hiring from the best organizations — the Marlins and Royals Bet they came cheap. 🤣

  6. If they got him back to play him again, it is one thing. If this is because they want to try to trade him for the same package of garbage they wouldn't take 3 months ago, this is stupid.

  7. The Luis Robert experience continues for one more year in Chicago. Maybe this is finally the year he stays healthy and puts up a monster year! Stop me if you've heard that one before...

  9. I really don't have opinions about the two hires. I've read interesting things about them. It seems that Getz isn't quite the micromanager that KW/Hahn were. This looks like Bannister/Fuller/Venable running the things they're supposed to.

  10. Martin Perez apparently declined his option. Sure buddy. Ok.

  11. I was gonna make a joke meatball post pretending to be mad because Royals/Marlins, but I guess I was beaten to the punch by actual posts.

  12. Some weird takes here even if cynicism is warranted. I for one welcome watching Robert, hopefully motivated, healthy and in a slightly better lineup for another 70 or so games. He's a joy to watch on defense if absolutely nothing else.

  13. Or posters here. It made no sense. Once Getz made the decision not to trade Robert, he must have also discussed picking up Robert’s option and it was approved by Jerry. Otherwise, you would simply trade Robert for whatever you could get, even if the return sucked. Plus, the payroll is still so low, even after Robert’s $20 million option.

  17. Yeah. I understand the move, but that doesn’t necessarily mean I like the move.

  20. Wow what a comeback. They looked so bad in the 1st quarter 76ers went ice cold the last 6 min of the game

  22. It was a completely different game in the 1980s. As someone who lived through it, basketball revolved around the big center. Michael changed the game 180 degrees, and no one really saw it coming.

  23. Don’t put it past them…if Perez doesn’t need their $10 million to make him their third biggest contract until Robert is traded. Ofc his mom or family already bad mouthed the Sox on social media. There’s always Clevinger, lol.

  26. I don't know enough about either of them to form much of an opinion, but KC had some very nice pitching performances last year from unexpected contributors, so I'm intrigued.

  28. https://www.sportsmediawatch.com/2025/10/monday-musings-streamers-bail-out-rsns-adam-silver/ From the above article, the five teams listed below are averaging $20 million in value, with the Twins probably at the very bottom. Makes it quite easy to put the White Sox in that same $12-18 million bucket...compared to $70 million they were previously receiving. "According to Andrew Marchand of The Athletic, baseball commissioner Rob Manfred and ESPN chairman Jimmy Pitaro have reached agreement on a deal that would give the network the rights to sell all out-of-market regular season games digitally — the current MLB.tv business model — as well as in-market games for the Minnesota Twins, Arizona Diamondbacks, San Diego Padres, Colorado Rockies, and Cleveland Guardians." Pirates Marlins Rays A's also with serious ongoing concerns with broadcasting deals, one would assume.

  29. Yeah and the payroll is so low. They should be willing to eat half (if not more honestly) to get the best package available). Hopefully some team is aggressive and thinks he can play to his potential and deals for him in the offseason.

  30. I think their desire is to trade him

  31. this is the move a team makes that isn't afraid of Money spending. The only issue is IF this blocks signing any top FAs on their radar (I KNOW. I KNOW).

  32. The other thing that's inarguably less valuable with Robert's current deal is that option years or financial commitments for 2027 are to be avoided rather than embraced...by all but the wealthiest of teams.

  33. Why some of the media acted like they weren’t going to pick it up was so weird. Getz literally said they were the entire time.

  34. Bottom 5-6 seems fair, but far too early for predictions before seeing how many other teams make no effort to improve in FA.
