I don’t know if I have ever seen a deadline acquisition fit and thrive as well as Naylor did in Seattle. Unless the M’s were stupid and lowballing, I don’t think anyone else really had a shot.3 points
-
Honestly though, Getz told everyone that Naylor is not the type of FA they are going after right now. Full stop. They aren’t spending that money and they aren’t wasting their time offering lesser contracts so they can be told no. There was no table, they aren’t in the restaurant.3 points

Mike's a nice guy, but it's a blog with either "here's something that's been reported", or "here's something the Sox should consider doing" articles. There's no original reporting. And there's about a half dozen platforms that do that. Bleacher Report, Fansided, SportsMockery.2 points

They changed up the front office with a guy who was already there. Who according to you had nothing to do with the stink. He just sat there for years doing nothing. And he was hired so they wouldn’t waste a year. And they didn’t. They set a record for futility.2 points
-
Which is exactly why Jerry wants a stadium in a location where he can draw more impulse fans, because the Sox are a very bandwagon fanbase. They take pride in it.2 points

Good for them. Probably the least surprising signing this off-season.2 points

This contract is the Benintendi special. I'm surprised so many people are interested in him. This is a more interesting proposition to me. The guy is an OBP machine with plus power. I think he transitions to MLB better than Murakami; a lot less swing and miss in his game.1 point

ChiSoxFanMike’s article below cites Yahoo Sports Japan’s reporting that “White Sox scouts were in attendance for a recent Japan vs. Korea exhibition game featuring star Japanese free agent infielder Kazuma Okamoto at the Tokyo Dome.” https://www.sportsmockery.com/chicago-white-sox/white-sox-are-reportedly-scouting-star-japanese-free-agent/1 point

Goff has always struggled against Vic Fangio's defense. He can not figure out Fangio's scheme and it has been that way for years. In fact, when the Rams played the Patriots in the Super Bowl a few years back, Belichick stole Fangio's entire scheme for that game and Goff struggled.1 point

We will have our seat reserved for all the kiddie tables. We do not make reservations for adult tables.1 point

Seems to be no one else had a seat at the table on this one? He wanted to be back there, and they wanted him back...?1 point

If you honestly think it was even a consideration I don't know what to tell you because you obviously haven't been paying attention.1 point

Brother Rice is pretty loaded but Lansu is awesome. 7A playoffs have been great. We're playing Oswego in the semis on Saturday.1 point

There also has been a rash of really low scoring ugly games across the league. And a lot of them in prime time1 point

While Caleb’s deep ball accuracy was a problem yesterday, it seemed like most of those throws were under considerable pressure. I don’t know what the problem was with the WRs but for whatever reason that mid route was a problem for them, both DJ and Burden dropped the same pass in the same spot, and DJ almost dropped a second. Weird day across the board for catching the ball, the Vikings had their own really weird issues holding onto it1 point

Ryan Fuller guy def more of a factor than any made up Royals connection.1 point

Is this in regards to Chris Getz or Reinsdorf? He was an internal hire and not one I would’ve made. Every move he’s made has been akin to an outside hire though at least.1 point

You're probably right. I find it odd that nobody in the Chicago media has interviewed the new owner.1 point

Darn, I thought for sure Jerry was going to approve Getz to offer him a 5-year deal. 🤣1 point

If they would just win consistently they wouldn't be bottom 5 in attendance consistently. Fans show up when the team is good, which unfortunately is not often and when it is good, it's not for long. If the team would just commit to winning consistently and for longer periods of time, we wouldn't have these attendance conversations nearly as much as we do. Honestly, I like it that fans don't show up when the team sucks. Bad entertainment doesn't deserve paying customers.1 point

Not sure how it's not business as usual. It would be signing a 32 year old coming off a career year... A guy who has graded out as a negative defender every year of his career, and by a good bit. Someone who between age 24 and 29 basically was worth 0 WAR over 450ish games. He won't demand a big contract, he's a strong-side-of-platoon bat, and he's projected for a little over 1 WAR. This is absolutely business as usual.1 point

bobby witt jr could end up on this team and this board would still be like "sigh another royal"1 point

When Benintendi was signed, he was supposed to be a complimentary player to the core of Abreu, TA, Robert, Jimenez, Moncada, Grandal, and Vaughn, not a cleanup hitter. Most of those had contracts with individual seasons at higher rates of pay of Benintendi. The idea he was signed to be a center piece of the Sox lineup is a rewriting of history. He was supposed to be a solid bat at the back of the lineup. Obviously, it didnt work out that way1 point

Yeah, it probably the White Sox who say the Schriff has to take a break. I know I like the broadcast better. McKnight might not be the greatest but at least he gives the audience some credit for having a clue as to what is going on.1 point

Mason Adams 100% gets taken in the R5 if Sox don’t protect him. He needs to be added to the 40-man.1 point

Wouldn't put it past him to not know who the Barons are. 😉1 point

Only broadcast (quite literally) I've heard this year worse than Sox is the Athletics. Nails on a chalkboard combined with zero baseball knowledge from their DEI hire.1 point

Jason Benetti is so much better than Schriffen it’s not even funny. Benetti is announcing the Oregon / Minnesota game tonight on FOX.0 points

I find it easy being a White Sox fan. I renew my season tickets every year and go to the games and just hope for the best.0 points
