  1. If you won’t allow yourself to get excited about Schultz because of those reasons, I truly don’t understand the point of following the Sox at all right now.
  2. Cant get rid of a versatile switch hitter like that just because of a bad first couple weeks.
  3. That bottom 3 and then Beni is probably the worst 4 consecutive hitters in Sox history. I'm starting to think this team is less talented than the 2024 team Might not lose more, but they are less talented.
  4. Sox need to put Antonacci at 2nd and leave him there. Miedroth is not a big league player and Antonacci is not an OF. They need to stop moving everyone around. I'm tired of having an OF full of infielders. You want outfielders start drafting and developing some.
  5. I’m sure he will claim how he spent all year fixing something internally and acting like he hasn’t been a part of the front office forever. He’s definitely in the running for the worst GM of all time.
  6. Acuna gets a hanger and hits it on the ground. He’s just not a major leaguer.
  7. We know the answer to that right!? Because of who he was traded for...and who made the trade to acquire him! Not saying that is justified...but it feels like the truth.

Every minute of time left with Jerry is an eternity. GTFO. NOW!
  9. This situation appears to me that nobody is being held accountable for this situation. I'm really starting to wonder about this Whits Sox manager. Last night Everson Pereira hit a home run. Tonight he didn't play. Wouldn't you want somebody in your lineup who just hit a home run? Yet he keeps running out Acuna who has been useless. I noticed at the end of the game the manager was laughing about something. I don't think this game was anything to laugh about. This is a terrible situation this team is in.There doesn't appear to be any light at the end of the tunnel. And it seems like the people running this don't care.
  10. All the waiver-wire deals Getz does with Tampa, only to his team flummoxed by Getz waivee Scholtens. Running a baseball organization just isn't his bag. Getz just isn't good at this.
  11. I'm sick of the whole it takes time to revamp an organization crapola. That buys him endless time. No major league team should be so friggin horrible for so long....he clearly has proven that he cannot judge talent.
  12. A fan just said “good eye, Reese…” Another fan said, “if you had such good eyes, you would’ve seen that cop coming…” Then another fan said, “grip it and rip it, Reese!” Ruthless.
  13. Getz and his soft tossing lefty relievers. Fire this fucking clown
  14. Was the promotion tonight empty seat giveaway to the first and only 1500 fans?
  15. Man, number 42 for the Sox is a bum
  16. This franchise is just an energy vampire. Not sure what will change it other than new owner.
  17. Hitting is contagious, if we had a couple guys who were producing regularly it would make everyone else better.
  18. I thought acuna would be a good defender in center, and while I haven't completely moved off that position, my confidence has dropped a ton. He's been horrible out there and im not sure it's all reps. The White Sox are last in baseball in every meaningful offensive category. "Hey guys we've gone from last to lesser last! Give me my due!"
  19. I expect if he does get 400+ AB he'll be one of the worst players in MLB and it's frustrating in year 3 of this "rebuild" to still be trying to find a decent big league outfielder.
  20. So you're saying the move is actually "No, MORE Benintendi!"
  21. But only if his trade value cratered first.
  22. So they totally just waited another day to sell tickets right?
  23. My guy, remember when WE was like "maybe he did start switch hitting." Then two days later he said "why do people think I make excuses for getz." Good times!
  24. I appreciate this post, it really highlights how Vargas is just as bad as Sosa is.
  25. So they waited a day? lol, uh, ok.
  26. Six factoids today: April 15, 1954 - The White Sox reintroduced baseball to Baltimore for the first time since 1902 as they played the new Baltimore Orioles as their first home opponent. The franchise had moved from St. Louis that off season. Virgil “Fire” Trucks got the start for the White Sox but the O’s beat them 3-1 on the afternoon starting a run of numerous unfortunate, strange and bizarre happenings at Memorial Stadium over the next 37 seasons. April 15, 1972 - The labor impasse, over the pension plan, caused regularly scheduled games to be cancelled for the first time ever. Opening day was consequently pushed back. The Sox opened in Kansas City and lost to the Royals 2-1 in 11 innings despite Dick Allen’s first White Sox home run. Allen blasted a shot in the ninth inning off Dick Drago to give the team a brief 1-0 lead. Kansas City would tie the game with two out in the ninth inning on a Bob Oliver home run off Wilbur Wood, then go on to win the game. The Sox would drop three consecutive one run games to the Royals to start the season, two in extra innings, but would end up with 87 wins in only 154 games and battle the eventual World Series champion Oakland A’s until the end of September. This series also marked the Major League debut for future Hall of Fame pitcher Rich “Goose” Gossage who pitched a scoreless inning in relief the next day for the White Sox. April 15, 1983 - Former Cub pitcher, Milt Wilcox had his perfect game ruined with two out in the ninth inning at Comiskey Park. Sox pinch hitter Jerry Hairston ripped a clean single up the middle. It was the only hit of the night for the Sox who lost to Detroit 6-0. It was only the third time, at that time, a perfect game was ruined with one out to go. Sox star pitcher Billy Pierce being one of the other two pitchers to have that happen to him when he lost his to the Senators on June 27, 1958. April 15, 1985 - In a game at Boston, pinch hitter Jerry Hairston collected his 51st safety in that role, setting the franchise record. Jerry would lead the league in pinch hits from 1983 through 1985 and would retire with 87 of them in his career. He also hit the last home run to set off Bill Veeck’s original exploding scoreboard in October 1981 and he hit it off future Sox pitching coach Don Cooper who was with the Twins. Hairston’s blast was a grand slam. April 15, 2006 – It was an incredible play. In the ninth inning of a game at U.S. Cellular Field against Toronto, Sox second baseman Tadahito Iguchi had to charge in on a slowly hit ball by Bengie Molina. His momentum carried him forward and because of it he left his feet and starting falling to the ground. Before he hit the field though, he got a throw off, despite being parallel to the playing surface. His throw was strong enough to get Molina at first. The Sox would win the game 4-2. April 15, 2024 – After getting shut out 2-0 by the Royals, the White Sox tied a dubious record. It marked the sixth time in 16 games they were held without a run to start a season. The last time that happened in the modern era was in 1907 to the Brooklyn Superbas.
  27. And he signed for 150k, so it wasn't like they couldn't fit him as an overslot pick. He was the 502nd pick of the draft. At 496 the Sox selected 22 year old Derek Cereda who has yet to play an organized MiLB game.
  28. Bonemer has a wRC+ in professional baseball as a young guy for his level of 211. Roch is at 156 in college. Bonemer has a chance to become a top 3 prospect in the sport if he keeps this up.

It's all about Jerry’s tax burden.
  30. Goal 1 - Achieved Goal 2 - Achieved Goal 3….come on lottery 🍀
  31. Bulls get the Blazers pick hell yeah.
  32. 1 point
As much as I want Jerry to hand over the reigns to Ishbia asap and not wait until 2029-2034, at this point it makes sense to hold off on that until at least after the upcoming labor dispute is settled.
  33. Watchability of the team is going to be a good bit better when he's back.
  34. 1 point
That power surge in the Venezuelan Winter League was obviously a result of bad pitching and meatballs. The Mets front office is probably still laughing at Getz about this trade.
  35. Is that another McGuire joke?
  36. Not Sox related but this is fitting. (Actually technically kinda if you count Kimbrel)
  37. I just realized the worst part about this: I have to find a new avatar.
  38. You are correct, sir! The issue is the team is weaker now that he is gone, and not only did Getz not improve the team, he didn't get anything for him.
  39. So what does that say about Sox management? From Statcast: In fewer PA, Sosa has more hits (many more in fact), HR, RBI; better BA (.40 pts higher), and SLG (.30 pts higher); and slightly better OPS. Vargas has a better OBP (.24 pts higher) because he walks significantly more. G PA AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI SB CS BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS Vargas 324 1222 1063 150 216 58 7 30 123 16 3 130 245 .203 .296 .356 .651 Sosa 315 1155 1101 102 270 43 1 37 128 5 3 36 263 .245 .272 .387 .659 At 3B, Sosa has a better Fld% (.964 to .950), which is slightly above league avg. Though both players are below league average in the following, Sosa has better Range, Fielding Run Value, and Outs Above Average. Vargas's error rate is 1.43 times (43.4%) higher than Sosa's. Vargas has played twice the innings at 3B as Sosa. Pos Inn E Fld% lgFld% OAA Range FRV Vargas 3B 1045.2 15 .950 .961 -9 -7 -7 Sosa 3B 500 5 .964 .961 -3 -2 -2 FWIW, Sosa has slightly better WAR. WAR Vargas 0.1 Sosa 0.3 Here's the bigger issue: these are (were) two of the best players on the team. So again, what does this say about Sox management?

And when people doubt Getz, or his ability to turn around the Sox, a large piece of it is because of the Jerry factor. We saw first hand JR sabotage Hahn, Williams, and every GM and AGM before them. I sure don't have faith that he isn't going to knecap Chris too.
  41. Hi8is is better than Bruce Levine.... oh wait, we just did that.
