Braden has enough whiff in his game that I really worry about the consequences of being too aggressive promoting him. Not to mention that you want to give him reps from both sides of the plate. Entering today, he only had 6 plate appearances against left-handed pitchers all season.
  2. Congrats to Noah Schultz. First of many hopefully in a White Sox uniform.
  3. There goes another one of those Sacramento specials
  4. The White Sox are dead last in MLB in total revenue. They trail the #29 team by about 20 percent. What doesn't make sense is to keep doing the same things they did to make them dead last.
  5. Shoulda been a sweep.
  6. it's 75 degrees with 9mph winds. chicago last week.

If the pitcher was on deck, he would have walked him. I don’t think he or the miraculously put together staff bothered looking farther ahead. Spectacularly bad managerial decision. Fits right in with the rest of what has been going on.

You read the same crap about Chris Getz because the same crap keeps happening.

And with that rousing victory the Sox now move into only 3rd worst in MLB RD at -31 through 1/8 of the season. Fire him? EXTEND HIM!
  10. Clearly the Sox are not making Taylor a closer. I question why they've accelerated his clock the way they have without a defined role in mind for him. The bullpen usage the last two days indicates that winning is not their priority this season. They clearly are prizing development over results, which... when you're getting the 10th pick anyway and you're trying to avoid an unprecedented 4th straight 100 loss season... I dunno. I'm kind of tired of the mentality.
  11. Just take the L bro.
  12. Such a weak swing Vargas has
  13. There are so many quality pieces of Sox and Chicago history that could be chosen and incorporated into Sox Park that with some creativity you could build a gem. Plus if they can build an OF angle open to the skyline and build the entrance at the top of the 100 level, you fix a lot of the new Parks screw ups.
  14. This has been the case for the last few years with predictable results. Has been's; stiffs; retreads; cast-offs and injury prone guys just hoping to hang around.
  15. The San Diego Padres are about to be sold for double that price ($3.9 billion) the person Jerry hurt most with his negligence is actually himself, as this franchise could be valued there.
  16. The entire organization has just gotten used to and accepted losing. When is the last time you saw a player show even the slightest frustration? No one is breaking a bat or throwing anything in the dugout, not that it would improve things but hey at least show that you hate losing. I don't see any kind of quick fix either. There is very little young talent in the farm system. And if you have an owner that isn't going to spend it is pretty hopeless until that owner is gone and then hopefully the new one will spend. The thing I don't understand about JR is why is he willingly just letting this franchise die? He says that baseball is his first love. You can't take your 2 billion dollars with you. Your reputation and legacy is going to be that you were a cheapskate who ruined the White Sox. Why wouldn't you do whatever to have a successful competitive team to enjoy for your last few years?
  17. For "relievers". That's not closers. There are 20 player's with 3, or more, saves in MLB currently. Of them none have an equal, or worse, save rate than Anthony. He is dead last.
  18. Right off google: AI Overview As of 2025, the league-wide average save percentage for MLB relievers is approximately 63%. As usual, you’re completely full of BS!
  19. Maybe we overrate him
  20. Man I thought that last ball was crushed off the bat. Luckily it was suppressed by the hitting conditions in Sacramento. Makes you appreciate even more the homers the Sox hit today.
  21. Getting outs, baby!!!!
  22. awful defense. manager asleep at the wheel. he was clearly tired.
  23. I switched to the A's broadcast for this game
  24. It's actually pretty rude you make us look at him all the time.
  25. Man I miss hawk and wimpy
  26. Well to be fair ... With this bullpen.....
  27. Who is claiming they are? The Sox are socking dingers on a beautiful Sunday afternoon while Schultz is in line for his first win. Simply enjoy it instead of working yourself into a lather trying to convince us why we shouldn't enjoy it.
  28. Another stupid fake HR, what a shame
  29. Nah sorry. You can't celebrate homers anymore.
  30. Lol. You would think the Sox are losing this game reading the posts. Game threads are a trip.

  32. For me it all started with hiring Robin, which kinda set the course to where we are today. Winning is not a priority.
  33. 2 out HRs are awesome
  34. ball REALLY flies there in summer months
  35. That feels like way too high of a bar IMO. There’s no reason it CAN’T be that good, but I don’t necessarily think it NEEDS to be. It’s such a great site that I actually think it’ll be pretty hard to screw up.
  36. I agree. It'll need to be PNC/Oracle/Petco Park good. I don't think anything they do will turn people against Wrigley at this point. But there's enough room in Chicago for two "must see" ballparks, especially a well-designed one with its own unique features - right up against downtown, along the riverwalk, accessible by water taxi, etc.
  37. The injuries aren’t helping, but neither is the weird roster churn. The Sox are loaded with guys who are the 26-30th man on an mlb roster: Peters, Hill, Acuna, McGuire, Nikhazy, Sims, Bido, Hudson, Murray. That’s 9 guys, over a third of the roster. Feel the momentum.
  38. If a new park is built at the 78 it has to be a jewel like PNC park that our fans and the casual fan absolutely love and visitors to Chicago have it on their bucket list, it has to wind up at near or at the top of the list of the baseball park rankings. It should be so good that Wrigley would be a failure by comparison.

Somewhere, @Harold's Leg Lift is sitting in his straight off the lot, Jeep Grand Cherokee and bashing his head against the steering wheel at the sight of Chris Getz failing and Kelenic busting out of the league in the Sox organization
  40. It's still incredible to me how the Sox haven't been able to produce a competent outfielder.

Well I hate gossip, but I've heard they may be protesting the trade of Lenyn Sosa.
  42. Bring up Braden Montgomery? Why? They're still looking at 1 1/2 to 2 years before competitiveness, and will have to replace Murakami as well.
  43. I’d rather him stay in the minors and away from this cursed team.
  44. This is my guess based on everything I've seen. I know there's text that says 'Phase 1 is the ballpark' but that contradicts the renderings. Pure speculation on my part, just piecing things together: #1 - The entertainment district: Bars, restaurants, retail, a riverwalk, and parking Silver line - This would be the primary walking route from Roosevelt to the ballpark: The Riverwalk leading to the bridge. Yellow line - Cars would enter via 18th & Canal, keeping traffic coming from 90/94 west of the river and cutting down on some of the Roosevelt congestion concerns. Rideshare drop off could be down there, too. Red line - Bridge to the Fire stadium (the most speculative/made up thing here. I don't even know if it's possible, I'm no engineer) #2 - Phase 2 must be Ishbia's Northwestern Medical project I've seen mentioned a few times
  45. Guys I see nothing but private equity and I’m disgusted
  46. For sure. Trading Semien and Bassitt plus Tatis for basically nothing should also factor in this timeline. The Sox were trying to build sustained success with no LATAM or Asian pipeline, no top end free agents, and little help coming from their drafts. It's not surprising just trading for a bunch of top prospects and doing the bare minimum everywhere else wasn't sustainable, and ended up bottoming out as the worst team of all time.
