  1. For the Presidents of the Antonacci fan club @ron883 @Look at Ray Ray Run
  2. This is Soxtalk. You will need to specify the direction.
  3. Good clean win, the guys continue to avoid long L streaks. Heckuva job by Fedde today. He understood the assignment and delivered 5 scoreless. Also congrats to Taylor for his 100th career strikeout in under 70 innings. Bradley's inability to pitch well against the White Sox fascinates me. Career 10.47 ERA and 2.33 (!!) WHIP in 4 games. Came into this stretch of 10 games up 1 on the Twins, and they leave it up 4.5 after going 7-3. Their run differential is now the best in the division (even though Cleveland never loses), and T-3 in the AL. Just gotta stay afloat until they get healthier.
  4. He's doing his job right now, at a time when the team really needs it with Mune out.
  5. SUCK IT BENI HATERS!!!
  6. Good bounceback game for Ant other than that blip on the bases
  7. So stop complaining. Jesus this board.
  8. How do the Sox feel about him exactly? You honestly think they feel he isn’t a high end defensive SS because they play him at 3B some? If not, why do you think they keep doing this? Do they just like playing guys out of their optimized spots for fun? You must have some theory on the why behind this malpractice. Also, several cracks in your post. Colson definitely does NOT have the best range amongst SS’s per Statcast. Witt’s OAA is more than double Colson’s and is hands down the best. And while I do think Colson is a tremendous defensive SS, it’s funny that you ignore DRS where he’s currently at -1. Most importantly, Colson has also been elite at 3B, which is part of the reason his OAA is in the 100th percentile (that isn’t just SS). SSS, but when adjusted for playing time, his 3B defenses would amongst the very best by both OAA/FRV & DRS. If you compare Colson’s fWAR per PA, it’s nearly identical between SS & 3B right now (and that’s using Statcast defensive data). As such, from a total value consideration, when Vargas or Murakami needs a day off, the question becomes who is the best backup at SS or 3B since Colson can provide high value at both spots. And it’s very clear they don’t love their other 3B options from a defensive standpoint, which is why we’ve seen Colson shift to 3B in such scenarios. So Venable isn’t really an idiot, but trying to optimize the roster as currently constructed. When Murray was on the bench, Venable kept Colson at SS when Vargas or Murakami needed time off and would play Tanner at 3B. I will not defend the relentless bunting as I find it to be incredibly stupid, but I refuse to be upset about a manager rotating around a guy between two spots he’s extremely good at defensively to optimize the broader lineup.
  9. 3 points
Clutch walkoff 2R double for Wolkow on 2 strikes Had the late gamewinner HR yesterday too
  10. LOL Yeah I think it's supposed to be step away from the ledge not off it .You don't exactly want to be plummeting to your death.
  11. Great win. Actually sad there is no Sox baseball for 48 hours. Can't remember the last time I felt that. Let's go take 2/3 in Philly and finish .500 on the road trip. Looking forward to Plesac in the booth and the return of the South Side Rally Polo.
  12. Wasn’t exactly crucial but I think we needed that win today.
  13. They'd probably have to pay at least half his contract to dump him for anything worthwhile. We're better off platooning him at DH for the rest of the year. He's probably gonna end up with a wRC+ around 100, which while not ideal, is not the end of the world. I also don't think he's really blocking anyone down in the minors unless you think Gonzalez should be DHing over him. You wouldn't bring up Montgomery to take his spot as a DH.
  14. Why didn't they do this in the first two games. Just win 8-0 every time. Easy.
  15. Andrew Murakami
  16. He has had two tough games after having a pretty damn good homestand.
  17. Yep but the pitches before that were good pitches to hit. He’s pulling off everything
  18. I will keep my mouth shut but.... this would be hilarious if what could happen does happen
  19. It'll be nice in about a month when hopefully the lineup includes Mune, Teel, B Montgomery, with Gonzalez staying. That's a lineup with a lot of depth.
  20. Outscored them 18-15 in the series and could have been more. Offense was excellent. SP came back to earth some and defense wavered a bit, but solid series and played better than 1-2 indicates.
  21. I think it's overly dramatic to say todays game is a "must win", but with the gauntlet of Phillies/Braves/Dodgers/Yankees coming up it aint getting easier. We do catch a break and will miss both Sanchez and Wheeler in PHI. Martin will also start 2/6 of the Braves/Dodgers home stand barring no changes in the order.
  22. If this was posted already, I apologize. During the telecast Schriff mentioned that Joe Ryan said the White Sox are the team to beat in the AL Central. Respect!!!!
  23. Early shades of Cliffe Politte & Neal Cotts in 2005
  24. Perhaps I'm being too pessimistic. I wouldn't overreact to this start. Hold the course, live through the upcoming negotiations, and enjoy the ride. I didn't see any viable trade that makes this a world series winning team. Any impact player would likely create a different hole.
  25. Thanks KW Hahn Getz JR!!! We're not worthy!
  26. Erick Fedde: our new stopper! 😄
  27. He will get in through the little known Friends and Family Committee.
  28. I know, i know. It's the overreacts on a 4-0 game that ended up 8-0. It's 162 game marathon! The alternative was the last 2 years. I'm just happy to have somewhat competent play.
  29. Losing battle amigo, fans complain. It's the nature of sports or people and game thread are the worst . If you DFA'd everyone since the beginning of the season that just 1 fan said DFA him or send him down, there'd be half the team gone and the whole front office narrative of fire everyone. You run into the mods who will tell your that you're complaining about the complainers , follow your own advice, gaslighting or don't tell me how to fan.
  30. Well, everyone can step off the ledge for a day.
  31. He has negative value because he's a league average bat at DH making $15 mil a year.
  32. Murphy has looked impressive!
  33. I have no idea, I don't know where that gets updated in real time. Im sure he's still negative, he was at -0.6 coming into this game.
  34. I'll say it: on TV Rate Field looks way nicer than this newish Twins park. Way too much foul area for a modern park and awful sitelines it appears. Steep upper decks too.
  35. He's a negative WAR player over his Sox career, including -.6 coming into this game. He's flat out not good enough period. Stick his ass at the bottom of the lineup, this is not someone you want getting the most AB's in the game.
  36. Great game for Ant at the plate
  37. I'll take this opportunity with the John Tumpane mention on the broadcast to say that I played little league with him and he went to my high school. He got mercilessly teased because he got a perm in his sophomore year.
  38. Nice inning for Taylor. Love seeing him come in and pump strikes.
  39. Slumping while 12th in MLB in fWAR. We'll take it.
  40. Are they that young? I get McGonigle, but who else? Dingler, I guess, but Greene is a vet at this point. Torkelson is just a guy. Carpenter is a hot and cold platoon bat. They need some of their prospects to come through for sure.
  41. I wonder what one playoff run is worth given that he’d also cost over 10 mil in salary. A comp pick with the additional bonus pool money is not nothing. You’d need to get a couple of pretty decent prospects to make it worth your while.
  42. Nice snag by Nishida there
  43. Vintage Fedde here today.
  44. This is a high risk, high reward offense. Don't get upset over a strikeout or double play when you already have a 4 run lead... it's literally how their core is constructed
  45. 4 per inning should do the trick, but gonna be close
  46. James Fegan continuing to do awesome work. Piece on Wolkow well worth the read. https://soxmachine.com/2026/06/power-hitting-white-sox-prospect-george-wolkows-recent-hot-streak-has-a-tweak-behind-it
  47. I love Canadian club, always get laughed at when I say it’s one of my faves.
