Truce. The playoffs are a reality now. The Sox are in it, we all just watched a young, fun team do something none of us could have truly predicted. Let’s bury grudges, arguments, resentment until the playoffs are over. That doesn’t mean don’t argue, that doesn’t mean put on a happy face about everything. That means things that have been going back and forth for 8 months stops until the playoffs are over. Forget what that person said in March, ignore the doom predictions made after the brewers series, and for gods sake let’s keep getz employed for a few more weeks. I’m not calling out anyone in specific, I am certainly guilty of both being incredibly pessimistic and bringing up old s%*#. It doesn’t have to be forever, let’s just enjoy the end of this summer ride into October and try to be a united front. Deal?

Currently at 3.0 fWAR on the season, which is a 4.3 win season pace. That fWAR ranks 2nd overall on the team behind Vargas and is the best in the AL amongst all 2B. His 121 wRC+ ranks 2nd overall amongst AL 2B. Yes, a lot of blue on his Statcast page, but don’t ignore that 87th percentile squared up rate. There is a reason this kid has 11 bombs already despite below average raw power. He’s an intelligent hitter who has two elite skills and still trying to find the appropriate trade-offs to optimize his output. He’s currently ranked in the 92nd percentile for OAA and is constantly making great plays out there. Him and Colson are absolutely fantastic at turning double plays. In the event of injury, the kid could slide over to SS and give you average defense there. He is heady player who does the small things on the field that make a big difference. The kid is also the heart & soul of the team. He plays the game with an intensity second only to Pyscho Sam. Every time there is a big moment he’s the first one out there to celebrate with his teammates. To say he brings the fire would be an understatement. His role in the clubhouse is a key part of this team exceeding expectations this year. Ultimately this kid is an absolute stud. Hands down Chase is my favorite player on this roster and last night’s clutch performance only cemented that for me. At this point, it’s not Meidroth who should be worried about Roch’s eventual arrival. IMO, he should be our starting 2B for the next five years and I could give two fucks if the haters disagree.

I will be honest, it might have gotten him in the door at the beginning, but it is no where near why he is one of the best in the business. I can't think of another person in sportscasting who has the versatility that he does. He sits down in three different sports and sounds like he does any particular one of them all of the time. He's sits down with different partners and sounds like he has been on the air with whoever it is, forever. He has a light touch, and is perfectly willing to get his partner engaged as much as possible. Dude is one of the best in the business.

My wife told me 3.5 is actually huge. So I'm feeling pretty good about this division lead.

He’s not much more expensive than O’Hearn would have been with an incredible amount more of upside and flip potential. There is no downside to this deal, as let’s be honest, they’ve wasted 17 mil a year on 3 veteran signings most offseasons.

I haven’t watched every pitch this season, but…Sean Newcomb should seemingly have like an 8 WAR, because I don’t know where this team would be without him this year. Just a fantastic signing (I’m sure Getz didn’t even expect this performance)

Put me on record — this is stupid. Offense-starved team refuses to give a shake to a young cost-controlled player who can hit a little bit. Maybe the skeletons will suddenly fall out of the closet to make this make more sense but to me this is just Getz not liking Sosa's game on an aesthetic level and feeling unwilling to figure out how to use him.

Some weirdo was harassing Harold on here, constantly making comments about Jeep Wranglers. Then some other psycho poster (probably an alt account for the other guy) basically confronted Harold and accused him of being the White Sox’s assistant scouting director who also happens to own a Jeep dealership. Unclear the truth of that, but doesn’t seem crazy given the inside info Harold had shared on this site. Also, based on what the psycho guy was saying in his accusations, he was either Haber himself or had a close relationship with Haber and held some sort of grudge against Harold, although I can’t recall if it was simply because he didn’t like him leaking White Sox business or something deeper & more personal. And shortly after the more direct accusations, Harold was gone forever and now we rely on the Times for India for our scoops.

The adrenaline of pitching in front of sold out crowds at the Rate will offset all of that.

Big series win for your first place Chicago White Sox! With 61 wins, they have surpassed 2025's win total with 45 games remaining. They have 8 series wins, 2 splits, and 3 losses since last hosting CLE in June, despite the season apparently being over (at least) twice a week during that time. They lead the CLE season series 6-4, which means just one win in the remaining road series to secure the extra edge. DET won and MIN lost, so suddenly the Tigers have ridden an easy stretch of their schedule into 2nd place with the Sox 3.5 up. But DET and CLE face off next, which means one of them has to lose ground (and barring a sweep, both will still be under .500). Twins will be hosting the O's. Congrats to Hagen on career win #1 in his debut.

Have had some tough opponents/starters since the ASB: @TOR, @TEX, HOU, NYY, @TBR, @BOS, CLE. Finished 11-11. I take that every day.

Sean Burke vs. Sonny Gray. Going to be a fantastic pitching matchup. Team should be hungry after its ass whipping yesterday. Burke is also from Massachusetts so I’d expect he’ll be amped up pitching in front of friends & family. It’s going to feel like a playoff game tonight. I flew into Boston last night with the wife & eldest son and will be in attendance. I refuse end the day without a White Sox win. Let’s fucking go!
