They’re totally gonna win 2 of 3 and people will say they’ve turned a corner for real this time.

8/19 Gamethread: White Sox vs. The Artist Formerly Known As The I****ns, Lynn vs. McKenzie
This right here. This team is bound to be “in it” right up to the very end because they hate us all.

8/18 Finale vs. Astros (Giolito v. Garcia RHP) 1:10 PM
We have different definitions of great.

8/18 Finale vs. Astros (Giolito v. Garcia RHP) 1:10 PM
We've been saying this sort of thing for stretches of games for at least a month now. I think the likeliest outcome is they once again tread water for those 7 games and don't gain much ground, but don't fall enough back. And then we repeat the "these next X games are the season" thing again.

Jay Cuda we need the stuff in eye leaderboard.

Luis Robert hurt. Again.
Love choosing to play a man down for a week when every game is crucial.

2022 AL Central catch all thread
So the Twins sweep the Royals. It’s almost as if KC is bad and you shouldn’t lose 3 out of 4 to them.

Momentum or Big Tease?
I can't shake the feeling that they're gonna return to the uninspiring .500 team by the time they're in Cleveland, but that's all the raining I'll do on this parade. The past two nights have been -- what's the word -- exciting? Doth not cease forthwith, lads.

08/16: Astros at Sox. 7:10, NBCSN (CEASE V VERLANDER)
Such a lazy hit by Moncada

08/16: Astros at Sox. 7:10, NBCSN (CEASE V VERLANDER)
Vince Velasquez pitching important innings in an important game in the middle of the contention window is certainly something.

08/16: Astros at Sox. 7:10, NBCSN (CEASE V VERLANDER)
I 100% agree. Hell, Robert at 50% is probably better than anything we have. But with his knack for injuries, its easy to imagine one day of 70% Robert and then 4 more days off cuz he reaggravated it.

08/16: Astros at Sox. 7:10, NBCSN (CEASE V VERLANDER)
Eh, I think there’s plenty of room for something in between, as opposed to the either/or you mention. A 4 or 5 day injury is not that uncommon, and would not be IL worthy. It’s just that this team has mismanaged or withheld information about injuries all year that it’s almost impossible to trust them at this point. So I totally get why you say that.

That's a Come Back White Sox Winner !!
I would assume they deemed Robert pinch running too much of a risk with the wrist issue. I think I'd prefer Engel over him in that spot anyway. But yeah, to your first point, it sure seems like the coaching staff has taken on the sleepiness of the manager.

That's a Come Back White Sox Winner !!
If I'm keeping score correctly...fans DO have a right to be upset, they'll just be referred to as haters for doing so, though.

McGuire Throws Shade at Sox Clubhouse
Here's what I think it says about him: That he got traded to a new team and dropped some cliché lines about being happy to be on his new team, as literally almost every single professional athlete does when they get traded. What a wild hill to die on.

McGuire Throws Shade at Sox Clubhouse
Popping off? Ripping? Are we reading the same quote?
-
McGuire Throws Shade at Sox Clubhouse
The fact that this thread is 3 pages long is a good indicator of how bored we are with this team.

8/12 Gamethread: Tigers @ Sox, Norris v. Kopech
1 pitch. If anyone can find a way to do it, it's these schmoes.

Moncada
Yoan has been terrible. We can all agree on that. But making rather large assumptions about his character based on body language and laughing in the dugout is really judgmental and just kind of weird.
-
Fire Rick Hahn
I have such little faith in the organization that at this point I’d just welcome seeing a different person fail in the role.
-
Fire Tony Chant
What a waste of two years.

Menechino is movable
The lack of deadline moves and keeping Menechino around feel similar to me in a silent white flag kind of way, with both decisions suggesting that the rest of this season is not a priority. Why invest more in this team when you don’t truly believe in it? Why make a hitting coach change now when you can “show accountability” by doing it after the season ends? Just trying to make sense of it all.
