You realize they are never going to change but you hold out hope things will change, and never do. Every so often they’ll surprise you with a good deed, and you think this may be the turning point, but they always go back to their old ways. You’ve given up on them, but deep down all you want is for them to love you back, even though you know it won’t happen.
