I just read on WGN website the Bears have chosen Arlington Heights. Smart move. Everything about the decision is correct IMO. In the article it said 50 percent of Bears ticket holders live within 25 miles of Arlington Hts.

lol yep, they sure do

Fernando Mendoza...Indiana/Cal

Arch Manning...likely 2027

LaNorris Sellers...S.Carolina

Garrett Nussmaier...LSU

John Mateer...OU/WSU

Dante Moore...Oregon

Carson Beck...Miami

ASU QB Sam Leavitt...already lost big game to MissState but that had a totally fluky ending

Drew Allar...PSU

Cade Klubnik...Clemson

Only two guys that might be THAT guy at the next level IMO are Sellers and Mateer...for now Mateer closer to end of second round but rising fast

Michigan kid has a big-time arm but not much of an instinctive runner

There’s no way you could allow Poles another crack at drafting a quarterback, right? If Williams doesn’t work out, it’s a “generational” f up. Especially since we suspect the Bears did not take the time to research other QBs

My dude, you need to calm yourself lol.  This isn’t over because of Monday, and Poles just signed an extension.  Buckle up

Williams has a lot of flaws, but he also has a ton of upside.  I really get the impression that this is the first real coaching that he has gotten as a professional, so I am definitely willing to give him this as if it was his rookie year.  He obviously needs to get tightened up on his reads and his throws, but at the same time you can't deny the toolbox.  Keep working with him and see what happens because we are a ways away from even knowing what Caleb is.

There is a long way to go, and given what they invested into Caleb, and how much he is tied to Poles....they are going to give him EVERY chance to succeed.

But, Flash just asked the question "There’s no way you could allow Poles another crack at drafting a quarterback, right?"

That could be after the conclusion of the 2026 season (so the Bears give Caleb all of this year and all of next year to see what he can do)

If at that point, with like 48-50 games under his belt...if they are in the same spot that they were with Mitch and Justin, I think it's a valid question...does Poles get a crack at finding the next QB? The answer is unfortunately probably yes, given Poles reportedly had two more years left on his deal and the Bears already gave him an extension (for what, I have no idea) but he's 15-36 as a GM, and if they are in a position to draft a QB after the 2026 season that record is going to be worse than it is now. At what point is enough enough?

Long way down the road, and we're all hoping it never gets to that point, but it's not a totally unfair question.

Rattler...

Hurts...

Mayfield...

Kyler Murray...

K.Williams...

Mateer?  Jackson Howard at Auburn?  Michael Hawkins Jr.

And then there's Sam Bradford as well.

How much of that success is/was the OU system vs. Lincoln Riley vs. sheer raw physical talent/recruiting?

5/32 starting QB's tied to just one school is pretty unusual.

Or was it more Riley?  If so, what happened?

Or just the incredible amount of talent surrounding QB at the skill positions for much of that time?

Prior to the extension, Poles still had 2 more years left on his original contract.  Now he is here through the 2029 season on the 3-year extension.  What a stupid and needless extension.  It wasn’t like he was a lame duck GM going into his final season under contract.  What did Poles even do to justify a premature 3-year extension?  The McCaskey’s are clueless.

I don’t disagree at all, I would want to see some progression in the win column before I offered that paper

Parsons' effect on the Packers defense is a lot like the effect Mack had on the Bears in 2018. All of a sudden, everyone on the team goes from mid at just about everything to being good at everything.

Williams is trending towards a solid but not franchise QB. I think he can build on that performance but it's worrying that his body language in the 2nd half seemed to match the quality of his play. He seems like a guy that lets things spiral mentally instead of playing down to down. Opposite of what JJ showed.

Swift sucks and should never ever be a primary back. At best he should split carries. He's such a waste of a down on 2nd an 3rd and short. Need to find someone else.

Division looks to be GBs after week last night. We'll learn more about everybody else this weekend. One of the Bears or Lions will be buried at 0-2 and 0-2 in the division.

Williams may end up being a good QB, perhaps even the best in franchise history. But as it stands, I think people are disappointed and worried because he hasn’t shown us much and he was called a generational talent. There were professionals saying he was the best they ever saw, better tools than Manning, etc.

It’s hard to hear that stuff and then watch him play like every other QB we’ve ever had.

Also, we have like no running game. Every handoff seemed destined to fail immediately.

Let’s not pretend we don’t all know who that’ll be.

I’m willing to give Ben a little more time to shape the run game, but yeah, the lack of offseason activity to address that position was really disappointing.

Gosh, you think there's any connection between no running game and the QB's performance?  And doesn't overthrowing and the ball not coming out fast enough sound like the last guy? (This guy is a better scrambler, though.)

I think right now there are a lot of similarities between Fields and Caleb. Tons of athleticism, talent is there, but the processing, accuracy and consistency just doesn’t seem to be there. And I don’t know if it gets better. We’re gonna find out
