Hope we see a lineup with both Quero and Teel in it today

1B- Elko

DH- Quero

C- Teel

I haven't looked to see which arm the Royals pitcher throws with today but a day game after a night game usually means Teel wouldn't be catching today. Could he play 1st base today ? You never know. Or Teel could DH with Quero catching.

I would assume Quero would catch and Teel DH since he caught last night. That's assuming we get both in the lineup - we'll probably end up with Palacios, Taylor, and Capra.

I'd like to see something like this:

Meidroth      SS (R)
Tauchman    RF (L)
Vargas           3B (R)
Beni               LF (L)
Robert          CF  (R)
Teel               DH (L)
Elko               1B (R)
Quero            C  (S)
Rojas             2B  (L)

Rojas             2B  (L)

Once Montgomery is in the lineup instead of Rojas, I like lots.

Couldn’t have predicted it better myself.

I’m sure you meant to say the Royals.

Once Lenyn Sosa returns, would you prefer Colson in the line-up over him?  I think Montgomery has a lot to prove while Sosa has been hitting the ball hard.

Thank you and it's the RH Wacha .

So our lefties are Palacios, Teel, Quero, Rojas, Benintendi Tauchman. Most of them played last night along with RHs Robert, Vargas Meidroth and Elko.

I'm curious to see how many of  the guys who played last night are in the lineup . Some, of course, have to be. Meidroth and Vargas are 2 who didn't hit well yesterday. Maybe Teel plays 1st base and Elko sits.

I pretty much agree with this proposed lineup, but I not confident in Robert's improvement yet that I want him batting behind Beni. Beni is really getting walked a lot lately because he has no protection. I like Elko and want him playing, but for today, can Slater play 1st (does he play 1st) and bat behind Beni; just for today.

But I want as good of a lineup as possible for the next two games, none of our good bats resting yet. They get Monday off. So, no Capra and no Palacious unless situational for today or Sunday.

I agree with this. Everybody keeps talking about Colson and Ramos coming up. Where are they going to play? You can't sit down Vargas or Meidroth, and I don't think either one has a bat close to as good as Sosa's.  I don't know why everyone seems to dismiss Sosa; he's really doing a good job this year with the bat, and I am, at least, as confident in his defense as I am with Colson or Ramos.

Montgomery has more upside, but Sosa would be an upgrade as well.

Sosa should get the starting 2B spot until Colson is ready. Then Sosa becomes the super utility guy, or goes down to AAA if he can't fix some of his underlying issues.

While I am in favor of Colson getting more minor league at bats now and for at least another month or so , the C. Montgomery the Sox envision is needed very badly . They need power and another guy who knows how to take a walk while providing adequate defense be it at 3rd or SS.

The Sox would be fine with the ideal version of Colson at SS and Meidroth at 2nd for a long term solution.

While I have stuck up for Sosa this year he does not fit the ideal vision of high OBP the Sox have . But there is no hurry to get Colson in the lineup right now since he keeps getting hit by pitches and missing games. He still has to show that the things he and Fuller accomplished in his Arizona hiatus will stick.

Elko needs to hit a bomb during this series to renew confidence in him.

With Teel up he's got maybe a few weeks to prove he's worth a roster spot. I'd imagine if Colson keeps hitting they swap him out for Elko by the end of June. Sosa should also be back in a few weeks.

Everyone seems to love the lineup, that means the Sox will have less than 5 hits today.

In the "what have you done for me lately?" department ... The Royals have clobbered the Sox in something like 18 of the last 20 meetings or whatever it is, winning series after series.

Now because of one series that our Sox are destined to sweep the KC fans are all upset and want major changes including getting rid of the manager. Only way to shut up fans is to win every game. That's how it is and always will be. Look at the Knicks throwing a fit and firing a coach who actually made that woebegone franchise a winner.
