  1. You’re just mad Mercedes isn’t the father. Might be the only time he would have scored this year.

  4. It would be swell if people did, like, at least 1 minute of reading about complications other than death. And if not, maybe have an ounce of consideration for the person standing next to them.

  5. They didn't punt the 2019 draft to do it at all. That's not factual. They took James Beard in round 4. They also added: Chase Krogman, Logan Glass, DJ Gladney, Misael Gonzalez and Victor Torres as prep talents on day 3. Some high upside college relievers like McKinley Moore and Caleb Freeman. That is absolutely not punting. They did this year but they got two top 20 players in a 5 round draft.

  7. The part of this situation that makes me really mad is the poor day workers just trying to put food on the table getting fucked by this. Is the MLB testing the locker room attendants? Hotel staff? The people staffing the chartered flights? Whatever poor soul that has to try and sanitize the stadium now (who certainly definitely is properly trained and outfitted for THAT task)? Normal people are going to get infected from this, and their options (compared to the millionaires and billionaires in baseball) are much worse. They also don't have MLBPA health insurance if things go wrong, which they could especially considering they are probably much older than MLB players are. There is a real chance that people die, or have life-long complications, or lose everything after getting buried in medical debt because of this. I'm just so livid right now, fuck Manfred, fuck the MLB, and fuck greed.

  10. I appreciate this explanation, thank you. I disagree but I’ll respect it. We’re in polar world right now, it hit a hot button to suggest Kopech is somehow off limits, regardless of the situation.

  11. You must really want to speculate about Kopech's wife. Trying to equate sports owner cheapness, a common topic on sports boards, to antisemitism in order to make your point seems a tad excessive, considering the original topic isn't even worth talking about to begin with. Kind of distasteful to just throw out antisemitism accusations over this horse shit issue, frankly.

  12. We've gone mad as a country. I saw a montessori school holding class yesterday and all the parents mingling for pickup in the hallway. It's because of selfish people that we can't get over this.

  16. Well if the season is cancelled, at least it answers the question of “will the world end of Gio starts for the Sox”.

  17. Nah, I like it here. Just want to protect free speech as it pertains to white sox baseball and the decisions of players that effect the team.

  18. I actually could careless about what happened to him or why he’s not pitching. I wish him well and hope he battles in the Sox rotation next year and years to come. I’m just tired of shutting down conversations because someone didn’t like it or got their feelings hurt.

  19. You know, considering my relative was good friends with Reinsdorf due to their involvement AEPi, I feel like I can speak with authority on this. No, it's not. Now if people were saying he was being "miserly", "Jewy, etc., or used certain imagery, yeah, that's anti-Semitic. Saying he's cheap due to not wanting to spend big on free agents, draft picks, etc. is not. He has spent on the Sox in recent years (especially on amateur talent), so the mantra is weak and may be rooted in fan ignorance and lack of wanting to do research about spending habits (likely) or rooted in anti-Semitism (unlikely, because I'm gonna guess most fans don't know he's Jewish, because most people aren't that attentive). So, don't use our people as a shield because we're not allowing you to speculate about the personal life about a young man during a difficult point in his life. This where my piece ends on the matter.

  20. It was formulated as a question, never made an accusation. It matters to some because people want to understand Kopech’s decision that impacted the team. No one is saying it was the wrong decision, but shutting down the conversation as to the details potentially leading to the decision is shortsighted.

  21. Well, you just accused probably tens of thousands of Sox fans of antisemitism just to make an entirely unrelated point. I'm all for open dialogue, but that seems like a jack ass move to me, particularly considering the topic at hand. Who gives a shit about anyone's baseless opinion on who someone may or may not have had sex with in the first place?

  31. The alternative to taking this not seriously is no baseball. It took 3 days for this to happen. Hopefully this serves as a lesson for schools. Even with all of the precautions and resources in the world, the most socially distant of sports in the US took 3 days for a scenario like this to happen. But I am sure our resource starved schools will be fine.

  38. They specifically have policies about things on field like no high fives that the players were consistently violating all weekend. Those annoy me far more, the PA agreed to that and said they players would police themselves so no penalties were needed.
