People have been giving Lynn s%*# on this board but he is 4-1 in his last seven starts a 2.06 ERA and most importantly, 53 strikeouts and only 4 walks. He's quietly found his 2021 form and not a lot of people have noticed. If the Sox can get to the playoffs, and that is a big IF, they will be lining up Cease, Cueto, and Lynn as their first three starters. That's pretty damn good.7 points

Lynn vs Gonzalez M’s are red hot having won 7 straight and are 9-1 in their last 10, but our Sox are on a roll with a new found sense of energy and fun. A new streak starts tonight. Lets do this!4 points

Looks like the Sox just rushed him back from injury too soon like they did with countless other players this year.4 points

If by playing hard for their ailing “skip” you do mean they have an extra skip in their step and feel extra energized after the old anti-fun joy-sucking walking corpse stepped away, then sure, we agree.4 points

This gives me a bulb. What if Jerry fired Hahn and Kdub. Hired Cashman. Cashman brings the Judge along with him to plug the RF hole. How would we like them apples, huh? Oh, baby!3 points

Letting Rodon walk for absolutely nothing is still the worst move of the off-season. It was such a minimal commitment to keep him around for another year+ and they completely fucked that up. Icing on the clusterfuck of an off-season.3 points

The issue I have with this is two fold: 1. The Sox should have had better medicals/info that anyone on Rodon. Clearly, the guy was healthy in 2021 and is showing he's more than healthy in 2022. 2. When you use the word "risk" in this case, I'd buy it more if Rodon got a contract for 3,4,5 years. He did not. At worst, he got a 2 year deal, but with his performance this season, it looks like he'll be hitting the FA market again this offseason. What's frustrating is given how this season has gone, if Rodon put up these numbers with the Sox, they're still a frustrating team but they're sitting in 1st place right now.3 points

I couldn't imagine a more fitting signal to the FO, fans, TLR, and Jerry than what Elvis did cranking that grand slam last night against a position player in a 9-0 game. Same Minnesota team, last season, who put a position player in to pitch, when Yermin went yard and was quickly and unceremoniously thrown under the bus by Tony LaRussa to the press. Since that moment, the Sox have hovered around .500 and looked unmotivated, bereft of 'fun', and lacking any sort of killer instinct. So, considering Tony is a Hall of Fame Person, Cairo surely threw Andrus under the bus last night, right?2 points

It's probably nitpicking, but Yoan is the best defensive infielder on the team. I'd have him in the game protecting a lead late.2 points

I'm just here to say....I'm all for this version of Lance Lynn.2 points

He didn’t get a good read on a ball to him that caused a run to score. An outfielder would have made that catch. And the coaching staff and the catchers that don’t catch don’t seem to care when a play isn’t made and runners move up 90 feet.2 points

This. This so much. The two of us and a few others like @Chicago White Soxwill repeat it all of season. It’s so important the Sox need to execute. Meanwhile AV costs us another run in the OF..2 points

There was no chance. At 7-0 with Cease throwing the way he was, there was literally no chance the Twins were winning that game. I have no problem with them throwing a position player there and playing for Sunday’s game.2 points

Or he just wants to ease him back into the lineup with minimal pressure. It’s not uncommon for guys to struggle after missing time. And considering lineup construction doesn’t mean much anyway, I don’t mind it.2 points

The team has been dead from the time of the Mercedes incident until Tony was exhumed from the dugout last week. 25-15 .625 through the Mercedes HR Game 132-122 .520 Post Mercedes until Tony's Last Game 4-2 .667 Miguel Cairo replaces Tony La Russa on an interim basis2 points

What a ridiculous lineup. If Robert is back, hit him where it matters. Andrus leading off isn't really a long term sensible move. And again, why bring Yoan back, to sit on the bench?2 points

Sound like a rerun of a few weeks ago when they beat up on Detroit, had a nice win vs. Houston then a tough loss when too many were focused on it not being a loss but a good loss. The next day it was 21-5, and the losing continued. I'll buy in if they get 2 out of 3 here. But right now they are .500 playing one of the easiest schedules possible. Not just with non contenders, but real easy travel.2 points

Funny seeing how excited / nervous he was post game. I just like the fact that we suddenly have a manager who’s pacing the top step and showing some emotion.2 points

A position player in a 7 run game in the 9th when you have used one reliever is bush league and I would say the same if the Sox did it, sorry. There have been plenty of games when the Sox burned their bullpen day after day and didn’t throw out a position player when they were losing. This move was bush league as hell from Baldelli and me and you will not agree on that2 points

The boys are playing hard for their ailing skip. Have enough decency to respect the GOAT (TLR).2 points

Everyone knows I am not a Rick Hahn apologist but like with Frank Thomas I can't blame the Sox in this case. The injury risk was to great. If someone is to blame first and foremost it's JR and his self-imposed payroll limitations which probably prevented Hahn from even thinking about extending the QO. Where Hahn deserves blame, in my opinion, is the fact that the best he could do to try to replace him was Vince Velasquez. A guy who in five years or so in the big leagues has never been anything but mediocre at best. There were other possibilities out there.2 points

I just want the Sox to conduct a real search for once but from what I've heard from as far back as last year from some folks who follow the club as a profession Cairo is in line for the job when TLR leaves. If he is truly the right guy, fine...but at least bring in outside candidates, talk with them, pick their brains and see what happens.2 points

So Hahn didn’t acquire pitching depth at the deadline because of Davis Martin….and it took one bad start by him for them to lose faith. I ask again, how can someone be this bad at their job?1 point
