Short arm saved his career. He was dog s%*# before that. 2019 was short arm4 points

Let’s be honest, anyone who would pretend to be a White Sox insider to gain a “following” on social media is a massive fucking loser. The sad part is how many people buy into his bullshit.4 points

Most of us aren't hating on Gio because of his performance, I think most of us are realistic enough to know he is gone after 2023 either way. So, why not make a move that makes sense for the team, more long term.4 points

Footlong has to be the second worse fake Twitter insider behind only Bartolo’s Colonscopy aka Orlando. Also, very strange that Adam Maloney stopped posting here all that much once Footlong’s podcast started ramping up ?4 points

The hate is unwarranted...frustration with him is not imo. He looked like an Ace. He was absolutely dominating in that playoff start against Oakland. Now he looks at best like a #4 or 5...that is frustrating.4 points

Soo as of now Cease Lynn Giolito Kopech Clevinger Hell of a 1-5, unfortunately tho I feel this move may be a precursor to an eventual trade of giolito4 points

Really good on this one. You subtract 2 bad outing against the Dodgers and pitching in coors field and the dude was sub 3.50 era coming off TJ. I think he is a really solid add.4 points

If they are trading from the 26 man roster to fill elsewhere Hendriks would probably be at the top of my list as well. I too am concerned about his arm and I feel like they can fill his role easier in house. I do wonder how his wonky contract impacts the potential return.4 points
-
The more I think about it, the more I think Hendriks gets moved. He just seems like a luxury we can’t afford at the moment and he should actually bring legit value back given what relief pitchers are going for right now. Additionally, moving him would free up some payroll and give us more flexibility to address other needs. Both the Yankees & Dodgers could use an elite closer and there is no one is his stratosphere available in free agency. And honestly, I also worry his arm is going to explode at some point next year. Basically it just makes so much sense to trade him right now even if it weakens the current state of the bullpen, assuming a quality return can be attained.4 points

Orlando (Bartolo’s Colonoscopy) already banned me on Twitter and I had never even tweeted at him. These fake insiders have real thin skin apparently…lol.3 points

Have you forgotten who the Sox owner is? Everything has to come through that lens. So basically, the Sox are the Rays but with a higher year to year payroll and a much worse front office and organizational structure. Until there's a new owner we should want them to operate that way, yes.3 points

I really like this signing relative to other bargain bin options.3 points

If the rumor is legit, I’d expect it to be informally announced by Monday or Tuesday. I agree with @Tnetennba that the holiday weekend may be slowing things down a bit.3 points

I can't believe you are willing to trade our worst '23 contract for a player with positive value. The Twins are also shocked.3 points

Yeah. The clubhouse cancer stuff is a big yawn for me. So he didn’t quarantine properly on a road trip? Who cares. Clevinger is a really solid pitcher. Thrilled to have him for $8M.2 points

Yeah and apparently we (or at least myself ) are the ones with nothing better to do with our lives ?2 points

Oh you done it now. Orlando is gonna find your Twitter account and flame you for your lack of followers.2 points

Yeah I’ve seemed to have struck a nerve with him on twitter for calling him out on his bs that’s led to him trying to attack me for my lack of twitter followers ?2 points

Crochet is no way gonna be ready for the start of the season. He just had his TJ surgery in April 2022. Don't think he'll be back til All Star break at the earliest.2 points

I’m actually really optimistic about our rotation with Clevinger as the #5. Still need another depth arm for Charlotte and/or swingman, but I think we’ve got as high of a ceiling rotation as anyone in baseball. Will be disappointed if they move Lucas and replace him with another C tier free agent.2 points

Reynaldo's value should be really high right now. Not giving him up for someone like Kepler. Joe Kelly is who I'd give up for Kepler.2 points

Aside from everything else, pretty sure he's suspended for a while.2 points

In all seriousness, in terms of dumpster diving, this is a decent gamble.1 point

FWIW, Herb Lawrence said that he talked to some people in San Diego and they claimed he was a perfectly fine guy in their clubhouse. I agree what he did with the Indians was horrible (especially with Francona as manager), but I believe in giving people second chances if they show remorse, outside of certain truly evil things. That being said, I’m assuming (or at least hope) the Sox have done their homework on his character before signing him.1 point

If $8 million is all he got then his market must have been very small.1 point

I see this as another fail. They like veterans that make the IL.1 point

Just find it hilarious why the Twins would want to do anything of significance that might help the Sox heading into an off-season where they just finished 3 games behind them. Maybe a deal with them at the deadline might be realistic but nothing is going to happen with them unless the Sox are overpaying drastically1 point
-
I don’t think trading Giolito is the appropriate shake-up though. And one year of a 3+ win pitcher and a draft pick is better than what we’ll get in return for him via trade plus whatever we do with the $10M in savings.1 point

I really need the deal terms to leak so I can stop hitting refresh over and over.1 point

The White Sox seem serious about contending for the 2023 Playoffs. The White Sox are coming!!!! Tra La, Tra La!!!!1 point

I just mean if your off-season is limited to reclamation projects and cheap veterans, at least go for high variance guys with actual upside.1 point

I know Schilling is a douche, but he should get in. He was a great pitcher. Lots of athletes are jerks.1 point
