I didn't listen to the entire Garfien or Barstool Carl interviews, but did listen to chunks of both. I don't really see the problem with anything TA said. So he wants fans pulling from the same rope rather than being ultra negative and that's a problem? He wants to get paid in his next contract and that's a problem? Some of you guys just look for things to b**** about.5 points
-
The comments about Benintendi are a bit surprising. Pretty much saying Benintendi is just a good player, but Tim is way better and he should get paid. What the hell does he expect? He signed a contract before he was a sure thing. Of course he is underpaid. That's on him.5 points
-
I actually disagree here. He agreed to the contract. That's on him. It was the same thing with Scotty Pippen. He signed the deal. The next year, payrolls skyrocketed. Sorry dude. You agreed to the terms, you abide by them. If he should be pissed at anybody it should be his agent.5 points
-
I appreciate you wanting to throw racism into the picture when it comes to criticism of him and his play but you my friend are the one bringing up the color of his skin not me. His performance and attitude over the past year have been dogshit at best and that’s all I’ve said.4 points

He may be jealous of those shortstops’ deals, but he better dramatically increase his production if he wants to be comparable. Correa at 39.5 career WAR through age 27 compared to 18.2 through age 29 for TA, for example4 points
-
Not sure what you think I believe.... but I'm firmly in the camp that he shouldn't be making these comments. In a season where he may or may not have missed games for personal reasons. With 2 years plus and a QO standing between him and free agency... he is completely out of line going public. Now, I think I'd be jealous seeing the money shortstops got this offseason. And I think it would be tempting for him to wonder if he'd get a 9 figure extension offer if he were with a different organization, but he has to be smarter than verbalizing those feelings. Especially when the club thought enough of him to give him "set for life" money early in his career, when many other clubs wouldn't have done that. I think his shot against his new teammate, calling him great, then clearly correcting to "good" and essentially questioning "why him and not me" is bad. And the fact that this still hasn't taken off on the forums or sox twitter shows me that fans love him, want to ignore his short comings and only care about bashing ownership and the front office.4 points

My "State of the Sox" story released on November 1 with information from six sources: https://www.wsiforumstoo.com/74118-the-state-of-the-sox3 points

Of course he takes a shot at the history of things. The org is a flat out embarrassment. Never signing 100 million dollar player as one of 4 organizations in baseball.3 points

It was just a matter of time before a segment of the fanbase turned on TA. I'm surprised it took this long. I just hope he comes out balling this season and shuts everyone up.3 points
-
I don't know how people don't hear it, but the dude is a wreck. He is completely torn down and at rock bottom. We already saw Abreu change his tune and leave, and now this from TA. Something is just poisonous. Hopefully it was just Tony, but Jesus this franchise just ruined fun for two of the happiest players in baseball.3 points

Did he really just try to use treatment of one’s wife as an example of how to act?3 points
-
This right here. With as many holes as they have, they should be begging people to take these deals.3 points

More like it colors the person you are disagreeing with in a negative light, which seems to be your preferred tactic2 points

No, you were the one who read something that wasn’t said. You associated the criticism of a player’s attitude with his race.2 points
-
Tim wouldn't be saying it if the last two years weren't a complete disaster. Take what we went though as fans and imagine it as a player.2 points
-
What you are running into is a poorly executed offseason did not hit the reset button on this franchise and didn’t take the distaste of last season out of the fans mouths. So when TA basically throws shade on everyones reaction to last year this is 1000 percent warranted. Ownership and GM have brought this upon themselves and fans have every right to be skeptical if you’ve watched idk any White Sox baseball over the last decade or so. Most fans don’t want to hear it2 points

If you bring in a shitty boss and crater a happy workplace, it doesn't automatically factory restore with a FNG, even if they are good. Trust and relationships could be gone forever. And who knows what else happened behind the scenes.2 points
-
It shouldn’t surprise me that they are laying the blame at anyone but themselves. But seriously, everyone involved needs to look in the damned mirror.2 points
-
This new Score host standard of implying you know things but not saying them is such bullshit. Im not surprised by the TA comments. Mentioned it before but the front office being such cowards in their availability with fans have hung the players out to dry to receive the bulk of the anger.2 points

Holmes and Rahimi were implying/flat out saying things are awful behind the scenes with the Sox2 points

This is typical discourse from you. Your very first post in here was trolling the group with all of the "woke" BS. Excuse me if I can't take you seriously right now.2 points

TA just is clueless. Seriously you should just STFU and play. How confusing is that? and yeah it is sad that he's become so unlikable now....2 points

Sad how he’s turned into one of the most unlikeable players in baseball.2 points

This. Charlotte could still use a couple more SP arms, honestly. Very little in the way of upper minors depth after Martin, Stiever, Alexy and Burke. Although Katz did give both Nate Fisher and Jesse Scholtens a shoutout in his interview the other day.2 points

The Cubs run was a brief blip in their lengthy history of being bad, and winning it all removed their one noteworthy bit of notoriety. Who fucking cares? Why anyone would give a s%*# about what Bryan Shaw or any other FA signing did against them 7 years ago is silly. It’s irrelevant to the here and now. This is also just a NRI depth signing, and if he sucks, he is cut. The Sox *should* be loading up on these to stack up as much depth as possible, not avoiding it.2 points

The bench would completely lose a defensive player if he was on it.2 points

I'm among those who think this is a positive move for the Sox. The Sox were unwatchable last year for the most part, except for a few players, who came to play everyday and gave it their all. For position players, that list was very short. Jose Abreu and Elvis Andrus. Everyone else got hurt, just stunk it up, or had terrible splits. And most also sucked at fielding and baserunning. Andrus might regress, but I believe him when he says he found something in his swing. He was a breath of fresh air on a team filled with prima donnas who were all hype and no substance. He was a little like Johnny Cueto was for the starting staff. He can't turn the team around himself, but maybe he'll embarrass Tim Anderson and Yoan Moncada into playing better.2 points

There is a whole lot of truth here. Do I want the games on? Sure. But I can't waste energy on this one either.1 point

This isn't that close. It'll be Cease, Lynn, Kopech, Giolito, Clevinger Graveman, Kelly, Bummer, Lopez, Diekman, Lambert, Ruiz Final spot will go to one of Avila, German or Santos with Avila having the initial upper hand as a rule 5 pick. Or now perhaps Bryan Shaw, but my guess is they'd rather wait on him as its an milb deal and obviously won't have options.1 point
-
I was thinking the only spots you'd use him as a pinch hitter are 2B and backup C late in the game if you're looking for a bomb late. That is about it.1 point
-
I'd rather have Sheets in RF on occasion Sheets and Colas seem like givens. Can't have an entire bench that can't hit. At least Sheets can play OF. The rest is kind of murky. I'd put Sosa in the mix for backup infielder if he has a good spring; he should get a good amount of playing time.1 point
-
Colas has 1 season in the minor leagues, is a borderline top 100 prospect and there are plenty of things in his 1 minor league season that are cause or concern / reason to not hand him an everyday big league job in a month. He has absolutely zero grounds for a grievance whatsoever if the Sox send him to AAA to start the season.1 point

I'm surprised no one has called out the bit around the 21:00 minute mark. If Tim doesn't get an extension by this time next year, I worry that he will be insufferable. 2 full years remaining on what essentially was only a 1 year extension and he is already taking shots. Anyone else on the roster talks about Benintendi's deal like that... I don't think it goes well. Tim clearly says he's been "knocking on that door" (asking for a new deal). "But it is a shame it be like that" (that the Sox don't do long term deals). Then immediately says they just signed "who - for what". You can clearly see where his mind went: he was asking for an extension and they spent the money on this dude. Completely disrespectful to a teammate. Nothing Tim said was incorrect, and we all know, everyone probably would think this way if in his shoes, but it is just bad for a teammate to say these things out loud. And someone in the room might have agreed because he does say "I'll shut up", almost like someone told him to. TA also ironically points out he needs more than that (5/75) because he is in the SS market. I found this amusing. He better hope he is still in that market, because I think the guy is a LF which would put him in that identical market. With Benintendi as the closest comp. Can't wait.1 point

Well everyone is healthy, Eloy and Gio both realized they were carrying too much weight. All the podcasts seem to like the Andrus signing. People are looking forward to seeing Colas play. Grifol is imparting a one step at a time mentality while stressing fundamentals and hard work from the get go. Guys are going off to play in the WBC which should be exciting. I'm pretty stoked which is what spring is for. It may all crash and burn but for now I'm good. I've lived through plenty of disappointing seasons but it hasn't stopped me from being enthusiastic when, for a brief moment, things are looking up. I just try real hard to keep my mind off the incompetency of the FO and owner and focus on the players. It's fun to imagine guys like Eloy and Robert actually having real good years at the same time which has never happened. The top 4 in the rotation seems real solid. We should actually be better against LHP if Benintendi and Colas do well and Moncada and Grandal can't be any worse than they were last year. Defense should be better too ,without 1st basemen or Eloy in the OF as much.1 point
-
I don’t think sheets is in the running for starting RF. Was at first two spring training practices, Sheets is not even working out with outfielders, strictly with the 1B group. Makes it seem that we’ll either see Colas or Eloy (with Sheets or Burger as DH if it’s Eloy)1 point
-
This is nothing more than Grifol trying to light a fire under Leury's ass. It makes zero sense to DFA Leury out of Spring Training when the jury is very much still out on whether Romy or any other option is capable of filling his role.1 point
-
He's supposed to have a very quick bat. I mean if it was that long you'd think someone could have exploited it especially lefties but his minor league numbers as far as batting average, slugging and OPS were actually better against LHP. A lot less AB's of course which is always the case but it was over 100 and over 400 vs. RHP. Really seems to have a good idea how to hit against both handed pitchers. He just has to be more selective .1 point
-
Looking at these roster options, I’m still very annoyed we didn’t go out and sign a quality 4th OF who hits from the right side. That lack of depth is going to bite us at some point next year.1 point
-
So who do you suggest be on the big league roster instead? Sosa riding pine? Romy is going to be on the roster regardless.1 point
-
I figured that Perez has a chance to make the team if Grandal can't catch. Will he be in Spring Training?1 point

just because he's useless at multiple positions doesn't make him useful.1 point

Then I guess I don’t understand your confusion if you remember all of that.1 point
