North is fucking garbage and the world is a better place with him not on the air7 points
-
No, you were the one who read something that wasn’t said. You associated the criticism of a player’s attitude with his race.4 points
-
I appreciate you wanting to throw racism into the picture when it comes to criticism of him and his play but you my friend are the one bringing up the color of his skin not me. His performance and attitude over the past year have been dogshit at best and that’s all I’ve said.4 points
-
Where did I ever mention the color of the man’s skin at in any post ever on this board? I never once have looked at him that way or targeted him because of his skin color. But when you have a s%*# ass attitude towards criticism that’s where I point out where I think he is wrong. Another player who has a s%*# attitude and deserves every ounce of criticism is Moncada. Too many times he acts like He doesn’t want to be on the field. Attitude goes a long way especially for players that haven’t won a thing4 points
-
Tim’s comments do not really warrant this type of outrage. Let’s see how he performs this year. The Score hosts do not know s%*# about anything “behind the scenes.” Let’s see how they perform this year.4 points

Comparing TA to Lebron here is laughable. People tell Lebron to shut up for making social and political commentary. Here some one is saying TA should shut up about whinging about his contract and other ego derived general stupidity3 points

As it pertains to Tim - being a professional athlete is hard. Tim clearly has a difficult time blocking out the haters. I think I would too, so I feel for him. Baseball is a game of failure and he’s generally been a successful player, but it’d be easy to let things get under your skin in todays social media age. Just ignoring thousands of people talking s%*# about you publicly cannot be easy. At the end of the day, you put a mic in front of a guys face long enough with a largely disgruntled fan base looking for anything to jump on, he’s going to say something that could be misconstrued. I think that’s all that is happening here. Here’s to hoping Tim and his teammates shut up the naysayers on the field this season. As others have said, the organization has put its players at the front line of its defense, and that simply isn’t right. But there’s nothing but winning that will cure it.3 points

More like it colors the person you are disagreeing with in a negative light, which seems to be your preferred tactic3 points
-
Quick with the tough guy response…So what was the purpose of that particular part of your message, why mention that in any post related to what I said other than to stir the pot /create this story that really was never mentioned in the first place.3 points
-
I get Tim is a fan favorite and some would never dare criticize him but how does any of what you just stated become the fans or medias fault? How dare anyone criticize him or the team? That’s literally the part of the medias job, report the good and bad, not paint a picture with rose colored glasses acting like everything is perfect. As for fans they have the right to boo especially those who pay to go to the game. From the players perspective yes it is even more frustrating it’s their job but they also know the criticism comes with the job just like the praise does3 points
-
What you are running into is a poorly executed offseason did not hit the reset button on this franchise and didn’t take the distaste of last season out of the fans mouths. So when TA basically throws shade on everyones reaction to last year this is 1000 percent warranted. Ownership and GM have brought this upon themselves and fans have every right to be skeptical if you’ve watched idk any White Sox baseball over the last decade or so. Most fans don’t want to hear it3 points

I really like Burger as a AAAA player. Help with the inevitable Moncada and Eloy injuries.2 points
-
Keep Burger and play him at 3B ... let Moncada try and figure out how to hit again as the designated utility infielder ... dump Leury.2 points
-
Let's be real, if Tim wasn't coming off a down year where his inability to stay healthy and perform was a big factor in the overall team's lack of success -- this would be a non story. To me, it still is a non story, let him talk. But as a Sox fan (not just a TA fan) imma need a good year. I was shocked that he only had a .96 ISO last year. Those are Nick Madrigal numbers. Elevate and pull the ball. Stop looking oppo on every fastball down the middle. Maybe with two strikes.2 points
-
Telling any player to shut up and play is so dumb. They have media in their face asking questions. Sure, TA could decline some interviews like the 2 he is getting torched for currently, but it is a part of their job. Its one thing if a guy is going on and on about politics and non sports related stuff, but dude is talking about getting paid and fan discontent. So what.2 points

SS2K5 is always the smartest guy in the room. He is right and you are wrong regardless of the topic. That is what he believes at least.2 points

He's a saint you aren't simple as that. Should be used to it by now from him. You read into things . He never does. He'll try to cancel you out by innuendo and guilt by association .2 points

Some posters here appear to dislike Sox players, Sox management, Sox owners, and Sox fans. Not sure why they bother posting. Going after players that you don't even know on a personal basis is ridiculous. I like the line-up this year as it stands now. I think Eloy, Robert, TA and Vaughn are going to have monster years. Just enjoy the game and don't waste energy on getting personal with players, managers, the ownership, etc. Too much useless energy was expended on that last year. At the end of the day, you are just another fan. Never forget that.2 points
-
You quoted my message talking about many wanting to target him because he’s a loud, black man. Nowhere in any post did I once say that about him nor is there any post in my years of posting here ever once bring up skin color or anything remotely close to that. So surely you can see where I might take it as you throwing me in with that group of people you speak about.2 points

I mentioned Tim's skin because it 100% colors a lot of opinions towards him.2 points

Difference between the owner doing it privately and the team captain doing it in a public setting like he did with a guy who carries more water for this franchise than anyone else not named Scott Merkin2 points
-
I don't think anyone has a problem with him taking that shot at Jerry. I included it because it helps demonstrate that he was indeed complaining he didn't get a new deal. And for the record, I think it is fine if he feels this way... privately. Everyone wants to get paid. Every player who feels they have exceeded their current deal would love a new deal every single offseason. I bet if you privately polled MLB players, 90% would think they deserve a new deal this season. How many have we heard from? How many took a shot at their teammate getting money when they didn't?2 points
-
I listened to it again. He brings up the "business side of things" completely unprompted. Says he's been "knocking at that door". Takes a shot at the "history of things". Then "come on man, the white sox just signed, who for what, and that was what.... dude is great, good player, Great player, happy for him". He is 1000% expressing frustration with the Sox signing Benintendi instead of paying him. I can't ever remember a current player complaining about a teammate's signing. Dude is a clown and will somehow get a pass.2 points

god damn, I hope they trade him for a haul this year2 points

We start things off with the just missed list. Guys who discussed but ultimately missed the list. Check it out here: https://soxmachine.com/2023/02/just-missed-chicago-white-sox-prospects-just-outside-the-pre-season-2023-top-30/1 point

Dumping Leury is the only remotely sensible thing about this post. Yikes.1 point
-
At this point, it is hard to see how he is not starting the 5th game of the season. And that's fine by me.1 point
-
Sometimes I like the guy, sometimes I don't. He's a fine player, but he's also not a star I build a team around. I treat him like Willy Adames with the Brewers. I'm all for putting our best offer forward sometime this season and if he declines, then let's trade him. I take this approach with Giolito too. Offer him your best and then trade him when he says no. I'd be much more willing to stretch for Gio than Anderson.1 point

2022 White Sox record with (starting AL All-Star shortstop) Tim Anderson in the lineup: 42-37 2022 White Sox record without TA in the lineup: 39-44 He's a truly exciting player when healthy. And last year was an anomaly for him: he averaged over 500 at bats each year from 2017 to 2021 (with the exception of the shortened Covid year). That "he can't stay healthy" trope is beyond lazy.1 point

I haven’t watched the clip or read the interview, but I genuinely don’t care about what Tim said. Athlete’s are people too, and none of us are in their shoes. I also don’t care at all about the baby mama drama. None of my concern. I only care that he shows up, stays healthy and performs on the field. This whole org is a dysfunctional mess with very little public accountability, and they seem to grow more insular with every foible and misstep. It is unfair that the players seem to be taking the brunt of the criticism when the ills go much deeper. None of the players have been put in the best position to win the past two years and frustration all around is justified. The rot however starts at the very top and we know that isn’t changing any time soon. Winning would paper over a lot of this mess, but my hopes are not high.1 point

Hmmmm....stay up late to watch a potential 8th or 9th inning West Coast meltdown and get to listen to Gordo? I'll probably be there on the couch but I don't have to like it.1 point

Tired of the who are you to criticize this team attitude / mentality from the organization, players, GM, old coaching staff etc throughout the years. Tim telling Chuck that there might be certain players who close themselves off to him because of his criticism…. that is coming from your so called leader of the clubhouse or the straw that stirs the drink as they say…..that has soft written all over it. What Lawrence Holmes said on 670 wasn’t wrong.1 point
-
Been ready for a change and was hoping they’d deal him this off-season when the last SS signed. He’s a good player with a crap attitude and it was clear as day last year. Feel bad for Chuck because he’s just trying to do his job and has never called out TA personally if I can remember correctly. For as much water carrying as Chuck gets called out for I don’t get it1 point

This is typical discourse from you. Your very first post in here was trolling the group with all of the "woke" BS. Excuse me if I can't take you seriously right now.1 point

I didn’t think he was “being an ass” either. Personally the wife advice comment dropped my lower jaw, but other than that. However, he seems to want a a fanbase completely overtaken by pollyannaism or something. And he hasn’t earned that kind of credit by his own actions. If it was Jim Thome that took us to the woodshed, at least I might be affected by the gaslighting a little.1 point
-
I didn't listen to the entire Garfien or Barstool Carl interviews, but did listen to chunks of both. I don't really see the problem with anything TA said. So he wants fans pulling from the same rope rather than being ultra negative and that's a problem? He wants to get paid in his next contract and that's a problem? Some of you guys just look for things to b**** about.1 point
-
That's pushing it. Maybe if he had become the next Jeter for the Sox he could or would have reached that status. No more "that's a real professional at-bat there" comments repeated ad nauseam please.1 point

Some embarrassing comments in his interview with Chuck, but that’s no surprise. I’m ready for the Montgomery era after 2023.1 point

He may be jealous of those shortstops’ deals, but he better dramatically increase his production if he wants to be comparable. Correa at 39.5 career WAR through age 27 compared to 18.2 through age 29 for TA, for example1 point
