Great column.....except for the fact not a single team in baseball wanted him in the spring of 2021....except the White Sox. The Sox gave him a break by not giving him the QO and he's bitter?????? I liked him and always defended him but he sounds like an asshole in that story.2 points

I like how the MLB app and Game Day have Colombia as Colorado Rockies2 points

Yes, the low risk approach by the Sox has proven quite successful indeed.2 points

Totally agree, he wasn’t really saying anything negative, just that he used everything he could for motivation. Not a big deal.1 point

We don't see eye to eye on how Rodon sounds. Everything he said perhaps he deserved it and it motivated him and that he kind of manufactured the slights into making them real for extra motivation.1 point

I picked them third last year and hated it. When I look at it with an unbiased eye, I'm thinking second. But I've convinced myself they will win the division this year. I'm going all in, I've even located my Sox hitch cover to proudly display before opening day. I'll wear a Sox jersey to work on opening day (cool tradition at school) and endure the taunts from Astro fans.1 point

This guy out here dropping colombia locals. Colombia has some solid players. No quintana this time, bum. Rooting for colombia after the US. Medellin is an amazing place! Big time recommend. Guatape is great too.1 point

He does kind of have a history of that. Before he became Soxtalk's Favorite Pitcher he was Carlos the disappointing, lazy fatso who hunted all offseason.1 point

Last year ended the I told you so. He should have gotten the QO and pitched for the Sox last year and left via free agency. I hope he does well but was not worth the risk to the White Sox for the deal he got.1 point

If Burger or Sheets had any trade value they probably would have been traded long ago. But every team has guys like them.1 point

I guess the good thing is that Cuba will only play 4 games so the odds of them getting injured is lower.1 point

I’m just being a sarcastic dick. I’ve never been a fan of the “trade [insert player] because he deserves an opportunity”.1 point

The quality of baseball on cable tv is significant. Streaming baseball not so much. Or choosing among 35 different streaming services.1 point

spring training stats for a vet pitcher are worthless. I don't care if he didn't record an out as long as he got his work in and came out feeling healthy. most times a guy like cease is just working on anything but getting a guy out. which obviously is a 180 from a real game.1 point

Yes. From the definition on the old Google machine. con·spir·a·cy /kənˈspirəsē/ noun a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful. Something harmful doesn't have to be unlawful.1 point

No s%*#. Buxton has cleared 92 games 1 time in 8 seasons (7 non-covid seasons). Robert has played 56 games (60 game season), 68, and 98 games. His injury history isn't even close to Buxton's at this point. So Jack's statement was silly (shocking!).1 point

First 15 Outfield upper deck rows were amazing. Really any seat in front of the poles were good. Wrigley's lower deck, I only bring this up as it is comparable, is too sprawling. IF you sit toward the back in the lower deck, it really sucks. Maybe Comiskey was the same and I was much younger and less angry but sitting in the back rows in the lower deck weren't too bad even down the lines.1 point

As a kid in Chicago Public Schools in the 1970's those Straight A / Perfect Attendance forms were my entree into Comiskey Park. As long as you didnt piss off the teacher too much you got a form. You got to pick two games for free just send in the form and a SASE to the Ticket Office. My sister had no interest in baseball so I was good for four games each summer. I would always pick a Thursday night Twinight Double header which would start at 5:30. I would take the Archer bus with two ham sandwiches in a brown paper bag and meet my dad at the ballpark. Simpler times, great memories, esp 1977.1 point
