Meidroth remains the favorite to be our Opening Day SS. I went to DraftKings earlier this week and he is not a betting option for AL ROY. As soon as he is, make sure to place your bets because he’s going to run away with it.4 points

It’s a dying industry and given his tenure he probably makes a lot more than a potential replacement.4 points

It’s funny, I am very supportive of service time manipulation to get the extra year of control when possible, but if any prospect has a chance at getting us draft pick compensation from an Opening Day assignment I think it’s Teel. I’d still start him in Charlotte because there is little harm in giving him a few more months of minor league seasoning, but I feel like he’d be a real threat in the AL for ROY if a mostly full season.3 points

I think what it is with him and Nastrini is: you trade with the Dodgers, they have the top data on when a pitcher is about to backslide. and they will give you that player lol3 points

I really don't mind going when they're bad because I can get in and out of the park easily.3 points

The great Bailey Horn is getting passsed around like Bonnie Blue at a frat party.2 points

Vaughn, Rojas, Vargas, Sosa, not exactly a "murderer's row", more like a "cause deaths by irritating and embarrassing means" row.2 points

Great Leasure getting a start but gets the added burden of extra innings rule. Gave up 2 double and HR . Sox coming to bat finally. Lol guess u were joking about that extra innings rule since he gave up doubles and the Sox aren't starting with anyone on 2nd base. I'm late to the broadcast. Game is on the MLB app on your smart TV. Scroll down to the Sox highlights section.you won't get any thing if u click on the game because there's officially no broadcast available.2 points

I click into Gameday, and see they're playing extra inning rules, and Jordan Leasure has spotted the Brewers the man on 2nd base.2 points

I have my season tickets so I will be there for many of them. Cuban sandwiches and empierogies will be the main attractions besides summer baseball at the park.2 points

vibes, Bob. vibes exclusively. also the fact that he was rule 5 eligible. it's obviously not based on AAA performance, but who gives a s%*#. A lot of people, seemingly, but they're the same guys who thought Garrett was bad at baseball, so...2 points

I agree he's still not a great hitter. My point was he's better than Nicky. However, I will admit that the last few years of White Sox fandom has made me willing to accept less than I deserve. White Sox are saying, "Here's a somewhat better version of Nicky Lopez for second base," and I'm saying, "Thanks."2 points

They can also just wait until the trade deadline and pick up a rental or whatever for a playoff run then. It’s not like they need to pay for April-July.2 points

Just one year I'd like someone considered a borderline prospect to impress.1 point

I agree - unless Mason Graham or a high upside player is there trade back - problem is it takes two to tango. Not a position of need, but back to got to hit doubles and triples in round 1 - is there a db worth taking early? If this was a year ago - I’d have taken Jared Verse (or Brock Bowers) but this draft isn’t as deep.1 point

The great Chris Getz originally started the Bailey Horn gangbang by trading a 2nd round draft pick for him last year.1 point

Never said it was good baseball. But I go to college and HS as well so I'm used to the level of play. I'm working games this weekend actually.1 point

Absolutely agree. Like I said I’m not behind Jeanty as the pick, I’m just discussing it because it’s starting to feel like a certainty1 point

Where the Giants are at right now I really don't think it was a terrible decision to let him walk(now everything else that organization did including investing into Danny Dimes is a huge issue). He wins them what, another game maybe? Saquan is obviusly an unbelievable player but the Giants couldn't win with him(not his fault) and that's kind of the point, a fantastic RB is kind of a luxury player moreso than it is someone you need to build around.1 point

I have a 13 year old on my little league team this season that's throwing 71-73. I believe our field is 50-70 so its tough on a lot of these kids to even have a chance if he's throwing around the plate. Sadly, my skeleton-esque bodied 13 year old is only throwing like 55.1 point

It's not an organizational philosophy, it's a sport philosophy. And one organization can't really change it, when the development process across the sport is being impacted the way it has. This "process" of max velocity is starting with 12-13 year olds. You can only draft and develop the players available to draft, and there isn't a generation of soft tossing lefties shooting up draft boards.1 point

The team that invested that draft capital and the GM have been completely ripped for that decision to let him walk, Schoens own son on camera asked why they did it. It was a terrible decision now in hindsight and it was a terrible decision at the time to let him walk1 point

Not for the team that invested the draft capital in him. RB seems to be a crapshoot and their success is predicated on the scheme and line as much as pure talent.1 point

Could be. Also could be his back issues causing him to struggle with hitting and defending. Either reason is bad because it doesn’t seem like his back issues are going away.1 point

Meidroth not really a ss and is 2-16 in the Spring. Of course, Baldwin hasn’t been tearing it up either. The guy who has opened eyes is Bergolla, but he is going to AA. The guys who have looked good as infielders offensively are Rojas, Sosa, Drury, Vargas, and Vaughn. Not really any shortstops there. Maybe Rojas?1 point

seems like they will give it to meidroth. theyre playing baldwin in a few different positions trying to find ways he can contribute1 point

I have mixed feelings about the idea of the Sox moving to the 78 - even if it's with the Ishbias' private money. The idea of a new park a short walk from the Loop and along an expanded riverwalk sounds exciting, but I have built a lot of memories at the current park over nearly 30 years (I haven't been to a game since 2018). I brought my kids there lots of times when they were growing up. I was at the AJ dropped 3rd strike game and other memorable games. Good times. And they did a good job improving the park in the early 2000s. But Rate Field is what it is - a nice, underrated, but unremarkable stadium in a part of town without much else to do. It's a short L ride from downtown, but most people don't bother unless they're really into White Sox baseball. Maybe that could change if they can develop the parking lots around the ballpark. I have my doubts about that, but we'll see what a new owner (whether or not it's the Ishbia brothers) decides for the future of this team. I doubt any new owner in their right minds will want to move the team to some suburban location. That would work for the Bears, but not for a MLB team with 81 home games a year. It's going to be the current stadium, a new stadium at the 78, or maybe even a new stadium at the site of Old Comiskey (a very longshot possibility). That's probably about it as viable options IMO.1 point
