Get him squared away, and then send him to Birmingham. They have 2+ years before they really have decisions to make. Drop him back a notch, and let him get comfortable with the changes.8 points

One thing I find interesting is how even as I held Vaughn in low esteem as a below average first baseman, it is remarkable just how the longer a player is in the white Sox the worse they get. Vaughn was a scouting calamity, but no matter if we take in a high ceiling player like Robert or low floor marshmallow like Vaughn, the closer they get to their prime the more likely they will be the worst player they have ever been.5 points

John “Mac” McDonald, aged 77, of Glen Ellyn, passed away on Wednesday evening, April 23, at his home. He couldn’t face another White Sox season after last year’s record breaking meltdown.4 points

Fine. Let him get exposed. He deserves a shot. Let him have a good week up here until the league adjusts and he's sent back down. Let that process play out.4 points

White Sox Pitching Stats - Week of 2025-04-21 to 2025-04-27 Note: Due to the MLB Stats API making it somewhat difficult to get SF and HBP data its currently missing from the the calculated numbers below. I thought I came up with a good way to identify starers from relivers but of course the Sox decided to start using openers this past week. We're really celebrating a team breaking a player to such an extent that he has to be removed from games to be fixed?3 points

I think Sosa's actually been fine at 2nd base. He's made a lot of diving plays, gets up quick, makes a strong throw, turns the DP well. I just think it's funny when Harold yells if he does make an error like don't ever play him at 2nd ever again. People need to let go of their biases.Btw Kelenic passed through waivers again and back in the Braves system.😋3 points

At this rate C Montgomery Burns will buy the team before CMonty gets above triple A.3 points

I would sooner get a Vaughn Charlotte jersey to help will it into existence.3 points
-
I really believe it comes down to Getz not being able to say he wasted 5.5 million or whatever on Vaughn. He should just throw Hahn under the bus and say it was a terrible pick and blah blah DFA him.3 points
-
As intellectually stimulating as this conversation is, we need to get back on point here. Because there is still no news of an Elko callup.3 points

The Sox locked into a bad location in one of the worst rated stadiums in baseball would be a win for the Sox. I won't even touch on your pretending to have inside information to a set of negotiations which you aren't privy to.3 points

Dude, the Related development proposals were absurd and are now dead. Move on.3 points

My dude this is one of your biggest stretches of the year. Hawk is yelling “get back there! STRETCH!” And the outfielder is moving -in-. Not your finest argument3 points

Probably less of a kick in the nuts than looking helpless against AAA pitching. Colson has no one to blame but himself.2 points
-
Whoever that person is that tweeted it could not have cut it off at a worse time. Why is he not up?2 points

Thought he was having a little more success lately, but obviously not where you want him to be. First time I've ever seen the Sox do this in terms of development, so that's encouraging (but not for Colson).2 points

I don't think they've done anything like this for any other prospects in the Sox org before, have they? We've had other prospects struggle / hit ceilings (or not hit anything at all), and the most we've done is drop 'em down a level. I don't like that he's struggling, but this again shows the current regime is willing to try stuff that goes against the grain of what this organization has done previously.2 points
-
This is what I was hoping for. He needs to get back to who he was before becoming so focused on hitting for power. He is at his best with an all-fields approach. They’re gonna have to change his swing to get there.2 points
-
I feel like people don’t believe me when I say this, but it really seems like the Sox organization thinks Vaughn is a “big name” for the fans. I expect his leash to be way longer than we hope.2 points

Sox storm out of the clubhouse, this one is for Mac!!!, beat the Brewers, play .700 ball the rest of the way, take the AL Central, the Pennant, the WS.2 points
-
It doesn't have to make sense. Sox are rebuilding and need bats. Worrying about match ups is pointless at this point2 points
-
At least those guys you mention have had some kind of track record of success in their careers.2 points
-
And I would think that if the Sox had any online awareness, they'd understand the jolt Elko would put into a vocal part of the fanbase. They should have announced Elko yesterday, and gave everybody a day to buy tickets to the next 3 games.2 points

Seriously. Back on topic, this dude needs time off at the very least. Give him a reason to be on the IL, or a few days off. Let him clear his head. Try something different.2 points

Like I have been saying for months, the most likely scenario is clear. Jerry does the s%*# kicking, Ishbia keeps clean, win/win. Dude has his succession plan in place2 points

What are we down to, 30 fans now? RIP John, it's too bad this is the last Sox team you'll see, should've tried to hold on for like 8 more years, we might have a winner by then.2 points

I like the final version much more than the prototype we saw a few weeks ago. And if they're keeping the black Southside Js, this is all good for me.2 points
-
On the other hand: Everyone that spent the past five years hating on the Southside jerseys is now getting a "careful what you wish for" moment.2 points
-
Not a fan of the jersey at all, hopefully it's a shortlived city connect. Big fan of that South Side hat though.2 points
-
The design itself isn't bad, like you said the flying sock logo is actually pretty nice. It's just an incredibly lazy ass design. The point of these is to connect it the team to the city of Chicago, and this fails miserably at that. There is nothing connecting the Sox and Bulls outside of piss-poor ownership.2 points

Like my response to the leaks: Love / hate. Hat is a home run. I actually wasn't a fan of the Chi hat, so this is a step up. Sleeveless look is great. You can even argue that it connects to the city, with the dynasty being such a fundamental piece of the city's sporting history. But because it's JR, this feels like a cheap cop out. Also, Miguel Vargas is throwing sass.2 points

So dumb, established a concept of city connect then in the second year you just poach another team/sports look? People have been doing these cross sport concepts for years, this just feels really lazy.2 points
