Cool, have fun with that. No one is claiming he’s figured it out, just willing to entertain the idea that he’s made some strides. Somehow this concept is difficult to grasp. Also, those posters will still be here if Vargas has a sub .600 OPS in a few months because not everyone is as obsessed with appearing smart in front of strangers on the internet.6 points

We already have a game thread. And there's a "That's a Sox winner" thread from yesterday that's four pages. Just examples of how we just WANT and enjoy some wins. We want to be excited; we want to be proud of the team that we have followed for years and years. Dammit, just give us something, SOMETHING; not the worst team in the history of MLB. What was that emotion I felt when Vargas hit that home run yesterday . . . . . Joy!! Actual joy! I just want to feel that more often. Can't this organization just give us that a little more often? Just a little something (hope?) to get us to 2027 and beyond?4 points

Congratulations for the worst take and post in the history of this site.3 points

No. One or the other. Greatness or total failure. There is no in between. It's the Soxtalk way.3 points

Who's making predictions? The Sox acquired a player making changes to produce. The defense looks real. The whole point of being a fan is to hope for production from players. If you are sure nobody here will be hall-of-famers who will make you feel better about yourself, why are you here mocking the people who are actually watching the games and assessing the players coming through the system?3 points

Rojas can play outfield and would be a preferable option to someone like Palacios imo. If it were up to me, I'd dump Vaugn, Palacios and Dalbec in favor of Elko, Fletcher and Rojas. They could DH Benintendi and have Rojas in left and Fletcher in right against righties3 points

That's a winning streak. It has been done before. Well pitched and well hit game. Some small stuff to clean up on the way to 95 wins no doubt.2 points

One of my favorite things about Quero at the plate is that he knows what the situation calls for. He has an excellent eye, will take the walk, but the other night when they needed a run, he expanded the zone on 3-1 to try to bring the run in. Didn't work, but it was absolutely the right approach. Very smart at the plate.2 points

5 for 11 with RISP. You do that every game, you're gonna win a lot.2 points

5-11 with RISP usually will get the job done. Break up the Sox...two in a row!2 points

I don't remember enjoying a single game last year. At least this team is entertaining at times2 points

The last time we had a good bunt followed by a good 3-0 green light to get a much needed insurance run in the bottom of the 8th my balls had not yet dropped.2 points

It's insane how patient our rooks are in comparison to our veterans who just think looking at strikes counts and pulling outside pitches counts.2 points

Ugh. Getz sounds like he's making it up as he goes along.2 points

Yup. They look much better out there on the field. I also think they look much better on the taller and more well proportioned players. Sorry Meidroth. Probably has something to do with the tops and buttons being different colors. All of the new hats are fantastic though.2 points

In no universe should you drop the cost controlled 25-year-old for 3 injured guys over 30 that are on 1-year deals.2 points

I'd say that's a pipe dream based on current evidence. The only way to find out if Elko can do the job is bring him up and given him plenty of at bats. The attitude of some here and Getz is they want him to fail, You still can't divorce stupid from this organization.2 points

Tim Elko was picked in the 10th round of the 2022 draft. His bonus was $35k. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Tim Elko knows what he is and isn't becoming "alienated" by waiting for Vaughn to fail out, get injured or be traded.2 points

Damn, the White Sox made this fanbase so miserable that a Sox winner thread turns into hate, insults, and sarcasm. Thoughts on the game, however: This is the version of Robert we need to see on a regular basis. Burke looked good after the shaky first inning (saved by Robert). Meidroth is back and already hitting. Baldwin is looking better every day. Vargas has looked much better since the adjustment to his swing. Obviously this doesn't mean he's fixed, and only time will tell, but there's a (dim) glimmer of hope for him.2 points

This damn stupid trade, not really even trying to sign Harper, and trading Tatis are the top 3 most infuriating White Sox moves in the last 20 years.2 points

Clevenger is the ultimate "DEI" hire. He sucks, and keeps getting signed because of his connections. He's taking the opportunity away from another player who has truly earned his spot.2 points
