  1. He’s on an innings limit and likely finishes in Chicago.

  2. Getz needs to find a way to get one interesting prospect out of Robert. Eat money, package him with other pieces, get fucking creative. Ideally we come away with an OF prospect who isn’t too far off, even if they come with some question marks. I can’t stress enough the value of the playing time we will have down the stretch and into next year. Basically zero major league ready OFs outside of Baldwin if that’s where we plan to play him. Look at a guy like Stowers who had a ton of question marks and would never have gotten a shot with the Orioles. He’s now an All-Star and even if his performance drops off some as the league adjusts to him, it seems likely the Marlins have an everyday player. We can afford to take guys like that or even post hype guys (say Jordan Walker on the Cardinals) and give them an extended runway to prove themselves.

  3. I am in Pittsburgh today precisely to sprain his ankle. You’re welcome.

  5. Perfect time for a Shane Smith IL stint. He's approaching his career high in innings pitched.

  6. If he has to be added to the 40-man in the offseason, sending him down in Spring Training would burn an option anyway. I don’t know his status there though on if he needs to be added or not.

  7. 1st time since last Sept that the Sox had back to back double digits hit games. 4 years since double digit runs games back 2 back ,2021.

  11. I actually think AJ would take the job if offered. I love the homer announcers, and AJ is actually a great analyst. He seems to love the Sox still.

  12. They had that game right before the all star break where they were hitting rockets all over the field at people, so I'll take it.

  13. Schriffen is such a bootlicker that I doubt he's going anywhere unless is its by choice. The org doesn't care about quailty as long as you kiss the ring. As for Stone, it is really time to call it a career, though I'm sure he as a job for as long as he wants. They are a miserable pairing, but it doesn't matter much until the org is ready to move on from both of them.

  14. Not sure what that proves. They played more than 2/3 of the season and the Sox significantly outdrew the Cubs in 1994 before Reinsdorf shut down the season.

  15. Well, better than his arm.

  16. That guy thought the Sox could use Alexander Canario but not Robert. I'd rather take my chances on a guy who actually accomplished something with 5 tools CF and 28 yrs old than a 25 yr. old guy who hasn't done anything with less tools. However when rebuilding you don't preclude anyone with upside and either one would fit that bill for trade purposes. The point of actually signing Robert again wouldn't necessarily be to keep him but to trade him again. Lots of people think the Sox should sign higher quality free agents to get better returns at the TDL. Of course that just gives guys like that more reasons to say Getz can't judge talent and is wasting money when slightly more expensive free agents fail, which is almost as likely as the cheap pickups failing. You can be sure he'll be there to rain on your parade and convince you to give up hope . There's still work to be done . Stay positive. You won't see him telling you that there were rumors that 40 analytical people were hired . I heard that on a recent Future Sox podcast . Can't remember if it was Hot Takes and Heaters or the show with Elijah Evans & Dylan Barnas MLB Draft Recap and Analysis. But it was a very recent podcast , not more than a day or 2 old. Podcasts are a whole other world than here where the outlooks are generally more optimistically forward looking. Not necessarily Merkin style but Elijah Evans in particular knows his stuff and he, like James Fox, are often interviewed for other podcasts like CHGO White Sox, Locked On White Sox, Sox in the Basement , and Sox Machine with James Fegan all who aren't just doom and gloom but present a more balanced outlook .

  17. He was set to undergo TJ in late March so it's probably safe to say that he won't be ready to begin the year.

  18. McDougal is Rule 5 eligible. He's a must keep which is why I'm expecting him to be on the White Sox 26 man to close out the year. He comes to spring training with the goal of winning a big league rotation spot with a host of others.

  20. I'd trade Houser as soon as someone offered something interesting. He's one bad start from being next to worthless.

  21. Smart of them to pay extra for the "Bob" so it would be clear which fanbase was behind this.

  22. Because the pathetic division by and large still has FAR more talent, especially the Tigers, than the White Sox.

  24. Plesac has potential but man his verbal slip-ups have been going wild. By the end of tonight's game Sosa had become "Lean." Good vibes between Schriff and Plesac, though. They're clearly having fun. Sometimes Schriffen and Stone have a good time together but other times it feels like Schriffen is begging Stone to wake up (or lighten up).

  29. I'm fine trading Tauch. Jump on a decent lottery ticket if you have to. Though if you could package him with other pieces for a better return I'd be all over that.

  30. Because large portions of games he is standoffish and silent. He's moody and does nothing to support the PBP guy.

  37. Episode 4 is the best. Lots of very emotional moments & new insights. I see why they waited to release this episode until after the reunion weekend as it included sme of the festivities including the emotional toast to Bobby Jenks. I can't believe it only has 11K views on Youtube If you are over 25 and a White Sox fan its must see TV?!!

  39. Do we know yet what cap Allen will wearing on his HOF plaque, my guess it will be a Phillies cap. EDIT Just looked it up, it will be a Phillies cap. Not only did I see Allen play with the Sox at Comiskey, I saw him in a Phillies-Dodgers game at Connie Mack Stadium in July of 1967 and also a Mets- Phillies game at Shea Stadium a month earlier.

  40. There is nothing wrong with the right guys learning more positions, but #1 on the list is for them to start before the majors.

  41. I agree, for me the best case scenario would be for Robert somehow becoming the 5 tool player he should be and wind up patrolling centerfield for the next 5 years and of course staying healthy. I know the odds are that this isn’t going to happen but one can always dream especially after what we saw last night from.Robert.

  42. It's all kind of a shame because the team that could really use Robert is the White Sox.

  47. These are the moves that Rick Hahn and Kenny failed to try, why not take a chance on a dude who has had 10 MLB ABs to see what he can do. He’s got pop he, he could stink or he could turn into a late bloomer like a Brent Rooker or Christian Walker. He’ll have plenty of opportunities to play
