There's been a few of us here saying Sosa was the most likely to improve and stick, of everyone around. His history shows it. Hilarious how much hype Vargas gets and hate Sosa gets. Sosa has now been more than 50% more valuable ytd than Vargas despite fewer games played.5 points

Rojas has to be done whenever Meidroth/Vargas are back off the IL. I feel for him because he clearly hasn't been right since the ST injury, but it is what it is. I can live with rookie struggles, but there's no room for a vet making mistakes like that.3 points

I enjoy reading the current entire game thread before checking the box score....I thought they were down at least 5-0 so 2-0 aint too bad...it aint good either.3 points

It's puzzling. Big gains from some lower level guys. McDougal has really broken out. Oppor and LaCombe are very interesting with great stuff. Some relievers have popped. Shane Murphy is really good. Hagen has had issues all year. I think Schultz is fine and was mostly struggling due to a knee injury that he was trying to pitch through. AAA is a b****. These guys are one step away from the majors and they use a new baseball and the ABS system for the very first time. The baseballs are inconsistent too. Lots of guys have complained about them. It's supposedly the big league ball though. I do really want to see Schultz and Smith with the big league staff though. I think Katz is very good.3 points

He has to be added before the Rule 5 anyway and too raw in what way? He's throwing strikes and the stuff is legit filthy. I'm not suggesting promoting Oppor or something. McDougal's mechanics right now are about as consistent as they're ever going to get. He's certainly ahead of H. Smith and Schultz in that regard. He's gonna be up in September anyway, so what I'm saying is not exactly radical.3 points

Three guys drafted last month have joined the lineup in Kannapolis and Wolkow is still 2.5+ years younger than all of them. He doesn't turn 20 until early next year. Kind of puts some things in perspective.2 points

The Sox players themselves apparently missed every game in Seattle too!2 points

I think some people envision me having a notebook filled with me practicing signing "Eddy Vargas" in it, and I think besides saying he could be a 3 WAR 3B (not crazy given the pace he was on for 2 months), I've also said he may not be on the next competitive team. He's a place holder until he taps into that top 40 potential with the bat.2 points

Brash is very good, but you have to find a way to score Luis there. HRs are fun, but 1-11 with RISP is not. Missing Meidroth/Vargas for some contact.2 points

You can tell how much work he put into his body. From a lower body standpoint he def stood out yesterday. He's thicc.2 points

Seems like they made the right choice to keep him. He will be more valuable in the offseason at this rate.2 points

Luis has been impressive in both ABs today. Full count both times, reached both times (BB and 2B), 16 pitches seen and only 2 whiffs.2 points

Schultz hit a wall Smith hit a wall Taylor was pushed into the bullpen McDougal has actually stepped forward Iriarte has been a disaster The AAA reliever group has regressed in Coffey, Gonzalez, and Palette Then there are all of the TJSs on top of that. It has been as close to a worst case scenario year for MiLB pitching as you can get.2 points

I don’t know why I’m taking the bait on this, but do you really not feel that a nice stadium with a nice backdrop improves the experience of going to a game?2 points

Sosa is really going to make this infield situation complicated for Getz. The kid looks firmly like a 110 to 115 wRC+, ~2.5 win player. Only 25.5 years of age with another four years of team control I believe. The challenge is 2B really appears to be his only spot, which will block several guys and/or force Meidroth to the left side of the infield (and I don’t love the idea of him as a 3B). Good problem to have though, but would love to see some of these kids get some OF time.2 points

I think some might be surprised where we have Sam Antonacci on midseason list at FutureSox2 points

Another big consideration is that DeVries was at least 2 1/2 to 3 years away from the big leagues, having only debuted in A ball. Braden Montgomery has already jumped him in four months. Then you had Teel Meidroth and even W.Gonzalez ready to contribute this year...waiting that long for Getz with Colson foundering and no pay off for fans until at least late 2026/early 2027 would have been a massive risk because there were so many holes to fill in the Sox future lineup. All depends on whether scouts believe de Vries can stick at big league SS or not.2 points

How the heck did the bears miss out on Aaron’s Donald to the Rams? These questions will never be answered. I have a question for you. Is outer space or the ocean more explored? Was Jon Garland a better pitcher than any SP for the white Sox in the last ten years? Get Noah up here2 points

There you go, In AAA if Antonnacci keeps up with this, with the contact and swinging strike, I think that Meidroth's level would probably be ceiling, in that probably in that 125-200 range.1 point

I have a lot of work to do as well! I get to NYC on a regular basis, but not much during baseball season. I definitely need to pick those up. Some baseball tourism is definitely on my bucket list.1 point

Ethan Salas was untouchable two years ago and now his prospect status is question mark city at best. So hard to judge and especially project players at 16-19 years old. Holliday looked like a slam dunk superstar and now he's still putting up just a pedestrian 700ish ops in his bounce back year for Baltimore. Same with the much more advanced Rutschman.1 point

His bat to ball skill in this day and each will keep him on a roster. So far this year his move to 2B has been a undeniable success as he's played it mediocre while hitting 8% better than league average across all positions.1 point

I already thought it was a moral victory to make Seattle use their closer in a game where your starter went 1.2IP/7ER, but I'm very open to an actual victory victory if the Sox have one in them.1 point

Welcome to The Book Colson Montgomery. Time to get to work. Nobody is going to throw him jack s%*# middle in and will pitch him backwards until he can prove he's not just hunting fastballs.1 point

Hopefully Mead just needed a change of scenery. He has shown he can hit. Let him have a good run of playing time this last two months and see what he is or isn't. Also can we please put Montgomery at one position and leave him there. Let him have to worry about one thing right now and that is hitting the baseball.1 point
