In his eyes, he brought six NBA titles and a World Series Championship to the city of Chicago. Flip it. How much more does Jerry need to give this city? Of course I don't agree with what I just wrote, but it's abundantly clear in his actions the last two decades he has very little passion or even interest in running franchises that have a goal of winning. His goal is profit. As a fan, I don't agree with that at all, I think both are obtainable, but it's harder to accomplish. Which leads to Jerry's other "trait" He's incredibly lazy. This whole idea of Jerry being ultra loyal is horseshit. Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Phil Jackson, Frank Thomas...all have been basically shunned by their former Chicago employer. He didn't hire Chris Getz because he's loyal, he hired him because he didn't want to go through an actual search committee, learn to work with someone new...they already had a guy in the payroll system, so just give the job to him. He shows a complete lack of interest in evolving with the times, citing David Eckstein as one of his favorite players as late as 2024, along with bringing up Branch Rickey in his press conference in hiring Getz. Branch Rickey has been dead for over 60 years. He is a stain on this city, and when he finally goes, it will be the most significant and impactful thing to happen to this franchise since 2005.
  2. It’s just more avenues to get his bat in the lineup.
  3. Clueless+awful=Schriffen
  4. A live look at Getz's roster moves.
  5. It's called trauma bonding. I found this photo of me at 2 weeks old while helping my mom clean out the house. I had no say in this matter from the start.
  6. I admire everyone that continues to visit this site and post daily. It’s very tough to continue investing time into the White Sox. Atleast we have the draft to look forward to, right?

    South Side, Stand Up!!!!!
  8. You big dummy
  9. Man. I'll take this Noah in Chicago please.
  10. Of all of the made up things to get mad about... this is one.
  11. Yes, known terrible human Jason Benetti.
  12. the 1.72 ERA across 62.1 innings is likely not being repeated, but I like this better than giving up a prospect for Cam Booser
  13. Jerry is a dolt.
  14. Different fans look at the sport in different ways so I don't begrudge you your feelings. Others, like myself, feel that winning is also part of things and since 2007 the White Sox have done very little of this. I can only speak for myself but it doesn't matter much to me if the sun is shining, the beer is cold or how many fans are in the stands. That's all secondary, the top item is did the Sox win the game? Are they having a good season?? And I simply can't see the MLBPA agreeing to a salary cap in any way, shape or form. When Ishbia takes over he'll have the financial resources to buy whatever pitching he needs should he choose to do so.
  15. Really could not have gone any worse, so there’s that at least. This is a sure fire 100 loss team if Shane Smith regresses along with Colson. Getting blown out and looking totally inept was a lot easier to swallow when the team was 90% dumpster dive players.
  16. As a big sport fan you see a lot of really amazing talent but you very rarely see excellence. In my life on teams I root for it's been probably like MJ, Megatron and Barry, Derrick for a short time, and then like Sale and Garrett and MB and Frank. I really appreciate Sale and Garrett, even if ultimately the franchise wasn't able to do anything to capitalize on their talents. Same with my poor Lions superstars. If anything it might amplify their excellence to have come out of such horrific environments.
  17. Durham @ Charlotte 6:05ct I believe Hagen gets the start.

We have several threads going or recently going (Fire Getz, Crochet Tracker, Benetti, Thomas Sues Sox) that all tie back to one thing: Jerry Reinsdorf is the controlling owner of this franchise. Until he's no longer owner of this team, this franchise will be a total joke and one of the worst operated in MLB. They'll continue to hire incompetent people, trade away All-Star talent, and alienate people who have been faces of the franchise. I'm just so sick and tired of this crap. None of this nightmare is going to end for Sox fans until Jerry relinquishes control of this team. I just hope our upcoming #1 pick pans out AND that JR is no longer owner by the time we get to the point where it's time to trade him away for some more prospects. I hope there will be enough of a fanbase left to salvage this franchise if he really hangs on to ownership until 2034.
  19. Don’t worry, the Sox won’t give up 14 runs every game. More like half that.
  20. Fun game. I drank too much. Was trying to get our boys to 20 LOL..
  21. Schultz faced the minimum over 4 innings. No hits, 5K, and 1 walk that was erased by a GIDP. Sat 97 and threw 6 pitches. Smith sat 96 and got a nasty 57% whiff rate on the fastball (8/14). Also 44% on the slider (4/9). 13 whiffs on 26 swings overall. Pretty, pretty good. Antonacci just cut down a guy at second from LF.
  22. Sox haven't made an announcement, but the team website's 40-man roster shows Gilbert as in the minor leagues.
  23. I wanted to go 83-86, but 81 is my target win total.
  24. Man I fuckng love this stadium
  25. But does he drive a Jeep Cherokee?
  26. nice to get some professional scouting in the organization
  27. Gotta be a soxtalker doing some profesh scouting for us all
  28. Hudson getting passed back and forth like a blunt.
  29. There seems to be a common theme that it's the guys who are developed in other organizations have the most success here.
  30. Yup! March 26, 2026 Japanese slugger Munetaka Murakami hits his 1st MLB home run on opening day vs. the Brewers. Murakami would go on to hit 44 homers and win AL Rookie of the Year, propelling the White Sox to the final wild card spot in the American League"
  31. BUT HAVE YOU SEEN HIM EAT A LOADED HOT DOG?!?!?!? Jerry, instructing his butler to throw a bottle of scotch at the screen:
  32. Available roster spots

I agree with you. The guy is 90 and hasn’t officially sold the Sox yet, but at least that is the plan and there is hope for new ownership. Not the same for the Bulls unfortunately. Keeping that team in the family will keep the Bulls in NBA hell for much longer.

He's not going anywhere unless he a) commits a felony or b) breaks the 11th Commandment: Thou Shall Not Speak Ill of Any Part of the Sox Organization
  36. Man it's hard to project hope after this one. Normally something I try to do but...double digit runs given up plus striking out 20 times...that's like a high school team playing a MLB team. That shouldn't happen
  37. It's kinda sad I'm not even interested this year. Didn't watch one spring training game haven't really followed. Reinsdorf doesn't deserve our time. Not that he cares. Yeah they say he wants to win, yeah like it's 1950. How can we as fans allow 46 years of incompetence? 9 playoff appearances in those 46 years and only in one they they go deep in the playoffs. Then This s%*# show. I was fricken 5 when Scrooge McReinsdorf bought the team. I don't know how any major sport can allow an owner do this. And in Fucking Chicago to boot one of the biggest markets. I hope for the best but I ain't counting on it...

I would think if the team loses 100 games in 2026, Getz will be replaced.
  39. Things will get better when JR is gone, Ishbia takes over and makes the changes so desperately needed on the baseball side of the operations.
  40. I love your recaps....it's like I was there.
  41. I'd like to revise my prediction please.
  42. Prove it then. Put up or shut up.
  43. The lower deck at the White Sox stadium is great. The upper deck is horrible and the location of the stadium is not a popular location.
  44. It's a risk but if he were a Sox he never get that but definitely traded. Are we looking at the contract with our budget Sox goggles? It's the Cubs, they can afford a bad contract.
  45. I don't know if you guys are still working on it @Chisoxfn , but open air Verizon still doesn't work.
  46. If he was a real friend, he would have stayed with T Mobile. Dump his ass.
  47. Haven't seen this discussed much, but MiLB will be testing out a range of rule changes this season. The most notable: Rookie ball: Starting pitchers removed for pitch count (25+ in an inning) will be allowed to reenter the game in the following inning (like in ST, but limited to once). AAA: Check swing challenged are being trialed in the PCL and FCL, using the same 2 challenge pool as ABS challenges. They won't be in the International League where Charlotte plays yet. Umps are being instructed to make swing/no swing called based on a 45 degree angle threshold (which is much more generous to batters than what most people consider a "swing"). AAA: PitchCom issues cost a mound visit now, and a clock violation when teams are out of visits. AAA: In the International League, second base is being moved about 9 inches in both directions towards first/third. AA: Pitchers only get one disengagement instead of two per PA. Between this and moving second in at Charlotte, Rikuu might steal 60+ High A: Batters can only ask for time with runners on outside of extenuating circumstances (injury, equipment issue, getting brushed back off the plate by a pitch) Low A: Batters can't request time at all outside of extenuating circumstances All levels: Pitch clock no longer resets for catchers leaving their crouch to give defensive signals, and it's a violation if they aren't back in position with 9+ seconds on the clock. The first one is a positive for development I think, but I don't love most of the rest. Curious to see how many of them stick. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/exclusive-mlb-to-implement-experimental-minor-league-rule-changes-for-2026/
