  1. Here is the thing. We all root for the Chicago White Sox. In most cases, your fandom is passed down from a parent, family member or friend. OP references his son, following in his footsteps. When you root for a team, you aren’t rooting for the owner. Jerry Reinsdorf isn’t the White Sox. When he dies, the White Sox don’t go with him. Now, that man has caused an incredible amount of frustration for us and deserves every ounce of vitriol thrown his way. He is a stain on Chicago sports and should be embarrassed of his ownership run. But he isn’t why I root for the White Sox, nor will it ever be. I root for them because I had White Sox wallpaper as a 4 year old, and I’ve got about 400 ticket stubs in a box from 1999-2020, and I’d guess a little more than half of those games, I was with my dad. Things suck right now. They are going to continue to suck until Jerry dies. Giving a second thought about a Brooks Baldwin injury or where Andrew Benintendi is batting in the lineup is a waste of time, because none of it matters right now. All we can do is hope that new ownership actually has even the faintest interest in actually winning, and things will be feel a lot better as a Sox fan. Until then…spend your time doing literally anything else.
  2. Sox fans are obsessed with service time manipulation. Play your best 25, period.
  3. You could have a low payroll with way more talent than what he’s acquired
  4. Having an extra year of team control would have been meaningful for... 1 prospect the Sox have promoted in the last decade? Cease definitely fetches more in a trade had that been true for him. It wouldn't have mattered for anyone else and I'm on high Antonacci but he's not exactly Konnor Griffin. Even for *this* organization manipulating Sam Antonacci's service time is embarrassing.
  5. Smith needs to build up some innings IMO
  6. This isn’t sad, my friend, this is awesome!!!
  7. I've outgrown this "go be a Cub fan" like it's some sort of insult.
  8. AI will find a way to stop/reverse aging and JR will be the owner for the next 10,000 years. Cinch it up and hunker down!
  9. I don't think you're alone in feeling this way. This is what's most concerning about this franchise - JR, through his incompetence, has driven away a significant number of life-long fans and killed interest in the team for many of the next generation. It's going to be hard to bring these people back and just getting good enough again to make it to the first round of the playoffs once in a while isn't going to be enough to turn things around and bring fans back. The good news is that, at age 57, you and your son should outlast Jerry Reinsdorf by several decades and he has a deep-pocketed billionaire lined up to take ownership of the team. We can only hope that the Ishbias will finally turn this franchise around in a meaningful way. Yeah, I know some Sox fans are convinced that Justin Ishbia is going to be just as bad as JR, if not worse, and that fans will simply turn on him too. I dunno, I guess anything is possible. IMO, I would just stop being a fan altogether if I thought this franchise is that doomed such that we'll see this same level of soul-sucking incompetence from the next owner.
  10. There is only one person who is responsible for this clown show and that is the owner, a fish rots from the head.

Really nice to see Zavala off to a great start. I think he’s been prematurely written off by some, but he’s still very young and had a sneaky promising season last year.
  12. Switch hitter apparently At least now they have a new jersey to sell!!! Mune Colson Teel are limping along
  13. Fandom gatekeeping is the dumbest s%*#.
  14. They aren’t that far behind too. Amazing to see how good Noah has been since his knee is back to normal. Welcome to the majors!
  15. Not easy to be so bad for so long.
  16. only if we had a GM who knew what he was doing...........
  17. Crazy thing is the pitching still stinks and have been pitching above their level and they still can't string some wins together. Bannister looking for back to back years having the staff perform a good bit better than skill level but talent is so bad it doesn't matter.
  18. Send him down to AAA and let Ant play 2nd. I’m shocked him and Quero suck.
  19. How do you think I feel, I turned 80 two months ago but as much as I detest Reinsdorf, I’m hanging in there and yes it’s tough but the White Sox are my team and always will be, right now I hope just to see a winning season soon.
  20. Look, it's a rough decade to be a White Sox fan. We get it. You are allowed to be angry, bitter, mad, whatever.
  21. Obviously talent is an issue on the team. But I also think the inconsistency from Venables is creating this issue too. You got to be consistent with young players. Quit playing them in multiple positions. Quit changing the lineup every game. Consistency!!
  22. This is a bit ridiculous. When your stats are disgusting to begin with, how much better can they get the next season? Regardless, Getz has the top pick and if he doesn’t get the best player in the next draft, he will have failed.
  23. Robert is an elite athlete. Every time I saw him run full speed to beat out a hit in the infield, I was expecting him to get hurt. That’s not good. I wish him well, but it was time to move on.
  24. If they get swept without scoring a run this series I'd probably just broom everybody monday morning.
  25. This lineup is an absolute joke. Getz is over his head.
  26. We do have to figure out why certain players don’t function here. Maybe if Robert just arrived from Cuba today, things would be different. If, the Sox are now different.
  27. Yikes. Can’t wait to watch him bring his 8.31 ERA and 1.85 WHIP from Charlotte.
  28. I haven't watched much more than a few innings a day but from what I can tell it's just a average defense at best. Chase and Mune don't have much range on the right side of the IF and Quero has been pretty bad. Fangraphs loves Colson's defense, 2 runs above average already, but we just have too many mediocre guys elsewhere.
  29. I've also talked to scouts, evaluators and media type evaluators about Cholowsky. I get how it works. Cholowsky is the clear #1 choice for basically everyone I talked to. Lackey has a real chance to go #2 but if the White Sox chose to not select Roch for whatever reason, it would likely be to take Emerson.
  30. Either the GM for coming up with this trash or the mgr for running it out there every day? The tv guys trying to make bubic effort sound cy young like when to me its just another average 10 plus k effort from the Sox batters. This is an absolute joke
  31. Tray doesn’t speak for this site, you are far from the only frustrated fan. Bubic is a good pitcher but you are right in that we shouldn’t be seeing his best personal game when we face him. Hopefully at some point this season we can point to some good progression and see that everything is starting to come together.
  32. Well, lackey is showing you right now since his stats are quite a bit better and he doesn't get to feast off the big 10. Can't understate enough how little his in conference production matters. And nothing ridiculous about it. Any signs that you've peaked as a player can be very concerning for a scout. You want to see parts of the game take a step forward which has not happened.
  33. Not sure how long it will take to work those pitchers into the rotation but the outlook for our pitching staff is promising and exciting. Noah is a monster - 6' 11". If Noah can be a TOR starter instead of say Shane Smith, that alone could potentially add some wins. Smith has thrown away two games already. IMO our infield (Vargas Colson, Chase, Mune and Teel) is one of the best if not the best infield we have had since 2005. Maybe envision an outfield with Antonacci, Periera and Braden Montgomery instead of the players that are cycling in and out of the outfield now and things could look a little brighter for Sox fans. As it is, some fans are wishing the team gets sold now and even wishing JR passes away every time the Sox lose a game. I mean, I get as upset as anyone when the Sox lose a close game, but come on people, let's put some perspective on things and try to stay positive.
  34. 1 point
Seemed like he found something in the second half and he's a hard worker. Rooting for him.
  35. What is this bulsh!t? Cutting your son loose to be a Cub fan ? Have you cut your son loose on religious belief or did you indoctrinate him with yours? Either you aren't really a White Sox fan or you like making absurd, illogical posts after a White Sox loss. Either way, I don't give a fvk what you think.
  36. Six straight games scoring three runs or less and 10 times in the 14 games played. That's....bad.
  37. The time was earlier, as in 2023, when Getz knew of his own plans to start another rebuild. Instead, he waited and got back a utility infielder than can’t hit as the return.
  38. The truly sad thing is that this division is pathetic. An owner that wasn’t trying to take his life earnings to the grave and a GM with half a brain could have taken this division easy this season.
  39. Problem is Getz and JR are content with this situation.
  40. Can’t expect to score a lot of runs with maybe 3 actual major league starters in your lineup. Just an embarrassing group of players Getz has acquired.
  41. Cuda was on that too. I would have say, some players are just not gonna make it happen where they are, and need to move on
  42. No one was gloating about it, just like no one is happily accepting losing. Deep breaths, y’all. We all want the same thing.
