  1. This was a game we lose 100% the last 3-4 years. Feels Good
  2. Bros out in right field made me think of
  3. Gotta give a big shoutout to Dan Wilson for some terrible bullpen management the past 2 nights.
  4. Strike 3 to Acuna appears to have justttttt barely clipped the zone. Good no-challenge (especially because you have to ask what is the benefit of buying this batter another strike anyway)
  5. Win or lose let's hope to see better energy from the guys tonight. Let's go!
  6. I just did a little survey, and every single mock draft/draft prospect ranking I could find (ESPN, NY Times, Bleacher Report, MLB.com, Sports Illustrated, Baseball America, Perfect Game, Bleacher Nation, and several others) had Cholowsky as their #1. It's not a Soxtalk phenomenon. Now maybe a "slam dunk 1-1" has to mean "nobody has entertained any doubts about his status whatsoever," (in which case I don't think any such prospect exists), but I don't remember a much stronger consensus building behind any #1 in recent memory.
  7. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/48571496/mlb-2026-pete-crow-armstrong-chicago-cubs-pca-production Feel like this bs article needs to be parodied now more than ever. PCA vows to cut down on telling b****** to suck his d*** after talking to a little league dad
  8. That's actually a good burn.
  9. Was expecting a flat game after this weekend and a long flight out west. Go get em tomorrow!

Sorry for doing this, but haven’t been able to access Soxtalk in the US since the site upgrade. However, while in foreign countries and on Wi-Fi, I am able to access. If anyone has a solution, please let me know.
  11. Also it feels great that both the hits in the 9th got past Josh Naylor.
  12. I'm probably something approximating an Acuna booster but I think it's fairly clear the Sox have seen him as a dead man walking for at least a couple weeks now. I don't think he survives the upcoming returns of Hays and soon thereafter, Pereira. I might lean towards just cutting Grichuk when Hays comes back but that will only delay the inevitable with regard to Acuna if the rest of the current squad stays healthy.
  13. That was huge. Also big credit to Mune not trying to be the hero and taking his walk.
  14. Have to give credit to Kay. The way the first went, I thought we were doomed. Mariners only had one hit the entire game...damn.
  15. Mariners fans must be so pissed off
  16. Win or lose, like using Taylor here
  17. Props to Kay for battling through it. Wasn't pretty, but it's still 5.1 IP of 1 hit ball.
  18. I am drinking every time Kay goes 3-2. Hammered already. Get him out before I end up in the ER.
  19. I also think the fact that it's been Roch vs. LeBron, Roch vs. Emerson, Roch vs. Lackey, Roch vs. etc. all year instead of the field against each other is indicative of his status.
  20. Such a noble gesture of kindness. So unselfish. If only the more people could sacrifice like PCA>
  21. Nah. Until it’s written in a player’s contract that they can’t participate in the WBC, I’m 100% in favor of their choice to play for their country.
  22. There's a line there. The ones who use slurs, or the ones who talk about things like dead parents and stuff like that? Sure, they have it coming. "You suck" is not it.
  23. Let's face it folks. the WBC isn't going anywhere. It's grown to be pretty successful and MLB wants to grow interest in the sport. So, what do people suggest be done going forward? That the White Sox prohibit any players from participating going forward? Doesn't seem plausible. Scrap the whole tournament because Teel missed several months due to injury? Not gonna happen. I'm not going to even waste time trying to explain why every player who was born in the USA isn't playing for Team A'murica. It's been discussed over and over and it's obvious that people just don't want to accept the rationale and will keep repeating the same complaint.
  24. I can tell you that T-Mobile is one of the WORST stadiums for constant piped in music. It's really bad especially on the visiting side in the 100 level as the speakers are above you by the club seats and boom all night. Mariners fans are a lot like Sox fans. If the team is mediocre and bad and the weather isn't great in spring they aren't going to come out. But if they are intriguing in mid summer you'll start to see some bigger crowds. My buddy whose a Tigers fan might be joining me tonight be nice to enjoy a game with the Sox not the doormat in the central if he's my chat companion.

As well as this team is playing and surprising many, I'm not sure they will be in a position to consider adding at the deadline. Nor do I think they'll be sellers. I could see a few minor trades, maybe to add a starting pitcher. But I'd hate to see them trade some of the future for a moderate upgrade for the near future.
  26. Somehow Oldsox busting out blood quantum isn't shocking to me. Like, I qualify for Italian citizenship because I have an unbroken line of Italian ancestry (with ancestors born in Italy). If I played ball, I could play for them based on that. Going by "blood," I'm at 50% through my mom. Any kid I would have would be 25% because my wife is German/Irish. He's trying to help grow baseball in the country where his family is from (which several Team Italy players stated) so that one day it is Team Italy instead of Team Italian Americans + A few Italians, Canadians and a Venezuelan.
  27. What about Antonacci, who did not get hurt during the WBC? Is he Italian enough for you to have played for Team Italy or is he also American?
  28. I would say just let him hit
  29. They seriously need to sit down and talk to the guys about leverage and the situations when it most makes sense to use a challenge. 2 outs, 0-0 count, non-RISP, 7th inning, platoon advantage...you just cannot be wrong on a challenge there because you stand to gain so little.
  30. Challenge a fucking pitch. Last 2 days these guys do not seem to give a crap about challenging bad ball/strike calls
  31. This is the first time I can recall the lineup just looking overmatched since maybe the Brewers.
  32. Had to throw 76 pitches but got out of it
  33. Gotta play the Lovely Ladies for the prestige money
  34. If she is so close, then yell “SOXTALK RULES” right now while she is on air
  35. Kid is a rookie, he will learn when it is the right time to be aggressive in the majors. I would say the dropped ball was a more heads up play by him to try and get a double play, there was no harm in trying it. The 2B ump didn't say anything and he almost got away with it. The interference was iffy IMO, yeah he was in the wrong spot but the runner could have easily avoided him, he has also been trying to learn LF in the minors and majors so I can see how there are mental lapses with playing 2B especially as a rookie. The out at 3rd was dumb, I can see why he tried though, they were shifted quite a bit, rookie at 3B with has backed turned and a walk in the 1st inning. He will learn, he will still make outs but will also gain bases and runs with the aggressive nature. I don't want him to be different though
  36. At least he's less likely to get heckled at home?
  37. I was always more of a fan of Baseball Stars, even though it didn’t have real players like RBI Baseball.

    Gonzo bomb lol.
  39. .330 / .465 / 1.149 with 21 HR's and still more games to play. There is no problem with Roch, and while by definition that's currently "worse" than he did last year, its not as negative as you keep pushing. Im not sure I see the concerns you do.
  40. BPA for me, always... and especially with the first pick. Drafting for need in baseball is a death sentence in the long run.
  41. Turned this one off after the 8th just a dud other than Noah pitched pretty well. Cool damp morning here hopefully warms up like yesterday by game time. Was not a great crowd last night from looks of it. Curious to see if they get a few more tonight.
  42. Wonder boy was also butt hurt because she called him "PC Triple A". LOL.
  43. but, but.....they don't care about the Sox! 🤣
  44. Notice that no one is upset that Benintendi didn't play for Italy this past year. Edit: Except my mom that loves all Italian American ballplayers, including Benintendi.
  45. I’ll blame this loss on being drained after the weekend series and then having to go to the west coast yet again.
  46. I have seen more than 1 video today from Cubby apologists basically saying the fan had it coming because she was wrong to say PCA sucked because he almost made an amazing catch. I'm sorry but a fan saying "you suck" does not warrant the response of "suck my F...ing d@ck b$_ch" I say grow up Pete and I would think some veterans on the Cubbies would think the same thing.
