Will be interring to see the length of Pereira’s assignment. This second time around, Hays was supposed to get nine games or so at Charlotte. Everson is only at two games so far and only one in the actual field. Realistically, he gets another week in Charlotte and a total of eight games, which would have him ready for the road series against the Yankees. Would they try to rush him even faster for next weekend’s series against the Dodgers? Rehab duration wise that would only be 5 games, which seems very unlikely. More importantly, if the Dodgers rotation holds, we’ll face three RHP in Sasaki, Yamamoto, & Sheehan. While I think he may be an upgrade over Rikuu against RHP, his most obvious benefit is against LHP and I wouldn’t consider rushing him unless it was for that need. Also, FWIW, the Yankees are currently projected to have two lefties face us in Rodon & Weathers. Again, that’s the series I would expect Pereira back for.
