You tell me. You said this is one of the worst teams in the MLB pre-season and somehow they have the 3rd best record in the AL and 9th overall in baseball. As such, I guess we can attribute close to 10 wins to the magic that Vasil brings to the clubhouse.

They weren’t late inning defensive changes. They were offensive changes that are now on defense. You can debate whether the pinch hitting was actually beneficial, but they were playing for runs there down by 2.

Teel going 5 for 6 yesterday gets me pumped. Add in Mune doing on the field exercises and we are about 2 weeks from having a whole team again. Just tread water and win/split series until they get them back and a SP trade for a realistic chance at the post season.

It’s true. Throughout this season so far with the late inning comebacks and clutch hits I just can’t get Vasil off my mind. Whenever he isn’t on camera I say “where is Mike Vasil?” It’s a stupid harmless thing he does. The people getting so worked up about it seem like the same people who’d rather see the Sox be bad so they can say “I told you so” about everything.

I'd expect Gonzo to be the move for Murakami, as he needs more seasoning and there won't be LH at bats available at 1B anymore. He's also 0 for his last 20 facing primarily favorable platoon matchups, while Acuna is 9 for his last 21. I really think people misdiagnose both the roster reasons why Acuna survives and the player archetype it would take to displace him if that's what you want.

And to your point, even public defensive metrics are split on Colson with OAA believing he is one of the best SS’s and DRS having him negative on the year. Maybe there is a bit more nuance to it than the loudest poster on this site would have you believe.

I definitely would not trade low on Carlson, but the question becomes is this trading low? If this version of Detmers is legit, then getting 2 1/2 years of him for Carlson and the other two pieces is a good deal for us. That’s really comes to scouting and I haven’t seen enough of him to have strong convictions either way. I do think that Carlson is worth substantially more than Shelton though and if a bad Angels team is blowing things up then they’ll prefer the higher ceiling talent no doubt.

Vasil is making a fool out of himself by acting like a clown. Instead, he needs to act like a player, in his case a pitcher, and maybe station himself in the dugout to watch the game and help relievers.

Just take the most talented player and worry about the rest later. If they deem Roch as the best player in this class, they should take him.

That is exactly what I am hoping for, too much talent on our hands.
