  1. Also, that's probably the most intense 4 days of baseball since the ALDS. That was ass puckering and at times infuriating. Good to care again.
  2. These guys do not care about the previous days. Splitting that after two walk offs is huge.
  3. Huge win yesterday. Burke has officially become our stopper and helped us reclaim a 1st place tie of the AL Central. Today’s game, if it evens gets in, is going to come down to who can hit more IMO. For the Sox, we’ll start things off with Murphy as our opener before going to Fedde. As I outlined in the “Trade Proposal” thread, Chris has been outstanding since Jun 1st and is setup for success today against a Guardians lineup who hasn’t fared well against LHP (85 wRC+) and is missing their best hitter against them in Jose Ramirez. After that is when things get murky. Fedde has been pitching well as of late (2.39 ERA & 3.41 FIP since Jun 1st), but it feels like smoke & mirrors with a 6.49 K/9 and he isn’t providing much innings (~4 1/2 on average during this timeframe). While I always want to be an optimist, I will continue to scream that an implosion is eventually coming for Erik. Let’s just hope it’s not today and that he & Murphy can keep us alive through the 6th. Meanwhile, the Guardians are throwing Tanner Bibee. On paper, his 2-9 record would suggests he really sucks, but that’s only partly true. On the season, he’s put up a 3.69 ERA, but expected figures like him much less with a 4.55 FIP & 4.52 xERA. Dude throws six pitches including three fastball with over 20% utilization. His K rate is down quite a bit this year sitting around 7.5 per 9. Overall it’s not great pure stuff relying on location and favorable extension to be successful. While he pitched incredibly well in his last start against us (6 IP of shutout ball), I still believe this guys is very much hittable in his current form. Just need to be a bit more selective and wait for pitches that can be damaged. Again, not optimistic this one gets played, but if it does I’m predicting the Sox squeeze a nail biter 5 to 4. Let’s fucking go!!
  4. That game took a couple years off my life. Thank God they didn't choke it away again. Got a split in Cleveland and back alone in first place despite all that bullshit in this garbage series. Tough to ask for more than that when every game against this team is seemingly a coin flip. Good job Sox. We FUCKIN
  5. Given the state of the pitching staff and the lousy weather this weekend for them to come back and gain a split is tremendous and says something about their toughness. A well deserved off day to give the pitchers a rest should help before the home stand leading into the break. You have to tip your hat to them the way they responded.
  6. Regardless of 'coulda shoulda' in all of the games.... I'll take a split in Shithole Cleveland EVERY time.
  7. Split feels better than 2-2 given how it could have gone. That's the sort of thing that keeps a season going. Now get Mune healthy, get some pitching additions from Farm or wherever and lets roll.
  8. Nice job pulling off the series split. Could have easily swept them. Could also have easily lost them all. Baseball.
  9. Yesterday was a good game. Cant blame that last inning on fedde. Should have been out of it with no damage.
  10. Murphy pitched better than that inning indicates. His defense failed him.
  11. If Roch did what he has done in the SEC that would be one thing, but he put up his numbers in the weak Big Ten. I don't think Roch is the sure thing everyone thinks he is.
  12. Give credit to Getz. Newcomb, Grichuk, Peters, Vargas, Mune, Chase, Kay, Hudson have all been brought here by him and have all been positives. A few sis for sure but overall the last 2 years have had some good moves by Getz.
  13. 4 points
3 walks for Bones today, 12 BB to 15 K in 17 games at AA now He really might have just been forcing it in A+ when teams stopped giving him much to hit
  14. Huge win and huge recovery after blowing the first two games. While this team has flaws no doubt, it could have easily been a 4 game sweep.
  15. They're nerve-wracking but when our team wins...FEELS GOOD
  16. We came to get the W for you all ..and we got it! These fans have to go back to their Cleveland homes 😂😂😂
  17. He's a rookie. I'm pretty sure they can tell him he's earned his spot, but because of normal roster issues, he's got to take one for the team, and go back to AAA. They can assure him he'll be first up in the case of an injury. These guys have all been benched in HS, they've gone through soul-crushing slumps, they been on horrible teams. I can't imagine Gonzo would take the wrong message from a normal roster crunch.
  18. We are not on standard time. How many times??? We are on Daylight time until November. The game is at 1:00 central daylight time. Just use CT all year. Thank you. And Go Sox!!
  19. I've never been happier to be wrong about a player. Good for him, he deserves it.
  20. 4-3 road trip, which could have easily been 6-1 or 7-0, the losses seemed very winnable. But no complaints here - just stay .500 or better on the road and keep crushin at home! 2 more series at home after off day tomorrow before the ASB and we have a chance to break the franchise record for home series won in a row. I think we have won 9 straight. Oh yea - Mune should be back in a few days too
  21. Also if Kay doesn't get rained out of his good start
  22. Credit to Venable for managing this team to victory.
  23. If we didn't step on our dick so much we'd have won 3/4 easy, but whatever.
  24. f*** YES BOYS! Huge bounce back to split the series. First place!
  25. Bringing in Ser makes the tension go away, cuz you know he'll lose it.
  26. Teel over anxious. Jumpy swinging like a mad man. Not playing the situation
  27. Infinite aura from Vargas right there, God damn.
  28. Need to get multiple runs here and then lock them the f*** down for once.
  29. I generally will pay for streams but it’s starting to get stupid with all of these platforms. I live in Michigan so when the Sox play the tigers I can’t watch because of the stupid blackout mlb.tv rules, so in that case I’ll use a free streaming site. I’m not paying bs Detroit sports net or whatever it is just to watch them. I paid for mlb.tv to be able to watch a full season of baseball, I should be able to watch all the games. And post season should be included as well.
  30. All I've learned is I need to call the police on a lot of you.
  31. 3 points
Solid outing from Gabe Davis. 4 IP, 1 ER (solo shot), 2 H, 1 BB, 5 K. Some good adjustments after a rough welcome to AA.
  32. I just hope no one gets seriously injured playing on this wet field.
  33. For me it's not about why they couldn't dry off the warning track, it's about why they failed to let the interested parties know about it in time to prevent the teams from warming up too early.
  34. I knew this would draw you out! Unfortunately, you better hope for a loss, because otherwise I’m riding out the CST!
  35. Hit tool is the hardest skill to project and as a carrying tool I hate it. This kid is facing mediocre HS pitching and even on the summer circuit he's facing what is basically ASL at best. At best. Other games it's just more mediocre HS pitching. Just pick Roch or Lackey and do not outsmart yourselves. Let someone else take on that downside risk. You have the #1 pick, no need.
  36. I’m glad we don’t go with the dreaded Sunday lineup for every day game.
  37. Burke pitched one hell of a game. It's a shame he wasn't able to get the win but he kept the team in it. They won't get swept and the worst they'll be is a game out heading into a much needed off day. Just a gutsy performance tonight breaking that nine game losing streak in Cleveland.
  38. Nice win. Just getting closer to Mune being back.
