  1. Sean Burke vs. Sonny Gray. Going to be a fantastic pitching matchup. Team should be hungry after its ass whipping yesterday. Burke is also from Massachusetts so I’d expect he’ll be amped up pitching in front of friends & family. It’s going to feel like a playoff game tonight. I flew into Boston last night with the wife & eldest son and will be in attendance. I refuse end the day without a White Sox win. Let’s fucking go!
  2. I read that LAD just made Roki Sasaki use a bigger glove so it's more difficult to pick up on a tip. Let's send Davis out looking like this next start.
  3. After the game, we'll hear that Kyle Teel noticed that Sonny Gray was indeed NOT tipping his pitches.
  4. Take the PCA jerk off session somewhere else, please.
  5. Ok - will see you logged out until 2027.
  6. I’m usually far from a homer/everything is great type of fan…but I really don’t understand what the complaints are in this thread? Is it supposed to be a bad thing that Antonacci and Montgomery locked down the OF corners way earlier (or at all for Sam) than expected? Am I supposed to be mad that Peters has been an extremely pleasant success story? Hays got hurt and the young kids stepped up making him irrelevant to roster. Who cares? And who cares about Everson Pereria while I’m at. His a fringe big leaguer that has no spot on a playoff roster.
  7. Getz off-season FA MLB additions so far: Hays - DFA'ed Seranthony - Given away as if he was worth zero Reese McGuire - Released Fedde - (-.3 fWAR with a 5.4 FIP) Murakami - Obviously great, but a reminder that he fell into their laps Kay - .8 fWAR with a 4.8 FIP (I'd call this a solid signing even though I'm not a fan of Kay's. He's definitely covered some innings and given them a chance to win games.) Our World Class GM that has "earned" the benefit of the doubt!
  8. Giving up on a career .282/.340/.477 against LHP you sunk $6M into for nothing when you struggle against LHP is head scratching to say the least.
  9. I’m literally sitting next to Sean Burke’s grandma. What an awesome woman and what a special experience for her. Need to reward her and the rest of their family with a win.
  10. It would be nice if someone would tell the hitters to stop hunting fastballs from a guy who has shown you he’s not going to throw many. It’s like knuckle ball rules at this point. If it’s low it won’t be a strike.
  11. What a mysogonistic and homophobic comment Tray. I expect better from you as the Board Wokesperson.
  12. I'll also be in attendance tonight, Aura Pavilion 1B side. Let's gooo!
  13. You also can't count Murakami because he fell into their laps. He literally flew over from Japan and played "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel on his boombox until Getz finally gave in and signed him.
  14. DFA’ing two outfielders, including a 25 year old? It’s fairly obvious at this point that Getz ran out of time at the trade deadline and mismanaged the roster. I don’t think this can be denied at this point. He was obviously trying to eliminate the roster crunch by moving Pereira/Hays in some deals before the deadline but failed to do so.
  15. WOW DID YOU SHOW HIM UP!
  16. Nobody wants to come out and say it? Fine, I WILL IM EXCITED FOR JOSE URQUIDY TO GET MARTINS NEXT START THERE I SAID IT
  17. This might be the most unhinged sentence ever typed on Soxtalk.
  18. Most blown leads after 7 in MLB by a decent amount, more blown saves than saves on the season
  19. Some of you are so forgiving of other teams flaws while any the White Sox have is a crime against humanity.
  20. Ozzie: "What's up with that guy Drew Romo? He's not good." lmao
  21. Journalism is dead for not praising this trade
  22. 3 points
No he wasn’t. He also got better as the game went. He had a nice finish before they pulled him bc of pitch count. Gave up 1 er in 4 innings. Lot of swing and miss at the end.
  23. They look young and tired. They’ve been on the road a lot against a lot of good teams since the all star break they’ve only played 6 games at home. Being home could help do wonders for them.
  24. We will do the same thing in the 7th
  25. Whatever. This schedule sucks. You really couldn't send us into a worst environment, this Boston team is playing like a 120 win team and nothing is stopping them, certainly not at home. Just try and avoid a sweep and move on.
  26. These threads have become absolutely unbearable. Good god.
  27. They split with the Yankees and took 2 of 3 from the Rays.
  28. Our guys are in a weird cycle where they blow challenges on a poor call to challenge, then they don’t want to challenge worthy calls, and it also seems like they don’t want to challenge early either. That first strike on Colson was suspect and you could see he wanted to
  29. Speaking of nicknames, did anybody catch Plesac mention golfing with Craig "Little Hurt" Grebeck yesterday and Schriffen clearly having no idea who he is? I need my next Sox announcer to know things like this.
  30. Point of order: Don't ask the Sox for rehab advice.
  31. Doesn't fit the narrative
  32. what about Peters?
  33. Except for all the free agents who worked out spectacularly, every single free agent signing was a failure.
  34. Have you already forgotten the sensational Rikuu Nishida? 😄
  35. How about trying an opener for Martin before the IL ? In both the Yankee & Red Sox games he struggled big time in the first inning.
  36. Falstaff, I think we all did. Maybe not oldSox I dunno
  37. I'm going through IVF with my wife right now, hasn't been successful for about a year and a half and it's certainly taxing and I have my wife by my side most days. I can't imagine how painful losing a child at any age would be. There's this sense in the IVF circles that once the child is born you can relax a little so to spreak, but then you hear stuff like this where tragedy can strike at any moment. To say someone should put that all aside to focus on playing a child's game is a pretty brutal take.
  38. Are you excited about Jose Urquidy coming to the White Sox?
  39. What the hell, man? Until you go through something like this, don't talk about it. Trust me, it is NOT a bump in the road. It's devastating and something you get through, not over.
  40. Between dishonestly using racism as a tool, and now this, you are a terrible person. A child died, and now you are exploiting that too? Have a little shame. Everyone processes death differently, and you don't get to decide how people process their death of their child. Grow up.
  41. Someone needs to slow down the Red Sox a little bit. Why not us? Happy its not another leftie today.
  42. Are you OJ Simpson?
  43. Rough Mariners debut for Seranthony vs. Detroit Walk (to Baez!), single, RBI groundout, 3 run HR, solo shot, single, walk. 0.1 IP, 4 H (2 HR), 4 ER, 2 BB.
  44. Brazoban joins Hicks as a Sox pen arm with an elite barrel%
  45. I have never seen Bonemer play. I guess if the Sox traded him for a questionable player, I wouldn't be able to complain. I like James, but his argument makes no sense.
  46. Fine. Nothing earth-shattering but also nothing to work myself into a lather over. I like the Brazoban, Bart, and Castillo moves. The Doyle trade confuses me, but the player dev side has earned some runway. Hope they are in a position to push more chips in next season, but I get why they didn't.
