  1. WHAT A TIME TO BE DEAD
  2. There goes Will again, trying to lose a game again on purpose with his lineups. Wait a second...
  3. I think you extend Vargas and Mune right now and let the rest sort itself out over the next couple of years.
  4. Heck of a series win. Maybe the most high leverage three games of the season. I haven’t posted all year, but I’ve been to a few games, and have been following more closely than I have since 2022. I’ve been enjoying the hell out of this season. Hi to everyone I know here, and Go Sox.
  5. Fun fact: "Mune" in Japanese means "chest," and it can be used in a polite-ish context to mean "breasts." So Schriff is basically screaming out "show me your breasts."
  6. Typing this with one hand and unfortunately, I can't do something on Tommy. Passed away today bladder cancer. He was 83. I grew up watching him and then had the chance to meet and talk with him when Steibrenner brought the Yankees to Grambling in 87 if I remember right for an exhibition game. I was working in TV then and we covered it. John got the start for the Yankees. He's the last of the great Sox pitchers of the 1960's who made the All-Star Team. Him, Ray Herbert, Gary Peters, Juan Pizarro and Joe Horlen. This from my interview with J.C. Martin: ML: Tommy John (1965-1971.) Won 14 games both in 1965 and 1966. Member of the 1968 All- Star team. Sox record 82-80 but overall in his career won 288 games.) JCM: "He was a fun guy. He was a pleasure to catch because he only had one pitch, an 82 mile an hour sinker. Guys on the other team would see him and be yelling ‘go warm up’ because they couldn’t believe he was throwing that softly. He’d throw 20 ground ball outs a game. He threw more "worm killers" (Author’s Note: ground balls) then anybody I’d ever seen. And of course there was this: August 22, 1968 - In Detroit, White Sox pitcher Tommy John was attacked by the Tigers Dick McAuliffe. McAuliffe, who made the final out in Joe Horlen’s no-hitter in 1967, walked in the third inning then attacked John while going down the baseline. John had a 3-2 pitch sail over McAuliffe’s head just moments before. As the benches cleared McAuliffe and John wrestled near the mound, during it McAuliffe’s knee struck John’s shoulder damaging it so badly that he went on the disabled list and was lost for the year with a separation. He was 10-5 with an ERA of 1.98 at the time he was hurt. McAuliffe was suspended for only five games. He of course was traded for Dick Allen. Hope the Sox honor him the next homestand and that he gets into the Hall of Fame.
  7. Could care less about what the Cubs do but the twins, tigers and guards all losing is fantastic. Great weekend for the White Sox!
  8. The White Sox are now 14-7 on the season in Sunday games, they are 7-0 since the beginning of July. Their literal Sunday lineups have a .667 win% this year.
  9. Oh my God. We are actually having legit conversations in August about playoff seeding.
  10. I don't understand why they are so puffy chested. Their team played like s%*# all year so much that they traded their best pitcher.
  11. Cubs next and they might be coming back to earth as they’re struggling against the Cards, if we can win 2 in Wrigley, it will be huge.
  12. Brother, in your head it's probably still 0!
  13. I was at the Friday night game and pretty much every tiger fan I interacted with informed me they were gonna easily sweep us. Walked up to the concession stand same time as a tiger guy and he said," oh you're a White Sox fan. I feel bad for you coming all this way just to get swept so you go in front of me." I said nah you go ahead lol. All the tigers fans sitting near us said similar things when we got to our seats. It was so gratifying when those people left after Miguel's second homer lol. I gave them a "you guys leaving already?" What a sweep though! I love this team!
  14. Sox win. Guards losing. Tigers lose. Twins lose. Cubs lose. The Earth is back on its axis.
  15. Did you know Cleveland also doesn't have a winning record so does who they are playing really matter since they, too, suck a fat one?
  16. Burke has his first bad game in a month and somehow these guys still find a way. Very impressive. You can't ask for anything more from them under the circumstances this weekend. Now don't get swept at Wrigley, at least win a game.
  17. 5 points
    And I’m a Packers fan.
  18. Will does a lot of great things but burning the bench too early is a bad habit he has. It's a 4-4 game in the 6th, you have a decent chance of going to extras. Stop blowing up your bench too early.
  19. Finally someone besides Romo gets it done. More of that guys...Drew can't carry you bums forever.
  20. The Sox shouldn’t be operating like the Rays and Brewers moving forward. They have nothing on the payroll after 2027 and Ishbia is looking. At the bare minimum, Vargas should be here through the duration of his team control. Trading him as the team is ascending would be mind boggling.
  21. Thanks! Now I can bookmark and share in every game thread he hits a HR for all the Schriff fans! (There are many)
  22. Mize would look good on the South Side next year.
  23. Not winning the division at this point would be a let down, I don't want to think about a wild card berth, it's AL Central or bust for me.
  24. I didn't visit during the game so read the 25 pages. I love the one extreme to the next in a matter of minutes, sometimes seconds. Our threads are an emotional roller-coaster. A+ entertainment Started out Burke sucks, we are blowing the sweep. Then Romo is celebrated until he blows another challenge, colson really turning it around, Peters is on fire, romo sucks again, Venable sucks, bullpen sucks, Brazaban has lost it for the season, vargas HR and this team is awesome again and headed for the world series, then the pen is going to blow this in the 9th. And it ends with acceptance of the win and Venable can coach another day.
  25. Tigers fans in absolute shambles. They crawled all the way into the 2nd WC the last month then in the highest leverage games to date, maybe of the entire season, they s%*# THE BED.
  26. If its and buts were candy and nuts....oh what a party Detroit would have.......SUCK IT TIGGERS
  27. If the Sox play .500 ball the rest of the division would need to be like 690 ball. I just don't see that happening.
  28. The biggest sweep since the world series.
  29. Hey @fathom my computer won't load the standings are the Sox in 4th place like you said they would be by this time? Please advise!!!!
  30. Statement series from the Sox. Just when everyone thought Detroit would begin to overtake us, we show them who's boss.
  31. Already won the series with Burke on the hill to go for the sweep......me likey!!!
  32. Kind of would like to see Chase in the 2 hole. Making tons of hard contact. Sam Chase Mune Vargas Beni Braden Colson Peters Romo

White Sox are first in AL runs scored and RBI’s Third in homers and OPS
  34. You need really good starting pitching for long winning streaks and we don’t have that.
  35. Dunno, but 45 seconds after yesterdays game my son sent me a text emoji of Tigger crying.:)
  36. Really need to win today. Sox ace is up and a tough week upcoming. I don't know where this "easy schedule" stuff from a while back came from; Sox also have had some "when you play them" misfortune, such as the upcoming series with the Mets.

I’d be surprised if he hit a fair ball from each side of the plate in one game.
  38. I still don’t trust our starting pitching beyond Burke. Just me being pessimistic, but I’ve been conditioned this way through a lifetime of traumatic seasons.
  39. Hicks is signed for 2027, but Newcomb will be a FA. Resigning Newcomb would be a nice move I hope the Sox get it done in the off season.
  40. 0.95 ERA and .789 WHIP since his return from the IL, 28 K to 5 BB
