He could help a lot in the early inning relief appearances. Lopez's stuff looked amazing today. He was hitting 97-98 and dotting it right on the corners against Ramirez and Reyes. If a relief role is going to make him useful, then by all means, keep him there. I think it would be beneficial for him to take over after Keuchel goes 2 times around the order.
