Eloy Out 6-8 Weeks

When and if Eloy comes back, still no guarantees even if he becomes the DH unless someone can act as his designated runner to the bases.

This guy is not fundamentally sound in any aspect of the game other than hitting a baseball.

He would be a first-ballot HOF player for batting cage excellence.

Reinsdorf doesn't pay for top notch scouting. As a result they end up with a team of flawed players.

If it's a grade 2 hamstring tear, it's painful but likely doesn't require surgery.  Not a medial expert but this seems about right.  If I recall, Madrigal's was grade 3.  Madrigal couldn't get up on his own.  Eloy was at least able to get up on his own before being carted.   We will almost certainly get him before the All Star break.

Madrigal tore the attachment off the ischial tuberosity. This is why surgery was indicated to reattach it to the bone.

Over the last 24 days, the Sox have had injuries to the following:

Crochet, Lynn, Giolito, Vaughn, Robert, Moncada, Harrison, Eloy, Pollock

This is insane

Don't forget, they added the pre-injured Kelly to the mix as well.

Injury prone players get......injured. Crochet was bound to happen. Lynn is getting old and is out of shape. Gio situation was minor.

Agreed. All of those guys listed are injury-prone and/or old.

Maybe, just maybe there's a reason why younger and/or healthier players are worth more in FA?

Also, maybe this FO should, like, try to figure out why this is happening, and to intervene?

(Yes, short spring training, and all, but this is ridiculous. )

TLR gets blamed for a lot of things but Eloy injuring himself running in a straight line probably shouldn't be one of them.

Eloy pulled up just a tad Friday running to 1B and TLR got on him.

So Saturday Eloy goes full out on a groundball that he shouldn't be which led to the injury.

TLR definitely gets the blame.   There is a time and a place to go full out and an easy ground ball to 3B is not one of them especially with the shortened ST and all of the injuries happening again this season across the league and even our team.

Peak delusion. Eloy should be okay to run in a straight line regardless.

6-8 seems really optimistic. Also ...as i said earlier he is the one guy sox can afford to be hurt.. Vaughn has to play everyday, and this will accomplish that

The main result is Vaughn has a spot now. Just ignore the ones who can't stay healthy. MLB fitness is a sad joke and we see what happens when guys build themselves up. It backfires.

He pulled up and cost the Sox 1 and 2 with 2 out instead of out of the inning. A body should be able to hold up running hard to first or there really is no sense playing the player. You are going to have to run hard sometime.  The Sox have led the league in hammy injuries the last 3 years. It cost Allen Thomas his job. I'm sure they are doing something different.  Hopefully they stop. I can't stand LaRussa, but if asking a guy to run hard down the line is wrong, they should just cancel the sport.

Tell that to the 100 players already injured running to 1B this year.

There is a difference between running hard through the base and going all out which caused the injury.  As a manager TLR should be teaching/preaching this but instead he demands all out every play or Leury will be in there everyday and no one, not even the team wants that so you get injuries

And at the moment, even that can be argued
