What if they agreed to eat half of his salary? i’m guessing Detroit would agree to about any trade for him. i know his numbers are BRUTAL with the Tigers, but is there a chance this guy can turn it around? Not sure why they would want him through 2027, even for half $49M, with Montgomery likely on track in 2025. That said, his power numbers would improve in a different ballpark, think $12M a year for a contending team would make sense if Tigers ate half and shipped him. It’s something they should’ve did during the last rebuild but didn’t do, maybe JR is opposed to doing it.
