Men committing physical violence against women is wrong. Only exception is self defense and only to the degree necessary to avoid injury to self. If a woman is so f***ed up mentally that she requests you choke her out, or punch her, walk away.

If its consensual its not wrong, and there are plenty of women who are into physicality. I can assure you someone you consider very stable and "together" in the head is into some fucked up stuff.

Bauer is guilty of being dumb enough to let a girl like that get close to him.

Bauer is guilty of being unliked by his peers and the media.

Teach your kids that if you are dumb and piss enough people off, they will come for you, regardless if you are deserving or not.

The MLBPA, the Dodgers and the media (specifically baseball media) should be ashamed of themselves and I hope they pay dearly.  If Bauer comes back to the MLB I hope he tries to opt out of the union or something to shed light on how they treated him.

After all, they offered, right?

Based on her texts, I’d say strong possibility she’s fucked up mentally.

Based on the history of MLB handling this, I think either something has come out more recently or there are items out there that he is not addressing.

My issue in all of this is the media handling.  There is a reason why players are suspended with no back story into it like Jimmy Cordero.  That came out of nowhere and was a major suspension.

Then there is Clevenger and the media (mainly WSCR) that ran unsubstantiated proof and interviewed an alleged victim while station employees went on a witchhunt.  He didn't even get a slap on the wrist.  That punishment was barely a CYA by MLB.

Yet here we are with some still wanting him to be gone, which he probably will.  If you want him gone because of the COVID/Francona action fine but the Indians are still hanging on to that ring leader so I'm not certain there is stock in that as well.

The MLBPA did not treat Trevor Bauer any differently than any other player going through the DV protocol.

I do agree, however, that they did fail him and all players when they gave Manfred the right to arbitrarily decide any suspension length. They need to have a consistent suspension length if they are to retain this policy and or clear objective standards in terms of findings.

An arbitrator found MLB’s suspension to be absurd and nearly reduced it by half, from 324 games to 194 games. The MLBPA also needs to negotiate a reasonable window in terms of a hearing and arbitration appeal. Manfred and the Dodgers dragged this out an unreasonable amount of time.

He does have a second restraining order filed against him from his time in Cleveland that was only uncovered after the first one because the person in that incident didn't file charges.

I was told if you change the “X” within the URL string to “Twitter”, it will format correctly.  Sometimes when I grab the code I can see both of them in there

Yeah, it seems like the HTML code looks at X.com like an imposter.

If I was into kicking homeless people in the face, I would probably accept that offer. If the homeless person then went to the police and said that I ran up on him and punted him in the jaw even when he said don't do it and now im fired from my job and everyone thinks im an asshole, I would have an issue with that.

But why would you be into that? You’re really missing the point. I don’t want to associate with psychopaths who “consensually” get off on being depraved monsters. It’s sick and inhuman, I don’t care if it’s legal or not.

What about all those into auto eroticism, S&M, coming close to strangulation without any marks on the body?

Those are all sick and inhuman?

Who is to define norms in those literally grey areas according to pop culture novelists?

30-35% of the country still believes gay sex is sick and inhuman and a perversion, etc.

There's certainly more distancing from that area of sexuality in the typical big league clubhouse...and there are certainly numerous bullying and worse incidents to back that up, from Vizquel and the Blackhawks.

I dont get people who say he shouldnt be allowed to pitch in MLB even after this. So hes an asshole, yeah, but there are plenty of assholes in MLB. He might be pervy, so what, hes an adult and looks like his encounters with other adults were consensual afterall. Crede had sex with hundreds of women in 2005 alone and hes a hero. TA got laughed at for having an affair, but nothing more. There are countless of unfaithful womanizers in MLB that are celebrated, like Bartolo Colon.

I get that teams wouldn't want the PR hit, but this is a little tragic. His MLB career ended because he trusted the wrong booty call. And for her, i wish he did go through with the counter suit, because shes making it more difficult for those women who actually go through abuse. Just a terrible mess.

He’s got a long, storied history of pissing off almost literally everyone who’s ever worked with him, in myriad ways. If his career actually has ended, it’ll be because this was an easy reason for the entire community to finally say “good riddance.” That’s the difference between him and the others, where people are more willing to look the other way.

I don’t think he’s malignant on purpose; he probably can’t help being a jackass and doesn’t understand why he rubs everyone on earth the wrong way — if you dig around you can find stories of him bristling with teammates and coaches since he was a child — but, you know, that’s life. If you make everyone hate you, you come to find no one around to stand up for you when you need it.

I always thought something was mentally off about him. I remember reading stories from his college days about how he had no desire for friends or companionship.

You’re missing the point, what does his sexual preferences have to do with pitching in the MLB? Didn’t commit a crime, never charged with anything, pretty much zero evidence of wrong doing. You hate him though because he’s into something you don’t like.

I get it though, I don’t understand how anyone likes the show Friends. It’s terrible.

Bottom line in America companies are free to hire anyone they want, and with a few exceptions, can not hire anyone they want. After this became public besides MLB teams there are thousands of other companies that aren't offering him work. He couldn't get elected to office. He couldn't get work as a college coach. The reason he earned millions each year is he produced many times that in revenue for the owners. Now that he can't produce that revenue for the owners he's not worth the money. It's not about his ability to pitch, is about his ability to sell tickets.

Let this be a lesson for all the youngsters out there. Choking someone until they pass out is career suicide in most industries. Maybe he could try porn.

With the current environment, he might be overqualified and generally too cerebral for political office.

It’s not like the bar is very high.
