Well it's money already spent and budgeted. They just took on Sale's salary minus Moncada's and functionally it's like they just traded for Sale at 3 years 100 million (adding on what they invested in Moncada). Now the trade happens and they win it. That being said, I am disappointed we missed out on another piece or 2 just so Boston would pick up all the money owed to Moncada. Case in point, if you want this team to be successful for the foreseeable future, shut up and let Hahn do his job, and maybe open up the pocketbook for Free Agents sometimes.
