They should go with 14, and actually use the 27th man in DHs until Engel returns, when you have a fourth hitter who actually can contribute.

Its asinine to blow throw your bullpen to keep a completely worthless player on the roster.

Pretty sure 13 is the max you can carry.

EDIT: Guess that's not the case anymore

They had a max in 2020, it was rescinded in 2021. Teams have gone with 14 this year.

Garcia and Mendick also cover third, Lamb is worthless. At least Hamilton has attributes that can serve the team well.

The 2003 Twins would have scored there.

For a second, I was having flashbacks to a particular game the Sox went up huge, only to barely win the game. Meanwhile it ignited the Twins who rode that through a dominant season against the White Sox.

You ever just sit back and think how crazy it was that it took 100 years for someone to be like.... maybe getting on base is more important than not getting on base?

And it was so crazy, they made a movie and a book about that very idea for the most part.

Except it didnt in actuality. For example: https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/s/stanked01.shtml

Donaldson needs to be benched or better yet kicked out of the game.

Ha remember when he got kicked out for kicking dirt all over the plate after hitting a homer? And then his defensive replacement failed to make a play on Abreu that led to them losing the game? Good times.

If Tyler Duffey is good and will have better numbers in a month, the same is true for Heuer. His peripherals are much, much better.

Sure, but Duffey isn’t dependable right now either.  It’s easy to see why Heuer is struggling. High sinkers and hanging sliders is a far cry from his dominance last year.
