2 things we can all be annoyed by from this ... One of the guys referring to Manny "coming back to reality" and signing with the Yankees because the White Sox won't be winners for 3 or 4 more years. Secondly, the Meredith lady said that the White Sox are the only team that can promise Manny a position at SS, because she thinks Jean Segura is apparently a better defensive SS than Tim Anderson, or likely just has no idea who Tim Anderson even is.

I just can’t get worked up over the plight of unionized labor force with a $500,000 minimum wage and $4,000,000 median salary, not to mention free high end medical benefits. If they aren’t making enough, it’s their own damn fault. They have ALL the tools to take care of themselves and decades of precedent doing so. They screwed themselves over in the last CBA a bit for sure, but take a look at salary growth over the last thirty years, both gross and in terms of percentage of revenue. Their union has been one of the strongest in history. They enjoy benefits and protections that most other industries dream of, and get paid ten times more. In what other billion dollar industry does non-executive labor get anywhere CLOSE to the fraction of revenue that players get? If we want to be outraged about economic equality we need to stop crying about these athletes and turn out rage toward those who actually need it.

I'd rather pay Jay, whom can play all three OF positions, than pay Avi to play RF when he's occasionally healthy. With the Sox payroll as low as it is it's just silly to complain about spending 4M on Jay. That 4M has literally zero impact on the payroll this year.

They thought that Manny was signing with the White Sox because of a fake Jeff Passan account tweet from 3 hours ago. Not only did they not realize that the account lacked a blue check mark, but they wrote a whole article on the ordeal and still didn't notice, not to mention they failed to realize that if it were real, other people would've talked about it in the last 3 hours. Just puzzling all around

Rick Hahn could give a 3 hour speech, and sound interesting, make some great points, and when you walk away, you will realize he just gave you nothing. It's pretty impressive.

This was over a week before the signing, and before anyone even knew we were in on catchers/Castillo. He even nailed the terms. This is what he tweeted tonight. The only players getting screwed are the young guys, not the dudes making hundreds of millions. The MLBPA has been selling out young talent for decades so 30 year old guys could sign massive deals. Teams finally smartened up and stopped handing those deals out so now those deals are gone. Their next deal needs to have massive pay increases for young guys

Huh? He was basically a 3 fWAR player with the Sox and hit 40 homers his first year. Not that 3 fWAR is amazing but it's above average. And he had a 114 wRC+ with the Yankees versus a 105 with the Sox that year. Not that much different and definitely not "tearing it up" with the Yankees.

I do think it gets done but I can't stress enough that I'm not reporting it by any means. I don't know people that are close to this process. I know people that have very solid intel. Some of you also know those people. If I had to guess then yes I'm pretty confident that Manny Machado ends up on the White Sox. It's a guess though.

I just don’t get the logic and speculation that NY is out because they won’t come close to 325 but the Sox are supposedly a finalist with an offer of 200.

Manny will just be the first big move... many more will take place for us afterward. Get used to having no life for 8 more weeks.
