I've always been the low man on Eloy. To me, Eloy is Jorge Soler with a few more hits.6 points

Great post, you are spot on, they have won nothing, until you do just shut the blank up. They had since 2016 to build this team and they can't even replace a left fielder with someone who is major league capable . Their drafts have been garbage, teams like the angels and Dodgers have 39 and 33 rd round picks that make a huge difference, the whitesox they have no bench, and do think anyone in this garbage organization gives a shit, no only us stupid ads fans.4 points

I know this is crazy talk, but Reinsdorf and LaRussa have to get together and agree on a TLR retiring news conference and then go get Bochy before it is too late.4 points

Of course we don't. They really need to fire Hahn and blow this thing up ASAP though. Let some of the younger guys establish themselves or bust, and trade the good ones away. Hahn must be held accountable.4 points

Reinsdorf really screwed things up this year with the LaRussa hiring. The game has passed by him.4 points

TLR needs to go. Also these umps in MLB these days should be the first test humans on Mars. It's really getting old to see the young team with the most talent on the field lose and especially lose the game in the 7th and on with this bullpen. Just fuck everything at this point. But fuck reinsdorf the most and the hardest. Fuck you Jerry you piece of shit. Fuck you.4 points

What pissing me off about TLR is Collins got screwed on strike 3 and the old geezer stayed in the dugout like jerry Manuel and said nothing. Fuck that. Show your backing your team. Might light a spark4 points

This sucks man. So many hopes for this team all fucked by ownership and a drunk for a manager. Can't invest this much time on a shit product anymore4 points

Remember last week when Caulfield asked if someone would even take on his contract?4 points

Yup the fanboys go crazy for sure when a few guys are out of the lineup especially Vaughn fanboys. Do not play the bottom 2 positions players on the 26 LaRussa WTF are you doing you senile old drunken fool . Doesn't sound like panic at all.4 points

I think people are going to be disappointed when Eloy only hits .260-.275. I don't think he's always going to hit 45+ HR but I think 35+ is a safe bet. I think .265/.340/.900+ with 35-45 HRs is where he settles in. Still a very good offensive player but not an MVP candidate. Prime JD Martinez, he is not. That is what I think the fanbase expects from him. This is, of course if his power isn't affected by his injury.3 points

Another issue is that if they plan on giving Grandal a lot of breaks (which is a solid plan), having Collins as the back up is a HUGE downgrade from McCann offensively.3 points

I don’t think people realize just how terrible the Central division was last year in both leagues3 points

If your team's chances of being WS caliber are so tenuous that 1 injury leads to a spiral then you never really were WS caliber.3 points

Eloy Jimenez is an awesome player. He likely would have been the best hitter on the team this season, but he's not Mike Trout. And this isn't basketball. If Eloy's injury is enough to completely derail the season then this team wasn't going to be great anyways.3 points

Cubs’ fans at least had 3 straight NLCS, 2016, even 2018 and 2020 were. 5 postseasons in 6 years, depending on how you look at the 2018 debacle of an ending. We can’t even get past the Indians when they’re spending $80+ million less, lowest payroll in the majors by far.3 points

just put Yermin in the 3rd spot. He’s the only one who deserves it.3 points

Does anyone actually enjoy watching the Sox right now? They are so predictable: bad defense, overrated bullpen, & bad offensively specifically with RISP Two years ago this would be a fine rebuild game: decent start for Cease, solid day at the plate for Anderson + a SB, and Robert with another oppo base hit + a SB... but that shit's over yet nothing has changed I know TLR was going to make it more serious as opposed to "too much fun" like Renteria but the team looks as lifeless as he does3 points

People overreacting to 51 at-bats from our #8 hitter and our backup catcher. Never change Soxtalk.3 points

Too many automatic outs in this lineup. I’d rather see Leury in left field.3 points

It's almost like he is managing this group for the first season and trying to learn their strengths, weaknesses and comfort level.3 points

Bringing in a guy who should be on mop up duty in a 1 run game is brilliant.2 points

Bring in Jose Ruiz to face 2 awesome hitters in a high leverage spot and you don't deserve to get out of it.2 points

We were mentioning a few days ago how tedious and non-enjoyable it’s been this year. Tony really sucked the life out of this team.2 points

tone policing game threads as the club is about to get off to a 6-8 start won't endear yourself to the fellow diehards that post here, just a heads up.2 points

Yeah, and I think it'll stabilize on our side at least, but the bit about TLR refusing to shift is concerning.2 points

A lot of pitchers have been down in very cold temperatures this year. So, not really. It's also possible he's still feeling sick.2 points

What? Vaughn too raw? One of the most polished college hitters in recent memory? Vaughn will be fine, he just needs regular playing time. Engel is someone who’s good to have in short stints or coming off the bench, I don’t want him taking anywhere near 600 PA in a regular season. Give Vaughn, some time to get his feet wet and he’ll be fine. Eloy didn’t really set the world on fire, his first month/month and half of his rookie year.2 points
-
This pitching staff will keep us in the chase but hitting has obviously underperformed. I understand SSS but I see no reason to believe Moncada and Vaughn are going to turn it around anytime soon. On the flip side, I'm optimistic about Mercedes continuing to disrupt things and my expectations for Collins remain high.2 points

There’s vaccine hesitancy and then there’s anti-vaxxers who won’t take it period. For those who haven’t gotten it and are hesitant, they need to speak to their doctor and get off of the internet. They need to keep in mind the amount t of blood clots out of the total number of people vaccinated. And they need to realize that everyone has different side effects, it won’t be the same in each person. Some don’t experience things at all.2 points
