  1. So you say don't take baseball so seriously and cry about people making FUN and JOKING about how bad the White Sox are. The one taking this too seriously is you. The White Sox suck. That cannot be denied. Some of us can still have fun with it. You seem to be so concerned with Cubs fans having legitimate rips about the team.

  3. True Sox fans are sick of the “gatekeepers” who believe the team can do no wrong and blindly give their allegiance to a franchise that actively hates them.

  4. Haters hate teams with terrible owners and front offices that have no hope of winning and actually don’t even try to compete. The Sox went 61-101 last season and they are now on pace for a 31-131 record, and you are surprised there are critics of the Sox? Really? It is quite comical how your hate is so meatballishly misdirected at your so called “trolls, wise-guys, detractors and Cub fans” considering Jerry Reinsdorf is the single root cause of all of the Sox problems.

  8. He's going to get too close to the players like Benetti did and start taking criticism too personally. You have to be careful to maintain absence of distance and objectivity as a broadcaster. Also, the more time spent around the players...the more of an anti front office position you're naturally going to take, whether you realize it or not. But he's never going to be one of them without that MLB background...just like Benetti was always going to be an awkward outsider.

  9. I don't disagree with any of this, but how much of Kopech's issues are due to him just being an incredibly un-intelligent person? People always beat around the bush with his "personal issues" and "mental health" concerns. Let's just call a spade a spade here, the guy is just a mimbo, right?

  12. I have been a White Sox fan since I was 4 years old. Dick Allen "retired" from the White Sox on my birthday when I was a little kid, and it ruined the entire day for me. I had full season tickets around 20 years and partials about 8 or 9. The White Sox suck. I don't go to games anymore. They deserve all the crap they are getting. I don't mind John Schriffin. I even like his Stand Up deal. But he got in over his skis calling anyone out for criticizing or just laughing at this team.

  13. There is a difference between being a hater and calling a spade a spade. The White Sox are pitifully atrocious right now in all facets of the game. They deserve all the criticism and mockery they are getting right now, they are 6-25!!

  15. And why should they watch or care about these buffoons. The organization should get down on their knees and thank God ANY Sox fan still gives a tinkers cuss (ya' like that phraseology? LOL) about this disaster.

  16. The Sox have won five of their six wins by two or less, one in extra innings. Their Pythagorean W-L is 7-24. They aren’t losing a lot of tough games. They are at the bottom of both leagues in run differential. What is this post? Root for them if you want but don’t tell people - who suffered through a rebuild, expected to have a championship window and get one playoff appearance - not to air their complaints.

  17. 5 scoreless for Pallette, 7K and no (!!!) walks. Nice to see him getting settled in.

  18. He’s absolutely a headcase which is another organizational flaw. Not only does their training staff suck at physically keeping players on the field but it appears the team completely discounts mental health. Just look at the TA s%*# from last year. Does anyone really not think that was at least partially caused by his personal relationship drama? Does Eloy act like a professional athlete mentally? A competent sports psychologist could go a long way with this team.

  20. Wow, a Sox player didn't draw interest from anyone. It's like we're the worst team in baseball.

  21. The fact that a 28 year old pitcher is “adding” anything in his 4th major league season after appearing in almost 50 games in your minor league system…probably means that your MLB pitching coach and former Director of Player Development should both be fired. Just saying…

  24. Guessing they are counting this one as a "season" so we are 30 games in here, missing like 130, and we played I think 60 in 2020, so missing another 100 there.

  26. Given the political climate and the resentment of the average citizen over a number of things today, unless the Bears can somehow (along with the White Sox) bridge a very sizable divide, I simply can not see the public going along with this. Politicians are concerned about one thing only, their asses, they want to get reelected. If the public backlash is strong enough they simply will not agree to giving the teams basically a blank check.

  30. Congratulations for deciding to put more money into the pockets of the worst owner in professional sports. You know, the very reason the Sox are so terrible. You should be so proud of yourself right now. A true fan that is contributing to the Sox never improving, as long as Jerry makes his money.

  33. I have been a fan over 60 years. That doesn't change the fact that the team is bad, and that its owner only cares about a new stadium that someone else will pay for.

  35. I think what true White Sox fans are sick of is bad baseball and a bad organization. This isn't what we were promised. The good news or bad news depending on which side of the fence you stand , is very few heard Schriffin's diss. The team was already tuned out not a month into the season. Bad teams get made fun of. That's life. If Benetti were still with the White Sox and Schriffin go the Tigers job, don't you think he would be amazed at how bad the White Sox happen to be? 6-25. It's really unbelievable. What is it going to take for the White Sox to deliver on their promise? A couple billion for a new ballpark?

  38. I like the line, but it would be really great if the Sox, were good. Now it's like an epic bat fip after hitting a homer into the first row of the bleachers to trim the deficit to 9-2 with 2 out in the 9th. No need to call anyone out when you are this bad.

  41. Getz, not Hahn or Kenny, but Getz and only Getz had a horrible offseason and his frantic and ill-advised 40-man roster decisions in an attempt to fix things when those efforts are quite obviously futile have only made things worse. Anyone who doesn’t see this and can’t admit it must be blindly supporting Getz. Our GM is making decisions like a meth addict who ran out of his stash.

  44. He's also a top 20 prospect in all of MLB. I'm not panicking, but at the same time he's off to a bit of a slow start. If he's still hitting 210 in AAA this time next year we got a problem.

  45. Last year I was at Disney World and they told my wife and I we could go to the front of the line since we were the closest two person group. A guy that we walked by told his group to "let the guy in the Sox shirt by, he's suffering."

  46. Iriarte was cruising except for the 6th inning, his longest outing and some of the best control he's shown. Adler's AA debut was rough, seemed like he had some nerves. 1IP, 3H, 3R (2ER), 1BB, 0K. Two runs scored on a very wild pitch. Ramos picked him up with a HR to refortify the lead. He also had a double. Coffey's for closers sealed the 11-6 win. Well deserved first W for Iriarte.

  47. This guy is not a good play-by-play man. You're right. He is nothing but a JR spokesman. Him and Stone in the same booth is hard to take. I don't care about the Campfire Shake or whatever it is called. Jason had his issues, but he was way better than this. But then again, I'm just a hater.

  48. The Twins are now on the verge of sweeping the Sox for the second time in a week. Perhaps Schriffen should stay quiet and realize that he is defending a 6-24 team entirely too hard. He hasn’t even been here for a year and he’s already another one of JR’s puppets.

  49. I like this. Have some pride even if it's contrived. I like his South Side talk too, I get the impression that he thinks about a baseball team's civic identity, what it might mean to the local community, and I'd support efforts to market the Sox as a neighborhood team rather than as a national or international brand. It might have the effect of international marketing anyway, a South Side Chicago team is objectively cool and everybody should want to imitate it. We have a global identity. I went to China once and met a woman who was obsessed with Lil Durk and less notable Chicago rappers, the South Side exists even in the Eastern imagination. We don't need another documentary about the hat, we need local initiatives. We already had a shooterz night which is a step in a direction, but I'm probably not the guy to ask about marketing.
