I don't worry much about rushing guys. I think the ruining guys narrative is often overblown. Almost everyone struggles at some point in the bigs. He'll either adjust his way out or not. That said, he's also just not nearly ready or developed enough to succeed right now see will see how he adapts.

Korey Lee is sitting on a wRC+ of 122, which would be good enough for 7th among all 2024 catchers if he had a few more PA and was eligible. We might have stumbled into an above average major leaguer at a hard position to find them. Let's play him more.

This is shocking to me. I know Sosa was terrible, but what suggests Ramos, at this stage will be any better? I just read an article where scouts were saying the difference between MLB and AAA has never been bigger. This guy finally started getting it together in AA. If Sosa is that bad, DFA him, trade him for Cash Considerations or outright him, and put Remillard back on the 40. Why mess with Ramos. Let him progress.

Like you said, there were other options. Call up Sosa instead. Hell, bring back old man Moustakas to play 3B and cut Justin Anderson. The entire defense of Getz signing veteran bums this past offseason was to allow the minor leaguers time to earn their way to the MLB roster, you know, when they were actually ready. It feels like Getz was going to call up all of these young guys this season regardless of how they were performing in the minors at the time.

I'd hate to see what Pedro thinks compromising a major league game looks like.

The only reason to recall Montgomery is if his OPS is 900+. Right now, he’s not even an average AAA hitter…and he still needs to improve defensively. The last thing they want to do is have his struggles on that side of the game affect his trying to hold his own offensively…everyone around baseball thought Holliday was going to set the world on fire and he couldn’t even stick, as advanced as his game looked on paper.

The Sox should have let Sosa play 120 games this season in the mlb. He's taken time to figure out every level and maybe he just completely blows but why not let him show it over a very extended period

This might be the dumbest decision of the season so far. Yes, the bar isn’t very high…but wasn’t the entire point of this season to protect all the prospects at AA and below from being overexposed? It’s not like Ramos is going to sell more than a handful of tickets being up. Montgomery Quero Ramos and Zavala are supposed to be cornerstones for the next .500 Sox team. If they’re going to burn a prospect, let it be a much lesser one in Baldwin who has been hot for weeks and weeks to start the season.

I was ok punting this season as the beginning of the rebuild. Signing a locker room full of "has beens and never will bes" was fine to let the kids develop in the minors. We are a whole 6 weeks into the season and it's time to bring up the kids?!? Thank God we hired Getz....... it would have taken a whole year for an outsider to learn how f'ed up this organization is and realized he'd have to scrap the whole thing and reboot. Why can't we have nice things???

I am so glad Getz is such a wizard of a GM that he signed all these veterans in the offseason to give our prospects a whole month of seasoning in the minors. What a genius!!! So once again, why didn’t Getz just let Jose Rodriguez play in the majors instead of giving him away for cash to the Phillies (a team with a front office with a fucking clue) if he is willing to throw Ramos to the MLB wolves when he currently has MILB stats (.572 OPS) that are just as bad as Popeye’s? Somehow, some way, @WestEddy will find an excuse for this pathetic roster management by Chris “I’m in over my fucking head” Getz. Getz literally burned millions in a fire pit this offseason on awful veterans. Now he is doubling-down and calling up prospects that aren’t ready for the majors. When Schiffrin decided he was going to represent the “South Side” with his calls, and put all the “haters” on blast, that’s fine, but now that’s your brand and who he is. Two days later, he badly mis-pronounced the name of Bill Veeck on the broadcast. It wasn’t a flub, he read the name on the paper and thought it pronounced “Veek” If he didn’t make the haters comment, the Veeck mistake isn’t even mentioned. But when you want to puff out your chest and speak for the “South Side” then you better be genuine. Maybe brushing up on Sox history would be a good start.

While none of this is a "big deal" and will be forgotten quickly, I don't disagree with the premise of the article at all. The team is currently 6-25 and we know the history of this franchise and the laundry list of gripes we all have about Jerry. Calling anyone "haters" of this franchise is a stretch, for obvious reasons. But fine, whatever...it doesn't become a story if when both radio stations reached out to have Schriffen on the air to talk about the call, he goes on. But instead he decided to run away. That's a horseshit move. You want to puff your chest and respond to the "haters" but when asked to clarify...no thank you? He could have used it as an opportunity to defend the White Sox, or at the very least tell people who he was directing that at, there are a bunch of ways he could have made a potential interview a win for him and create a more personal connection with fans given he has only called about 30 games with the team...but instead he decided to run and hide.
