  1. As a personal favor to someone (me) who has zero beef with you, please find a different word. I work with people with various developmental disabilities, and hearing the “R” word being thrown around so flippantly as an insult is disrespectful to those extremely kind-hearted, hard-working, and loyal individuals who are just trying to make the best of a tough go of life. Thank you in advance.
  2. Time for a 21 game win streak baby! Get back to like 40 under!
  3. Also, how did our terrible scouts ever think Fletcher could be an everyday starter?
  4. Hopefully we never see Pedro again. I’m optimistic he’s fired tomorrow
  5. And David Kaplan, a host on a rival station, said he heard the same things from people in the clubhouse. Why would he do that if it wasn't true? White Sox PR and John "We are just catching teams at the wrong time" Schriffen are the truth tellers now.

We quite literally have the worst positional group in all of baseball by a country mile in 2024. To a man, everyone is underachieving their expectations and abilities. Until this gets fixed, all Brian Bannister is doing is generating our next trade bait.
  7. The Athletic had a story on Larry Sheets losing 21 in a row with the 1988 Orioles and now his son Gavin loses 21 in a row with the Sox. I hope the White Sox don't draft the grandson.
  8. We can’t even be the best at being awful.

Luis Robert is the perfect distillation of the laziness of the White Sox’s staff. Any other, professional organization with a guy coming up with his talent level, they would work with him on good habits like preparing for games and using information to be better. The White Sox firmly believe that this is too much work. This is where the lack of staff employed by the team matters. While he’s coming up, he isn’t coached, and when he’s healthy he has success based solely on his athletic gifts. When he gets to the big leagues, he doesn’t know the coaches names because he doesn’t want coaching and doesn’t believe in it. This has been said publicly, he doesn’t want scouting reports he just wants to do his thing, and no one in the White Sox organization was willing to correct it. Now, it has become a bad habit that he doesn’t think he needs to change, after all he’s an all star. They drop videos about how great of shape he’s in, but not about him working on recognizing pitches or studying film, because convincing him to do that and then teaching him effectively would take hard work, and the White Sox don’t do that. Then a few injuries start nagging more, he goes from 99th percentile skills to something less than that at least for a time, and his athleticism doesn’t carry him as much as he used to. Because they allowed him to get away with not wanting to learn anything, he has not become a smarter player like many guys do with experience, he’s still trying to swing as hard as he can, but it’s just less effective.
  10. This game was a pretty decent encapsulation of this entire season. Decent to good starting pitching. The offense scores all their runs in one inning and then goes back asleep. The bullpen blows a lead. Since the offense already scored any runs they were going to score, the game is over once this team falls behind later in the game.

Outside of Quero and Baldwin, this has been just a god awful year for offensive development in the majors and minors.
  12. I don’t necessarily disagree with you. I just think the whole beef these two have is really dumb and both are unlikeable and not worth the time.
  13. I think we can all agree that Riordan and Schriffen both suck and that taking sides in this fight is pointless.

Lou would do well with any other team.

Robert appears disinterested and often lethargic. He likely sees himself as being entrapped on a terrible roster. He had expectations of being on a championship team rather than playing on a hopeless dumpster fire. Of course, he misses the companionship and mentoring of Abreu, and interaction daily with Eloy, Moncada, and Grandal. But, it's difficult to feel sorry for a millionnaire.
  16. Yesterday, we were undefeated. Today, we are losers of 22 out of 23 games. Oh how the turns have tabled
  17. So it’s okay for an “adult” on the radio to say he’ll bone a radio host’s mom, as long as she is still alive? Riordan is a clown and there’s a reason he gets shredded in almost every Tweet he makes. His block list must be miles long.

And even many of those "safe" picks they are afraid to play.
  19. If we were prisoners of war the Geneva Convention would prohibit us from watching this s%*# show.
  20. I’m starting to belief that Grifol thinks that if your relief pitcher has a beard, he is good
  21. 2 points
This isn't even about the moves that could made this year. This is more about everyone in the positional group having one of the worst years of their careers all at the same time. This is about the most of the top positional prospects taking steps backwards, or not being ready for the majors. No one expected .500 this year, but this also should not be a 40 win team.
  22. Grifol is allergic to bringing in a reliever who can get an out at anytime. He can’t even luck into it.
  23. Please do not ask me to equate "popular" with credibility, quality, or anything else in 2024, other than popular.
  24. I don’t think those guys are clowns. They have the best sports talk show in the city. They have plenty of credibility. Come on, man. It’s the most popular sports station in the city. Also, Dan Proft sucks. I wouldn’t have said that and Shane didn’t know his mother was dead but I don’t feel any sympathy for Dan Proft. I know these guys a bit. Matt Spiegel and Shane Riordan don’t just make things up. They had corroboration from players. I’ll take their word over White Sox PR. Exactly this. They didn’t start anything. Spiegel was critical of John Schriffen’s job performance. John is totally fair game. It’s market 3 my friend. Then he reacted and said the haters and losers thing. Multiple outlets tried to have him on to explain who the haters were and he declined. The criticism continued because he’s bad at his job. I don’t think it’s smart to be sniping back and forth with guys who have a platform from 2-6 every day and nothing to discuss.
  25. Gavin Sheets now has his first hit in August.
  26. 28 ABs, 12 K's for Vargas so far in the Sox uni.
  27. "If I am not the worst LF in baseball, maybe I can get traded out of Chicago"
  28. I have no doubt that Sheets finishes the season the major league roster.
  29. I don't even know what tabloid radio station even means. Its a sports talk radio station. Its what they do. That report wasn't sensationalist or anything.... hell, Soxtalk spent much more time talking about Tim Anderson's affairs than I ever heard on 670. Is this a tabloid website?
  30. I believe the story, but it doesn’t make Riordan any less of a douche. ?
  31. The guy is the executive producer of probably the flagship show on the #1 sportsradio station in the third largest market in the country but people act like he has no sources or connections because he got into a spat with weirdo, Dan Proft. Meanwhile, people share tweets from "@SuperDawgHotDog492384248" as if they are an authority. I find it odd that everyone here is very ready to assume the worst about the White Sox but this is a bridge too far? That the manager we all hate and do not respect lost the clubhouse in the middle of a historic losing streak during the worst season of anyone's life? Lol why is this being debated? I don't get Soxtalk sometimes.

I hate that this is true.

It's more a lack of accountability than anything IMO. There's basically no deterrent for poor results.
  34. Drunk Ozzie's call in to the post game show.
  35. Can someone explain to me why Gavin Sheets is getting playing time before Fletcher?
  36. .... new streak starts today, folks!
  37. So now that he won, it would be the perfect time to fire him tomorrow. Can we please do that, imagine how glorious it would be.
  38. Pedro’s job is safe.
  39. Next double digit losing streak starts tomorrow.
  40. A broken clock is right two times a day... keep pounding Sox opponent's team totals.
  41. I said the 90's. Not which century. Tryin to help you out

Good summary. Thank you. P.S. Bergolla was the Tanner Banks trade, not the Fedde trade.
  43. This show is not making me rethink my position that Flus is not HC material
  44. I laughed when I read that.
