Sometimes “support” means tough love, which means not giving them a free pass by continuing to give them money. It’s like the f***-up rich kid who keeps getting bailed out by their rich parents. At some point, they’ve got to learn that your money comes with some set of expectations.

None of this will impact Jerry…that’s definitely true. But fans have every right to prioritize their limited entertainment dollars as they see fit. And right now, the Sox aren’t putting a product on the field that’s going to excite the fanbase. If fans want to voice their displeasure through their wallets then more power to them. I went to Sox Fest, I will go to four or five games, I will watch the team most days for the first couple months…but I ain’t committing to anything more than that until they give me good reason to. And I can assure you that I live & die for this wretched franchise and if anyone tries to tell me otherwise because my interest is currently at all time low then I will them to go F themselves.

I hate the Reinsdorf family

We all want the team to be good. Why? Because we are fans. Some of us just understand that certain things need to get worse before they can get better. Thats really all there is to it.

I am not an authority or arbiter of fandom, but, by definition, a sports fan is an ardent and enthusiastic supporter of a team. If you choose to withdraw your support, which some suggest they will do, you are by definition, not a fan of the team. Some have even suggested they are the opposite - that they hope for failure of the team and will not attend games. That nonsense only hurts current fans who support the team and young pitchers and players trying to motivate to win games for the WSox and us, the fan base. I don't know where the foolhardy notion that not spending a dime to support Jerry Reinsdorf came from, but it is selfish, stupid (and maybe worse if it includes personal hatred for the owner, as in, he is cheap). Just a few years ago many so-called current fans were all in on the team when the WSox added Grandal to what looked to be a strong line-up. Things didn't work out and some just bailed on the team. The historic losing season invited sarcastic trolls, cub fans, know-it-alls, and big mouths to claim that they only now have withdrawn support for the team. I understand what happened with multiple key (and some expensive) players disappointing us. I largely blame Ken Williams and Rick Hahn for putting together those teams, as did the ownership, which is why Hahn and KW were fired. IMO our new GM, Manager and all the young pitchers and players deserve a fvking break from fans and their fvking support, especially before the first game of Spring training begins. Whoever claimed that somehow hurting Reinsdorf will have any positive impact on the team now or in the future sold you on a stupid idea.

Let’s look at this a different way. Perhaps you are one of the reasons the Sox suck and never spend money. You support this garbage team and owner. You should be asking for more support for position players while you're at it. Other teams got Machado Wheeler and Harper. We got Grandal, who was pushed out of LA because Kershaw refused to pitch to him and a series of key defensive nlunders in the postseason got him demoted...Keuchel instead of Wheeler and all the premiere pitchers in that FA class, Lance Lynn and Kimbrel (complete disaster as a set up guy)...we didn't QO Rodon for reasons, but instead QO'ed Kimbrel which led to?a Misfit with Pol lock which led to an even bigger disaster giving Benintendi two more years than any other team in baseball was willing to coming off his one good year (thanks Yankees lineup) in the previous four. Then Kelly and Graveman...who all thought so highly of Hendriks that they didn't show up to his cancer recovery press conference with Liam's always encouraging wife. We should be undyingly grateful for these half measures and promises of parades and unprecedented financial flexibility that quickly dried up in 2022/23?????? WHY????? And then threatening for the second time to move the team to Nashville? Running the second lowest payroll in MLB in the third biggest market? Now being one of only two teams to never okay a $100+ million contract...and we will soon be the only one when Brent Rooker signs an extension with the A's...

The Cease trade looks bad now, but it's still way too early to give up on Thorpe and Zavala. Yeah, Thorpe maxes out at 92, but his MiLB stats are undeniable and his change up is legitimately one of the best individual pitches you'll ever see. If he can stay healthy, his floor is a number 4 innings eater that will flash brilliance. Zavala is 20 years old and has a beautiful, effortless swing and plus, plus plate discipline. Both of them have a legitimate shot at being contributors on good teams. Zavala isn't the type of high ceiling no floor prospect we've featured over the last 20 years. He's a very high floor, disciplined hitter with exceptional fundamentals. Give it a little time and try to have some faith. What's the worst that can happen?

They also get a 26M TPE. Knowing Bulls they won’t use it but I would think they could leverage it asap to help another te clear space and facilitate something and get some picks (even if it is buying 3 crappy for like the Suns did a week or two ago - stock up those picks cause you never know what happens and you at least can turn them into cheap depth). All of these experts are wrong again. They were wrong when they had us winning the central a couple seasons ago and they are wrong now. These prospects will not pan out. And even if they do sniff a MLB roster they will riddled with injuries and have such flawed approaches they won't win much. It's what we do and we're the best at it in all of sports. Until the organization starts over with a new owner and all new employees that s%*# just permeates everything.

Every organization has players rising and falling. It's no different with the Sox. Obviously in a rebuild you hope to acquire prospects who will rise but it's not always the case. Fail rates among all prospects are much higher than successes. Hiring the right people in the right position in the infrastructure will help facilitate advancement.Being an educator I'm sure you never tell your students to give up hope. You say put your nose to the grindstone . Most people educating you want you to succeed but it takes time and effort and you will fail along the way. You must always rise and face challenges .
