First of all, you who have been making these statements know who you are,and it's time to admit that you were wrong. Statement 1) This year's Sox are not any better or are not significantly/ noticeably better than last year's Sox. I don't think I need to even put for reasons for this; it is now clearly obvious. Statement 2) Getz should never have signed Slater and Tauchman. When they are on the field, they make the Sox team clearly better, both offensively and defensively. They both make good decisions and do the little things (put down a bunt/ take walks) that set good examples and help the team win. Plus for their value to the team, their price tags are cheap (this is obvious or the Sox would not have signed them). ** The part of the argument against signing them that almost makes me laugh out loud is the idea that baseball is a "young" man's game, and since they're over 30, they're too old, their skills have deserted them, and they're injury prone. This cracks me up because there are probably over 50 players in both the NFL and NBA over 30 doing just fine, and players in those sports put more physical stress on their bodies in 4 minutes of action than a MLB player will in a three game series. **** Since we won last night, let's keep trying to win, and that means put the best players on the field for the entire series. I want to see Tauchman and Slater in the lineup both today and Sunday. Of course get Teel in there and the others, but I don't want to see Capra or Palacious unless it a situational thing. We want to win; play our best players. They get Monday off and can rest then; let's do everything we can to win this series, maybe sweep.7 points

No reason to trade Martin when he's got a lot of control left. He's just hitting his stride as a pitcher.4 points

Really enjoying the Sox winning, especially them NOT beating themselves. Worried about Don Luis, though. Wish he could string together a few good games. Has anybody mentioned that Meidroth looks stoned alla time? Chill South Cali boy.3 points

Such a dumb thread, you realize this team is the second worst team in baseball and pacing out for like 55 wins right? “At least they’re marginally better than the worst team in baseball history” is as low of a bar you can get. These turds always come out after they win a couple games before they inevitably look totally inept again.3 points

Everyone seems to love the lineup, that means the Sox will have less than 5 hits today.3 points

They still aren't. Signing meaningless old players who block the kids for a few more wins in 2025 doesn't do this franchise any good in the long run. This is all about development. Everything else is slight of hand.3 points

Can we also add the “Meidroth is Madrigal” comps as well?3 points

That clueless guy brought in a pitching coach and a hitting coach who seem to have a clue on how to help pitchers and hitters. He also has 3 guys in the lineup he traded for with Meidroth , Teel and Vargas. He also has a pitcher who could be the Sox All Star game representation who he took with the 1st pick in the Rule 5 draft and traded for another Rule 5 guy who is their best relief pitcher so far and eats up valuable innings which helps immensely. Smith and Vasil have been very valuable in their roles. They became instant major league pitchers who we couldn't even worry about how they were doing in the minors. How often does that happen ? Before the Rule 5 draft a lot Soxtalk posters took their shot at who the Sox should pick up in the Rule 5. I don't think a single one suggested Shane Smith or Mike Vasil. He also got Vasil from Tampa Bay who we usually talk about having such good people that us fans are always saying don't trade with them. They'll fleece us. It's easy for fans to throw around names like Canario and Workman and make fun of the no names that the Sox churn through between AAA and the majors like Capra, Amaya ,Palacios, Cusick, Jones, Maton , Murfee, McKendry, Gomez, Altavilla, Castro, Ellard, Gilbert, Max Roberts, Jake Curtis, Tommy Sheehan etc. But that's the process you go through in a rebuild to come up with a guy like Adrian Houser who actually helps. Sure, chances are you can mention it's a shame Gage Workman didn't work out . But It's not like he's become a MLB All Star. You either show something quick since he was another Rule 5 or you're gone. He wet the bed .Oh well. There are some people here who talk about these minor things endlessly but barely acknowledge Smith, Vasil or Houser or need a good 6 months from Vargas to be convinced he's turned it around yet will cry about Workman because after he left he's had an . 825 OPS in 16 games in the minors. Hell if we didn't see Amaya hit in the major with our own eyes and he was a guy like Workman someone would be crying about his 1.300 OPS and .500 BA in 25 minor league AB as proof that our GM can't judge talent. There's not a lot to be happy about but there's also a lot of molehills being turned into big talking points that actually mean very little.3 points

Yep. 45% support the Nazis and what they stood for. You are nuts. It's more like 5% of America really hates some other race. The media and politicians would like you to believe it's more than 50%. It's how they keep power. Chances are its antifa or some white supremacist group. Which is like less than 1% of the country2 points

Apparently, Forbes doesn't. The Braves' 10-K doesn't remotely tie to Forbes. And I'm going to take the 10-K more seriously than some undocumented calculation from Forbes. https://www.bravesholdings.com/investors/financial-information/sec-filings/content/0001558370-25-002009/0001558370-25-002009.pdf2 points

While I am in favor of Colson getting more minor league at bats now and for at least another month or so , the C. Montgomery the Sox envision is needed very badly . They need power and another guy who knows how to take a walk while providing adequate defense be it at 3rd or SS. The Sox would be fine with the ideal version of Colson at SS and Meidroth at 2nd for a long term solution. While I have stuck up for Sosa this year he does not fit the ideal vision of high OBP the Sox have . But there is no hurry to get Colson in the lineup right now since he keeps getting hit by pitches and missing games. He still has to show that the things he and Fuller accomplished in his Arizona hiatus will stick.2 points
