  1. The first and last pitch thrown by the White Sox in this series were both 97mph Grant Taylor fastballs.

  2. Okay, man. Well sorry they won today. It obviously made you cranky. Hope you can get through it.

  3. The culture of losing has to end, screw tanking and learn how to win.

  5. I don’t even know what this means in regards to wanting your “favorite” team to lose every game.

  6. Why? You are getting a new owner soon enough. You want the young players to not see any sort of success? That’s weird.

  8. Fedde+Kopech got them a player that the Dodgers gave up on, and Fedde had another year remaining on his deal Doubt Houser gets you anything worth mentioning

  9. Maybe if Getz trusts his pro scouting, they can assess whether a guy like Jordan Walker is fixable and target that type of hitter. Like they did with Vargas. Former top prospect, didn't cut it in a couple pro shots, maybe needs some TLC.

  10. Yeah I was out and about yesterday and had too many Brooklyn breweries amber lagers....

  11. That was nice. Taylor looks like he’ll be an absolute beast in the pen (and hopefully in rotation next season). Leasure’s way too wild, but he doesn’t throw many puppies either. Teel made a nice play covering for a bad Rojas throw. Capra can play some D, so I see why he’s here (for now). Vargas’ 9th inning DP was smooth. Aside from being the best player on the team, Vargas looks like a leader out there.

  12. Did not expect to take 2 of 3 from Toronto on the road after losing 8 in a row. Nice rebound.

  17. I'm not gonna blame the coaches or Houser for 6.1 IP 2 R, especially since he had to walk a tightrope all game against a tough offense with no run support. Bassitt is tough (SO GLAD the Sox traded him for nothing!), but it's not like he was unhittable today.

  18. Watching Noda on a team that’s gonna lose 110 regardless is pretty hard and very pointless.

  19. And the odd thing is that he was a real non-reach. McDaniel of ESPN had him ranked #6. I'm sill hoping he can hit, though. For me it was Fulmer. terrible delivery, which everyone acknowledged. Never showed anything.

  22. Yours truly is Little Nell and thanks for remembering me and the nice words, I still post there occasionally because there are people like Big Klu, 34 Rancher, Berwyn, thomas35, NoNeck and a few others that I still like interacting with. That guy doublem23 drove me crazy, extremely argumentative. Fenway was a fun guy but I never figured out why he was on WSI as he loved the Red Sox but he should have never been banned. Voodoo is no longer an administrator but does a good job with his minor league report, I think dumpjerry is the only administrator now and he’s fine, can’t remember the last time someone was banned, some posts have been roadhoused. Nellie Fox was from Minnesota but a native Chicagoan and a fellow Vietnam Vet and has had health issues, hasn’t posted for a couple of years.

  23. Yeah, I was shocked how bad Gonzalez looked when I first saw him in Kanny. Has never been more than a borderline prospect from the minute he was drafted. But he went 1-15. Madrigal was 1-4. Gonzalez is a tool shed compared to Madrigal. He can at least play adequate ss, and might be a decent utility player. I took heat on this board for unfavorably comparing Madrigal to Nicky Lopez. Turns out, he wishes he was Little Nicky.

  24. Fun interview, but nothing that we didn’t know already. The simple reality is guys got super lazy under La Russa and that got even worse with Grifol since no one took him seriously. Hahn didn’t really help matters either with all the early extensions (in hindsight) and then bringing in a bunch of assholes and red asses to stir things up. Tim Anderson going insane was the final nail in the coffin.

  25. How long did that last before they went to wsns44 WTF, when was this, and what exactly happened are you talking about piracy Huge punch to the gut, I was watching almost every game, now nothing. F them, now I'll laugh if we lose 121 again. Yup, this is huge. Every cub game was on throughout my childhood, summer and baseball were intertwined like pbnj. The 66 free games we got this year brought me back to that atmosphere, where every game was on in the background, at least. Thats what hurts the most about the rug pull, I was getting used to the routine of anticipating, then turning on the game. Just like Danley, bud light, cheers/golden girls promos, old style, feldco etc commercials were all a part of that summer vibe growing up, now windcreek, 4 seasons, culvers, yingling, xrt, b96, liberty insurance commercials were becoming embedded into the background audio daily, and it felt good to hear familiar sounds every day. But Jerry said "F them poor people", so now the Palehose are only for no life losers who are sad enough to cough up 120 a month for the dreck that is cable TV. If I meet anyone who pays for cable, I immediately lose respect for that person. Imagine paying for "ridiculousness", reality shows, steve harvey reruns, pawn stars, etc. F that, the Sox aren't getting a dime from me. Let them lose, let the flubs sweep all 6 games for the 1st time ever. I'm completely checked out now because of the rug pull. Jerry had the chance to be truly bold, and at least give us a full season. But nope, Comcast took his lunch, and made him fold faster than Springfield to Lyle Langley. He's just a pathetic individual. May the sox and bulls suck in perpetuity. Whereas asking a GenXer that was like asking us if we breathed air. Mtv was the one thing that united us all. From the jocks to the nerds, to the stoners, goths, skaters, weirdos, wastoids, greaseheads... everyone watched mtv. You didn't ask anyone if you watched the channel, you asked who their fav VJ was, or Remote Control episode. Mtv and cable in general are crap now. I want my CHSN. If they were honest with us from the start, and said it was free only as a bargaining chip, then it'd be fine. But they lied to us and said it'd be always free, and the reason was because they cared about the fans. Stone cold lies, deceptive practices. Grounds for a class action lawsuit tbh. Does DumpJerry post here, maybe he can sue them.

  26. Yup. That's a pretty damn good 3rd piece in a trade. Would like to see him figure out how to hit more for power though, like Kwan did. Even if he doesn't, getting on base and generally being a pain in the ass at the bottom of the lineup is a good thing to have.

  31. I understand the concept of needing a body on the pitching side. You need guys to eat innings. But finding yourself in a position where you “need a body” at first fucking base is so pathetic.

  35. He's probably the most sensitive poster here. He can't handle the smoke, so he'll probably block you. I've wrecked him multiple times in debates so he blocked me (can't handle the smoke). He moved from team Hahn to team Getz. He's a Chris Getz superfan. You'd think we have Andrew Friedman by the way he talks about it.

  38. Why, there were some cool peeps there. There was a FL retiree there, NellieFox or Little Nell, who was a great poster, very informative and all around good guy. Frater Pertabo was good too, as was Fenway, the cameraman from Boston who was sadly banned despite being the most active poster there. I felt bad for the guy, he made pretty good posts often, and I think hung out with us more than his fellow Carmines. Granted, there were some insane trolls there like doublem23, and this one teenager who was a Tottenham fan. They were terrible, but not enough to sully the board IMO. My fav moment there was in The Parking Lot, where we got into a good WW2 discussion out of nowhere in an unrelated thread. The good posters made it worthwhile. and of course, among the goats there was Mark "the Encyclopedia" Liptak, who thankfully is here too. Good to see ya here, I've also seen some of your Youtube vids. Guys like him make message boards a fun place to be.

  41. The problem is that they are all in on it — the CPS teacher with rolls that shot herself with her own carry piece and was quickly escorted out of the park (that also doesn’t live in Chicago, yet is teaching at a CPS; ain’t gonna lose that pension), the CPD by order of the mayor due to the female teacher being friends with the mayor, and Jerry Reinsdorf. The magic bullet theory is absolutely ridiculous. Regardless, the truth will never come out for obvious reasons. My buddy has a friend in the CPD that told him this right after it happened.

  42. It was an honest question. the complete 180 on Hahn and Haber from @Harold's Leg Lift is fascinating. He used to be a big fan! Does asking this question violate rules on the board?

  45. The Bears ownership don't get along with JR. This goes back to the mid 1980s when JR tried to buy a percentage of the Bears. From what I know the Bears have $2 billion to pay towards a new dome stadium in Arlington Heights. They are $3 billion short. Their new stadium is projected to cost $5 billion dollars. I don't know whats going to happen in terms of new stadiums for the Bears and White Sox. It looks to me a new White Sox stadium depends on how much money Ishbia wants to spend.

  46. Not trying to tell you anything. Just love to see the assistant scouting director coming and passing off insights from the sox org to the rest of us. @Y2Jimmy0 would be cool to do a feature on the scouting department. Its pretty awesome they let scouts hang with us!
