  1. Always thought the narrative on him was that you usually don't see SS of that level make it to college, and that he's one of the safest high level prospects in recent years and also has significant upside.
  2. So Boyer was apparently back in Japan around the 22nd. Per translated reports, he spoke with Japanese media about Mune's great start and making the White Sox an attraction for Japanese visitors. Sounds like the Cubs will be involved too as a part of a broader effort to compete with the coasts for tourist attention. There was also confirmation of a Mune bobblehead day (which went around Sox Twitter a little bit ago but don't think it was posted here) currently planned for July 25th when the Sox host the Astros. There will also be a WBC bobblehead variant on July 12th vs. the A's (last game before the ASB/HR Derby). May 12th vs. KC will be a Japan theme day with a T-shirt giveaway. When asked about a possible extension, Boyer voiced his wish for Mune to be a Sox as long as possible and mentioned that involving him being sold on the team and city. Talked about his synergy with the rest of the young core. Of course, he also noted that he's the marketing guy and roster decisions are ultimately up to the GM.
  3. Why are people spending so much time on a randos imaginary stadium rendering? It'd be different if there even a real idea to go off of, but as of today, there is nothing real to go off of.
  4. Whoever the scout was that recommended Colson in the draft needs a raise. He's been one of the best players in MLB since the day he came up. If he played in any other market the hype would be non stop. God, imagine him with the fucking Cubs.
  5. All I know is that I'm Roch hard
  6. I will continue to hold the 3 straight 100 loss seasons against him instead. Or I will keep mocking Ron for his trolling threads. Come on man.
  7. How is a pitcher with an arm injury a uniquely White Sox thing?
  8. WestEddy is owed an apology by many people here as well. You gave a lofty win total as your prediction, and it seems you may be close. People slammed Getz for his moves, but you rightfully defended him for how he did given payroll constraints. When you look at the win-to-payroll ratio of this team, he's done a great job.

Unfortunately the White Sox have significantly lowered my standards. League average position players seem like a novel concept.

He's now in the top 10 of most offensive categories in the IL and most of the guys in front of him have super inflated BABIP. It's hard to take anyone's Charlotte numbers seriously but it's also hard to believe he couldn't be a WRC+ 100 big leaguer if he keeps this up for a few months.
  11. Chuck talks to NBP reporter Yuri Karasawa about Mune and how his MLB success is being viewed in Japan. Some notes: There has been a visible uptick in Sox merch/fandom in Japan. Mune highlights get shown on the evening news. Karasawa says Mune looks noticeably happy/like a good fit here. Mentioned him looking down at times in NBP and Imai's struggles in Houston as contrasts to Mune smiling and fitting in quickly here. Mune always played with a more "MLB" style and has stuck with the same approach. He had reverse splits in Japan in the last 3 years, so maybe something left to unlock against LHP. Mune and Takatsu have a "special connection." Their "eras" with the Swallows are seen as overlapping, and Mune would have Takatsu join him during media/talk show appearances. Garfien says he'll be shocked if there's a trade this season.
  12. Way ahead of you. He'll be sharing a cell with CORRUPT LOSER James Comey!
  13. I would prefer Kelenic starts over Hill or Peters. It would be ...a choice... to start Hays, Peters and Hill, and to bench Kelenic. If old Jarred can really hit, again, they need his bat in the lineup.
  14. https://tips.fbi.gov/home (I'm kidding bro)
  15. Keeping in mind the guy who was in charge of their minor league development, was in charge of their disposal from the Sox.
  16. How much more vindication can one man get? Hats off to you, Mr. Getz.
  17. That first rebuild was cursed.
  18. Sox Machine with a long piece on him and Nightengale's comments: 2026 MLB Draft Report: Are the White Sox not sold on Roch...2026 MLB Draft is still a couple of months away but would the Chicago White Sox pivot from selecting Roch Cholowsky first overall? Sox Machine's Josh Nelson explores the possibilities.
  19. I think he's seen as the top since Skenes/Crews, which is definitely a good spot for the Sox to be. Calling him just a solid prospect (going off overall prospect grades from Pipeline and FanGraphs) feels like an undersell. He's a 65 overall at Pipeline and 55 at FanGraphs. That makes him Pipeline's #3 prospect and in FG's Top 30 (only draftee).
  20. Dang, that sucks for Robert. Was really hoping he’d have a healthy and productive season on a winning team.
  21. For the first time in quite a few seasons, pretty much the entire team is likeable. And they all seem to like each other. This still isn't a competing team, but they are a much more enjoyable team to watch.
  22. Have the standards fallen so far that this thread wasn't held for the first WC or AL Central title under Getz? Or sweeping the Yankees? We just swept the 14th or 15th team in the AL...isn't that to be expected after 2 1/2 years when it was posited by JR that even one year was just too much time to waste? And one sure result of being relatively close to first place means that Getz will be pilloried for trading Mune for less than his perceived value....
  23. It's time for those who went after Getz ruthlessly to apologize. He's done a great job with having little payroll to work with. I don't think ANYBODY thought we'd be 14-17 now. Please sign and submit the apology form accordingly.
  24. Wouldn't a retractable roof limit some of the best views, which seem to be one of the biggest selling points? Skyline view, potential Chicago River home runs. Traditional parks are way more visually appealing. I get it though. Retractable roof would be great.
  25. There’s truly nothing more enjoyable than a @ron883 thread. Dude is playing 4D chess with multiple troll jobs all in one thread. I even see @sin city sox fan lurking, likely impressed by @ron883’s master trolling skills. I am toasting my next Silver Bullet to both of you guys. 🍺 🍻
  26. God bless those patriots. They truly love America.
  27. I'm not going to start a new thread for this, but this is kind of interesting. Tristan Peters is worming his way into being a viable, temporary platoon option.
  28. Long live Ricketts family members!!!
  29. Funny how hit or miss he can be. I remember that Getz tried to get Jordan Walker from the Cardinals for Fedde but they turned him down. But the same GM takes back awful Acuna for Robert. Imagine Walker in RF and Pereira in CF right now.
  30. "Getz got rotten lemons, and he crafted a lemonade-cider invention that is going to redefine the industry." How so? Shouldn't multiple mlb teams now be offering to poach him from the Sox with almost three years of unassailable track record?
  31. One has to go over the top to offset your under the belt grumblings.
  32. Never wonder why I mock your over the top defenses of Getz.
  33. 2 - if he actually "believed the hype", he wasn't wrong. They're within 2 games of 1st place on May 1. A 6-WAR CF sure would help this team. Too bad Robert didn't hold up his end, plummeted his own value, and Getz had to get what he could. Getz got rotten lemons, and he crafted a lemonade-cider invention that is going to redefine the industry. It's actually quite the accomplishment, turning JR into a sooth-sayer, and getting what he could for a failed Robert. Certainly worthy of the FIFA Peace Prize.
  34. Seemed more like injury issues than development issues with those 4.
  35. On pace for. Hopefully you are smart enough to understand the difference.
  36. He would have really been vindicated if he had dumped him for the biggest offer out there the winter after he got the job and probably had 2 to 3 quality starting players from that deal on the ML roster today.
  37. Knee and arm issues, and is kind of an odd guy. The other injury risk the Sox acrually maxed the value was Crochet. He was always hurt, then miraculously was great as a starter for about half a season, while just getting through the second half. Got a haul for him, had a great year, but now hurrt again, and probably not the same moving forward, but he got $170 million.
  38. His heart never seemed all the way into after the injuries, maybe he's just enjoying life peacefully. Hopefully.
  39. And to think people wanted to keep him. This is what Robert is. The guy just simply cannot stay healthy.
  40. I haven't heard any generational talk. Phrase is overused anyway, but he's a solid prospect. Lacks elite tools.
  41. 1 point
He needs to get is K% down a bit
  42. Well, we were just right behind the Angels for 14th in AL playoff odds…entering the series. 73-89 pace now Still below Fegan’s 79 prediction. WestEddy was somewhere around 77-78, right? https://www.fangraphs.com/standings/playoff-odds/fg/lg 71-91 Angels 2.8% wc 70-92 White Sox 2.2% wc Nationals and Rockies both in the 60s. Yankees Dodgers Braves only teams projected in 90s.

Would much prefer now then in 2 months when he is on the White Sox roster.
  44. Now what did I do with my shocked face.
