  1. We'll see what happens. You said you wished they could open up a divisional lead, without solid consistent pitching that's going to be hard to do. Unless Getz can get some help it figures to go down to the wire. By the way, speaking of down to the wire, the Sox close the year with three at home vs. Colorado.
  2. Here's my final attempt at a 5 round White Sox mock for FutureSox: https://www.futuresox.net/2026/07/07/chicago-white-sox-2026-5-round-mock-d-2/
  3. I can handle it as I was forged in the crucible called "watching Hagen Smith pitch"
  4. He's played in every game since he's been up and started all but 1 IIRC, so one imagines it's just an extra day off.
  5. I respect how you take a different approach than the herd. It really adds to the discussion. I am very hit tool forward, so of those listed I like Bell. Lackey has a huge upside, but his performance against velocity scares me. I think Burress has a real shot to be Wyatt Langford-lite, but as a short R/R dead pull hitting potential corner with considerable bust potential, I think he's rich for 1/1. I wish I liked Flora more. His K numbers in a mid-major conference are honestly confusing to me. I am not a Reese fan cuz of defensive questions. But I agree, they could all be solid pros.

  7. Dude was throwing 1.5 mph slower than webb and his best pitch was a change up. It would be the slowest fastball among qualified pitchers this year by .4 MPH. Traded twice too despite great results. Everyone they got in that trade was trending down. People used to claim cease didn't have value then he signed a massive deal lol.

Yes. 3 relief outings this week and then I think he could be in big league bullpen. Reliever for rest of season.
  9. Come on West, we don't have to act like every move the team makes is a stroke of genius.
  10. There is absolutely zero reason to try and go in on the 2026 season at the expense of the farm. Just let this season be a development one, even if our division is pure ass. I just don't want to see the front office overspend on a dream that just isn't ready yet.
  11. By the way, how much run do we need to give Junior Perez? I know he's run into a couple but I'm just not sure I see the point given his track record.
  12. Schultz is hard to watch. His innings are all looooong!
  13. I’m shocked at how flat his stuff looks in the majors
  14. I remember in 05 a bunch of soxtalk members browsed thier messageboard sons of Sam horn and those guys were absolutely sure they were gonna beat the white sox asses by an average of 30 runs
  15. All I ask is for you guys to use Japan Standard Time for the thread when Mune comes back haha
  16. Scary ? Nothing about it is scary. Are you expecting to get to the World Series this year ? You barely acknowledged they might be better than sucky this year. Now you're afraid of using rookie pitchers who need to show they can compete and stay on the mound ? Hate to break it to you but there's are going to be a few more after him.
  17. Going to be livid if we draft Emerson. While I have concerns with Cholowsky, at least he has a track record of facing advanced competition. Same with Lackey. Drafting a prep player 1-1 who doesn't look like a high school version of Shohei is just far too speculative for my taste. 1-1 should be reserved for a player you know, with 80%+ confidence, can get to the bigs relatively quickly and become a constant in the lineup/rotation. Lackey Cholo (wood bat struggles concern me) Emerson
  18. CST = Chicago Sox Time, used to differentiate from Boston Sox Time.
  19. I think, if you like him, the carrying tool is his hit tool. Obviously, that's a tough one to project, so if you don't like him, you focus on everything else which is closer to 50s across the card. So, as with all preps, there's some risk here. At PG National last year, he was the consensus top guy in the class. No one else really close, but on pure tools outside of Hit, Lombard has him beat. Elijah Green had a lot of tools too, though. Hit is an absolutely critical tool.
  20. My favorite thing to do in Detroit is to leave.
  21. Sammy seems to always have an approach at the plate, whether the team is scuffling or not. I wish some of our other hitters could say that.
  22. Seems obvious to me that Gonzalez goes back to Charlotte
  23. @joejoesox what are we turning on right now? X-Files?
  24. Yup. Pitching development has been straight cheeks. If you aren't questioning Bannister at this point you should be.
  25. Bring back Sandlin. This dude ain't ready.
  26. Roch woulda made that play
  27. will justine be at the meet n greet?
  28. Romy having a horrific AB as you make that proclamation lol
  29. Bored out of my absolute mind at work. Feels like we haven't played in a week. Another 100 minutes.
  30. We also didn't think they'd be in first place on July 7th yet here we are 😂
  31. And they're facing three straight LHSP, so it wouldn't surprise me to see each of Ant/Peters/Braden get an off day this series just to sort of split them up. Tough time to be missing Pereira, hopefully Grichuk can do his thing and Perez can show something.
  32. He’s also not good vs LHP
  33. You'll be interested in my five round mock draft that comes out tomorrow.
  34. I think that's probably true. With Colsons back acting up which can really affect performance at SS as we have seen recently they may need a legit SS who also has a solid bat in a year or two. I think all this stuff people have been hearing about Emerson is smoke designed to save some money on Roch. This is also a very risk averse organization under JR and I feel that almost certainly would want to go with a higher floor decent to good cost controlled major leaguer that they can plug and play in a year or two. I'm sure Getz is also acutely aware that when JR leaves the scene m, if he blew a 1-1on a high risk high reward HS player that might not be a great look when Ishbia evaluates whether to keep him. I dont mind either Emerson or Roch but I'd be surprised if the Sox roll the dice when they don't usually operate that way.
  35. Let's kick some fucking ass this week! Finish the first half strong boys! Let's go!
  36. Why couldn’t that have started when the Sox were in the Bronx!?
  37. The rage-baiting is masterful.
  38. Its not CST. Why do you keep doing that
  39. 2 points
I think he is starting against Oakland it all goes well.
  40. Well, I get that, but I highly doubt a catcher would ever beat out two top tier SS options for athleticism. There's a reason good organizations focus on SS profiles - they can literally be moved anywhere. Drafting a C to simply move him to the OF feels like poor scouting or drafting for need. If you take Lackey at 1.1 he better damn well stay at C or his value plummets IMO because you're banking on the bat to carry him. I'd rather take a chance on Emerson's potential if they aren't taking Roch.
  41. The top 3 are crazy good. Can't go wrong with Roch, Vahn or Emerson. Teel might end up future LFer, Atonacci 2nd base and Lackey catching. Or Roch plays 2nd base. Or you wait 3 or 4 years for Emerson or Carlson and see how Colson's back is feeling by then and what happens with Mune.
