  1. I would say that’s true for anyone posting on a baseball message board at 8:25 on a Monday
  2. Like moths to a flame the Panicans are now joining the game thread.
  3. The hell with a split. Make a statement and sweep these shithead Yankees.
  4. Is he pitching against the Yankees this week? Does making this statement bold and huge make it more meaningful than...not meaningful at all?
  5. This Yankees lineup stinks. Sox have played bad baseball tonight
  6. We were winning, he only shows up when we are losing
  7. That might be the best Schultz has looked since his IL stint.
  8. Making them burn another arm has value either way
  9. Starter needs to go more than 3.1 innings.
  10. It could have been so bad that he would have given up 4 runs or something.
  11. Some of the posters here just reek of middle aged men who have accomplished nothing with their life.
  12. Preller trades don't count
  13. This doesn't mean "don't be afraid to trade prospects because they don't pan out". This means "teams don't trade their good prospects".
  14. Will we see another Strokin Sox offensive explosion ( Mune Style )? Will Noah Schultz shock the world and shove? Tune in on your bat phone, transistor radio, tube television, or from your seat in the park! LETS FUCKING GO WHITE SOX!!! WIN DIS DING!!!
  15. I agree - If this were last year, I’d be fine with it, but with the pressure of the race I think it is too much to ask. I’m still very bullish on Schultz but they clearly have botched their approach to him this year. What I am hoping is he is closer than we think. Last two starts before tonight stuff was weak but command better…today for 3 innings crisp…4th inning came apart again. Big guys can get out of whack quick, especially early in their careers but I’m hoping he’s due for a break through but I think you got to let it happen in more controlled situations right now.
  16. For real, us being in this game with this lopsided of a pitching matchup is actually better than I expected. It just sucks because we've been out hitting them this game and just haven't executed well.
  17. Richards has been surprisingly valuable. Rubber arm and usually quality innings.
  18. How about hustle double and seeing eye single
  19. Orioles 8 Tigers 5 Final. (For those of us middle age men scoreboard watching)
  20. I'm a White Sox fan. I would have been curious to see the side-arming lefty throw to Jazz Chisholm before we decided to ask the bullpen to cover 6 innings, starting with a guy who was clearly not up to the task.
  21. This Yankees lineup is so bad too. Still have no idea why Acuna was playing so deep in the hole.
  22. If that’s what Braden swings at 3-0 maybe take his green light away for a bit.
  23. I don't think many cost controlled guys get moved. I think most of the White Sox acquisitions will be rentals.
  24. Reid Detmers is the best pitcher that seems to be available and realistic. He’s not an ace, but he’s certainly been a top 10-15 pitcher this season (Forget the overrated like Alcantra or Webb). It’s his first really good year; maybe working with renown pitching coach Mike Maddux has made a difference. I also don’t like the idea of doing business with Mozeliak. But there is still no way I’m trading Bonemer, Carlson or Fauske. I’m also hesitant in trading Wolkow, Davis or B. Smith. We didn’t get a prospect ranked as high as Bonemer or Carlson for Crochet. Who I want to trade are Thorpe and Bergolla. Sandlin or Adams or H. Smith. And then a 10-15 guy?
  25. Will is playing the numbers batting Grich leadoff. He’s something like .360 career average against Fried in something nearing 30 at bats, if I recall correctly. I was looking at matchups last night and Grichuk’s numbers stuck out like they were in neon flashing lights. Edit: It’s a .313 average in 16 ABs.
  26. OK, Venable starting a few extra RH hitters, but hate not starting Antonacci.
  27. It feels like they made changes recently in an effort to improve command - it has come at a cost of "stuff" - but I also wonder if they view it as they can re-unlock that easier, so from a development perspective repeatability / command was priority. As a result, Noah's in the tough spot of actively working on mechanical and development changes at the big league level (as a young pitcher). I think the key is Sox have to manage his "psyche" well and I feel that is a very underrated area where Venable has excelled. I keep reminding myself - Schultz is going to be a stud in the long-run - but in the short run there is more work to do and some of that is going to require a step back. That said, I'd love to see a game where he's just off the charts electric (we saw some of that when he first came up - where the stuff stood out - despite the challenges with command.
  28. 86 wins definitely nets us a playoff spot. I think our success in the playoffs is linked with some form of home field advantage.
  29. Feels like the first big, old school blockbuster series of the year with two of the best teams in the AL. Gonna feel like the ALCS.
  30. I wish Antonacci was in, but not going to be mad at Everson starting his first game back.
  31. Fried is very good and with Shultz going for the Sox, this will get ugly early. Sorry, but I can’t be optimistic about this matchup. Maybe if Sandlin were pitching. That said, I hope like hell the Sox prove me wrong. I live in New York State and can’t stand the Yankees.
  32. I just don’t think Schultz is up for this. Prove me wrong, young man
  33. I see now this is a 4 game series. Man, we need a split. The Yankees seem built to hammer LHP. I am concerned. Maybe Kay will somehow put one of his once a month 6 inning 2 run starts together despite traffic most innings. One thing about Kay is he can get whiffs when needed. Helps limit the damage with RISP.
  34. Looks like everything clears right around first pitch. Maybe a delay but should be able to get the game in. Also wind ripping out to left at 15MPH
  35. think you guys are saying the same thing. he just needs to showcase he's healthy. someone will take a flier on him as a trade piece if so. Sox should be willing to throw in his remaining pro rated salary.
  36. Or until one of them gets hurt again.
  37. Would be very supportive of this move.
  38. Tonight could determine if Schultz is going to stay on the big league roster. Important game for the kid.
  39. Not quite, it's all cooked sushi for obvious reasons. They have a California crunch one, and a shrimp tempura one. It's pretty good for what it is.
  40. 2 points
It seems like another step in the right direction for the Nationals, and a great flip for them for an ex-prospect in Mead they picked up in what seemed like a minor trade in March. In that deal, they sent Boston Smith, drafted in the sixth round in 2025 by then-scouting director Danny Haas and scouting coordinator Jordan Missal, to the White Sox for Mead, and both players in that deal have had breakout years. Smith looks like he’ll be a backup catcher with power, and he has a chance to become a regular thanks to the athleticism behind the plate. Keith Law write up on recent Mead trade
  41. Yep, in 1999 with Boras demanding a higher signing bonus. Then the Scrubs drafted him the following year.
