  1. Can we trade some of these posters for posters to be named later ? DFA them ? I won't name names but you know who you are .

  2. Yeah, I won’t be watching an NBA game this year. These guys have the right to do what they want but I hope they realize how awful this is for the fans and that you will eventually make people not care about the league.

  7. She should know that it is illegal to disagree with a WAR HERO!!!! Ma'am have you no respect for the law! You sound like a Republican. Also, saying she doesn't understand something. Is this some sort of sexist attack? Typical for Crowley-bros.

  8. If Moncada doesn't reach that reasonable benchmark, it's time to openly criticize the organization. Either they overestimated Moncada (their fault) or don't have the coaches capable of working with him (again their fault). A rebuild is obviously an opportunity for development, but he isn't learning in a vacuum -- his value is tied to an unprecedented trade deal involving a perrenial Cy Young contender/possible HOF pitcher. We didn't trade Sale to accept a 2 year learning curve for a highly regarded prospect. I feel like we constantly lose sight of the value we traded. There's no room for excuses or errors. They need to fix it, or else, may as well complete the rebuild and fix the front office. That's just Moncada, mind you. We haven't even been treated with Kopech and Jimenez yet; but I'll set the stage now. "You can't expect every prospect to immediately succeed and sustain success!" Well, how about 1?

  9. I actually think this off-season has been pretty fantastic for the Bulls, if you take a step back and think about it. Thus far, neither Philly, Boston, or Toronto have done anything to improve (3 best teams in the East) all while LBJ went west. As far as I'm concerned, the path to the finals is carved with non-elite teams. I recognize Boston is very deep and very good and extremely well coached but I don't think they are an unbeatable dynasty (not yet at least) and I tend to think Philly is overrated at this point (don't get me wrong, I'd love their pieces, but they could very easy never emerge...ala the Wizards with a young Wall, Beal, Porter (they never took that step forward everyone expected). I also think that helps the Bulls when it comes to pitching other teams FA (well until the NBA changes the playoffs to a seeding of 1-16) as at some point we are going to see some of these stars move east. If the Bulls are a quality team, the pitch of an easier path to finals and overall weaker conference should certainly help. Add in the fact that they'd be contending with really only one historical powerhouse franchise (Boston + of course you always have to contend with power of New York if they ever get a halfway decent nucleus of young players) and it should bode somewhat well. On the west your only major competition (in free agency) will be the Lakers (and possibly Clippers) and while they are massive competition they'll only have room for one max deal and we might be headed into a couple year stretch where we see some elite names come out and "team up" and if we are one of the only options where the guys can team up...we might actually be alright. I'm putting a somewhat crazy prediction out there of Kyrie and Jimmy Buckets joining the Bulls with them swinging the fences for Anthony Davis as well (after Davis forces a trade and prior to Bulls paying him a supermax).

  10. One thing to remember is Boogie is going to be out until at least January and coming back from a serious injury. The other upside is Bulls aren't contending this year anyway and if Boogie kicks butt he'll be a free agent and he won't resign in Golden State so next year he'll be available to the highest bidder (to extent he is worth it). So technically him signing a 1 year deal is good for the Bulls, imo. He can either prove he is healthy and worthy of a max deal and if so, Bulls can be one of the teams to offer him. Had Boogie signed a big deal this year, it would have meant we had no shot at him next year so fact that he is back on radar for next year is good. Albeit would prefer a non Warriors team pick him up. I like the Pelicans getting Randle at that price. Seems to be a very reasonable rate for someone like Julius.

  11. You're up 2, you take the easy out instead of the difficult play 10 out of 10 times. Davidson doesn't play first also, so it's a forgivable sin. Bigger issue is how many dump plays the team consistently makes with no end in sight.

  13. I’m with you. Moncada had a good game. Shields and Avi were good. The rest is funny in a year we’re all going to forget soon.

  15. Davidson was inept. Coach him up. Or, DH him. Abreu would have known what to do. Volstad should be DFA'd. Same with Rick.

  19. Then you don't take four running steps toward the base before you throw. Even if throwing was the right call, once you've committed to tagging the base, you have to tag the base. Basic, Pony-league fundamentals.

  20. Is that the same sorry ass that went 2-3 with a run scored, a walk and 3RBI just yesterday?

  21. It's simple, if your bullpen is so overworked that you have to use Volstad here, then why in the hell do you pull Shields so early?

  33. I think offense is absolutely contagious. When guys go bad they press. When the offense goes bad, guys start to press harder. As more guys hit, you don't have to stress about your ABs as much.

  37. Sure, but how did he do with merchandise sales? Were group ticket sales up or down? Were there any substantial stadium lease negotiations? Did he get along with his director of corporate partnerships? Did they hit their sponsorship goals? How did the player development staff feel toward him? Were the players' facilities kept up during his tenure? How about the fan facilities? How about the field itself? Did the irrigation system hold up? Was there an increase in parking or ticket prices? If so, how did it go over? How went the team's relationships with local media over that period of time? Did they spend more or less on transportation and hotels for then players? Were concession sales up or down? How did White Sox charities perform over that span? Did the scouts respect him? Was he focused on the professional development of his staff? Didi the cost of employee benefits rise or fall? Was he able to convert significant corporate relationships into cost-saving assets for the business? I don't know the answer to any of that. But WBSWSF seems to think the job of General Manager is very simple and that it's weird that no one that works there seems to see all of the obviously correct decisions right in front of them.

  38. Conspiracy theories say it's a 4 year deal that ends when his kid graduates high school and if he can enter the draft by then straight out of HS, Lebron signs with whomever drafts him.

  40. If it wasn't for Illinois Governor Jim Thompson the White Sox would have moved to Florida. Former sports writer Jerome Holtzman said JR took a vote of the White Sox investors and half of them wanted to go to Florida. Eddie Einhorn was walking around with Florida White Sox shirts and he definitely wanted to go to Florida. JR and Einhorn had airline reservations July 1 to sign the official papers to move to Florida. One of the positives of the whole situation was that when the team stayed in Chicago Einhorn sold most of his shares of the White Sox to JR and "Fast Eddie " disappeared from the Chicago scene. I'm looking forward to the day when JR is no longer the owner of the White Sox. I'm just hoping its sooner rather than later.

  42. Just a point of interest for those wanting more stats without scouring the internet. Basically go to whitesox.com , find stats in the black banner right near the top of the opening page. Mouse over that then click on " sortable player stats" then click on the person you want to look up , Then scroll down the page to where the hot zone charts (for positions players) are and right under that there's a box that says 'view more charts' and it will take to to that persons Baseball Savant page where you can see Statcast stuff and a wider range of stats.

  46. Apparently Robert is back on the DL with a thumb injury. I don't know if it is the same one he hurt in spring training or not. Eloy left the game today after he hurt himself on a swing. Garfein thinks it may be a leg injury. They keep dropping like flies the past three seasons.

  48. Hahn seems like a breath of fresh air after KW, but he has been in the org nearly just as long and KW still makes decisions too. But you cant fire the owner no matter how mad fans get, and this owner can't fire any of his friends that won him a ring. The big trades all look great on paper, so we got that going for us.
