Tanner McDougal was on fire tonight 🔥 🔥🔥 4 IP, 3 H, 8 Ks, 2 ER. The only damage came on a changeup left over the heart of the plate. Outside of that he was nasty, sitting 95-97 with the fastball and a pretty wicked breaking ball. McDougal 📈📈📈

What was that 10 pitches for Lynn? Much needed and good recovery.

For a day at least, the Sox played like a really good team. Hit the s%*# out of the ball and easily papered over some defensive and pitching issues.

The White Sox start Lance Lynn on the hill tonight. 3-5, 10 Starts, 57 1/3 innings, 6.28 ERA, 1.592 WHIP and 67 K. In May, Lance is much improved with a 3-1 record over 4 GS and 24 2/3 IP, with a 5.11 ERA and 1.297 WHIP and 25 K. Lifetime, Lance has 11 starts against Detroit with a 7-3 record, 3.39 ERA and 70 Ks over 63 2/3 IP, though has not fared as well in Detroit with a 4.91 ERA, 1.636 WHIP and 1-2 record over 4 starts and 22 Innings. Lance's counterpart is LHP Joey Wentz sporting a 1-4 record and 7.45 ERA over 7 starts and 31 2/3 IP. Bad omen for the Sox is that this is his first career appearance against Chicago, hopefully offset by the fact he is a Southpaw. The duality of fan

The benefit (and downside) of age is that with time comes acceptance. Sometimes just having a game to turn into is enough to care, and if it becomes more than not, cool, if not, it was enough to just live it. These guys have played like bums most of my damn life, but for now they are playing pretty decent baseball, regardless of what happened three weeks ago or 15 year ago or hell, next week.

He's 25, in his first season at an actual appropriate position. If he doesn't improve over the next 2-3 years, I'm with you. Players reach peak performance at 27-28. And while RBIs are lineup dependent, the Sox can use hitters who hunker down and knock runners in, especially with two outs like Vaughn delivered. Is there anyone you like on the team? Anyone you think is actually good at baseball besides possibly Robert? Sox don't have depth, but they do have a dozen players that are solid baseball players, with Robert being the best overall, and a good staff and bullpen that is rounding into form. They need to prove it in June against stronger teams, but these were the teams the Sox were losing against the past two seasons, so it's nice to see them not sink to the level of their competition. White Sox still up 4-1 heading into the fourth.

I cannot fathom the thought behind developing 8 interesting first basemen at the same time, and trading none of them while allowing yourself to field replacement level players at several positions.

I actually think that Crochet has enough pitches -- his change is better than I remembered -- but it's going to be a lot of innings for him to get anything like command back. He should either be back in AAA getting some work, or be put into lower leverage situations for a while. Frankly, if you're looking to win today's game, Banks might be a better choice for lefty reliever than Crochet or Bummer right now.

The fact some players if any, may not want to play for the White Sox...has nothing to do with the fans. The reason Tim Anderson apparently hates this team and Jose Abreu suggested a bad culture here, is only because of the Horrible Owner, dysfunctional Front Office and terrible manager and coaching staff. The Sox fans are probably one the most loyal fanbases in baseball. It's a credit to the these loyal fans that still even go to the ballpark, knowing how bad this team has been and how expensive it is to watch a bad team lose all the time.

This is dumb. Burger 3B / Moncada 2B is a better overall defensive lineup than Moncada 3B / Burger 2B.
