Yep.  He basically either gets paid for 3 years if he sucks or gets a chance to opt out each year for a long-term deal if he pitches well.

Yeah looking at these contract terms, it kind of makes me feel better. He basically would’ve been a 1 year rental here.

He would be QO eligible right? Idk if you need a certain amount of years but I know players who opt out of deals can still be offered the QO.
